This place looked ok from the outside. But inside was different. I sat at the bar, ordered a burger. It came out 20 mins later on a dirty plate, rusty lettuce , and kinda stale bun. fantastic place!! I can never say enough things about Mellons. best thing about it is food. OMG. the wings are to die for! they mostly use dry rubs for the wings and good lord. I can eat them every single day! their burgers are crazy also! handmade with beef! Of course it's a pub so has the normals when it comes to alcohol but I go for dinners. read more

Was disappointed in this place, especially after hearing that the food was delicious. We sat down at the bar on a night that wasn't too busy. Waited about 15 minutes, but couldn't get service in because some very shady customers had taken over the bar. We ended up, leaving before our orders came due to feeling very uncomfortable with the way the hoodlums were acting. I'd be willing to try it again if the bad crowd wasn't there. read more

I used to live in the McKeesport Area for years before joining the service and never stepped foot inside Mellon's Pub. I had heard about their amazing wings for years, but was either living in another State or always deployed when my family came back for a visit. Recently, I moved back to the area and was asked to go out for some wings with friends. I LOVE wings, especially whole wings. I ordered the seasoned wings and couldn't be happier. The wings at Mellon's Pub were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. My wife ordered the Double Bacon Cheeseburger and was shocked at the size of the burger. She figured with the price of the burger and the size of the pub, the burger would have been small, but this was not the case. Needless to say, she had to take half of the burger home. The selection of beer in the Beer Cooler is above average for the area. I was able to find a beer that I liked instantly, though my selection was not on tap. I prefer bottled beer unless I am hitting up a Micro Brewery. The customers in the pub seem to know everyone and the atmosphere was calming. Knowing the area and not liking uncomfortable situations, I was at ease. There is an Internet Jukebox that has almost every song known to man and the volume was not too loud to make conversations difficult. As a bonus, you can download an app for your smartphone to play songs without having to leave your seat. The Staff at Mellon's was very receptive and friendly, I never had to wait for a beer. We spent about 4 hours in the Pub, 7 pm to 11 pm. There were approximately 10 people in the pub when we first arrived on a Friday night and by the time we left, there were around 20. There are plenty of seats at the bar, but we chose to sit at a booth because each booth has its own TV that is usually broadcasting some sporting event. All in all, Mellon's Pub is a place that I can certainly see visiting again and on a regular basis (if the wife allows me). It kind of reminded me of the TV Show Cheers. read more

I was in town visiting my family and my brothers decided to take me to Mellon's to try their wings. When we arrived I was glad to see they had Leine's on tap since I now live in WI and it's my fave. We were a bit surprised when the bartender passed menus to us across the bar vs coming over to our table with them (there were only 3 other people in the bar/restaurant). After looking at the menu, although I originally was going to try their wings, I decided I had a craving for a burger. I tried to order my burger medium rare (cuz who wants a dry, well done burger?) but the bartender said I couldn't order it that way because of health concerns... this young twenty-something bartender had an attitude and I felt she had a nasty tone... so I said, "Well, if it's really 100% angus beef there wouldn't be an issue." She continued to get smart with me... Ummm, I don't need a twenty-something girl trying to 'school' me on health concerns when I've been in the health care field for over thirty years and when I'm guessing she has over served patrons at the bar... that's way more of a health concern IMO than a medium rare burger. I ended up ordering a cheese steak sandwich which was just okay. Most of my family ordered wings which they really enjoyed. Anyway, I've travelled the US & the world over and was quite taken back and surprised at the bartender's rude attitude toward customers...
