This was our first time eating at this establishment. It's an open layout. The bar is on the right when you come in, dining areas are on the left. They have booths and tables. We choose a booth that had a good view of the TVs so we could peep the hockey game. The place is clean, but it was freezing where we were sitting. We were close to a door, but no one went in or out of it. You had to use the bar door to enter. Our server was good. We didn't have to ask her to refill the drinks, she kept them coming and was attentive and got our orders taken and brought out correctly. She didn't forget anything. Attentive. I like that. The specials were steaks. I ordered the Delmonico with a crab cake, the potatoes, green beans and I added a house salad. I ordered my steak medium rare. It was delish. The green beans were good, but cold. The crab cake on top of the steak was hot and delicious. My daughter got the spaghetti and meatballs. The portions were huge and it was also delicious. I tried it haha! They used fettuccine noodles which was nice and the sauce wasn't overly spiced, it was just right. My nephew ordered boneless hot wings and cheese fries, and even though it wasn't a night they do wings, they still made them for him. He said everything was great. The cook also came out and asked if the kids had any but allergies and proceeded to bring us out a complimentary dessert. It was fried dough, chocolate sauce, peanut m&ms and whipped cream. It was very tasty. The food quality was great, portions are huge. I couldn't eat half of my 12 oz. steak. They season the food nicely and it's not over done. The staff is nice and welcoming. Finally here for the first time. Tried at some tastings the past few years and finally stopped in. Not a lot of people there but seemed like a nice place to eat. Our server seemed like he doesn't serve often but was fine. Mozzarella sticks were big and crispy. Steak hoagie was huge (FYI $0.75 upcharge for each of mushroom, pepper, and onion that I may have missed on the menu). Waffle chicken was okay and Buffalo chicken was good as well. Fries are really good too, along with the cheese sauce. What was disappointing was the wait time. We waited at least 30 minutes for our meals and there wasn't many people there to serve, and I think we were the only ones getting food. Each meal was also brought several minutes apart from each other. I'll definitely give this another try, the food was good and they have different specials all the time, including wing, steak, and pasta nights. read more

Terrible food. Dirty. Workers are nice though. Beer is sometimes "skunked ". Had to give it back. Green bottles should not be in the light. It makes the beer taste terrible. Taps are sometimes empty. I have been here three times now since it opened a few weeks ago. This is by far my new favorite place to eat in the Mon Valley. I am so happy they remodeled this place into something amazing. Such a huge upgrade from what it was before. The food is awesome- I haven't had anything yet that I didn't love. The seafood pasta is to die for! The philly steak hoagie, turkey club, and buff chick dip are the other items I tried, and all are excellent. Stopped at the Tap Factory after work for drinks and dinner, the barmaid Nikki was very attentive although she was very busy being the night of the Halloween Party we never waited long for anything. We shared the Chicken Finger Basket and a Salad. Everything was great. Todd Jones was playing and the entire place was singing along. A good time and will be back soon. read more

My family and I love visiting this restaurant. There is always and excellent beer selection. The wings on Sundays are good. I really like the unique salad dressings, the Mango Chardonnay is incredible. There are some excellent servers in this restaurant as well. I've never in my life experienced something so unprofessional in my 26 years of life. The bartender, Nikki, was hanging all over some random guy at the bar Monday night while we waited 20 minutes for refills on drinks and left the bar unattended. Despite that, we went back again today, Wednesday, and the owner came barreling out of the kitchen, ripped one of our drinks off the bar, and spilled it out yelling "you're cut the fuck off". To our confusion, being that we only had one drink, we asked what we did wrong, but she couldn't answer. They both continued with attitudes, and continued to tell us how much we owed for our tabs... With an untouched drink, I stated I was not paying for a drink I did not touch. Another girl paid for my drink, so I said I had a right to drink it. They told me I didn't. I asked for a to go cup, then told me no.. so I walked outside with my drink to finish it. The owner followed me out, SCREAMING, like there aren't residential neighbors around, and ripped my drink out of my hand and spilled it on me. Nikki (the bartender) following, also screaming with her finger in my face, trying to fight me. (Lucky for her someone held her back). I can assure you I'll never return to this ratchet a$$ place, and I would not recommend it to anyone else. Seated ourselves. Waiters sat at a table on their phones. Then came and took our order. Some of their Friends came in and got their orders taken and got their food before us. Other than staying tables side to friends the service wasn't terrible. Food was on average 6 out of 10 ...however this is the second time I was there and the first was at the bar. Decided to give this place a try when traveling through town for business. Steak night advertised. Got the NY strip with shrimp on top. Included green beans and FF. Steak was cooked as I requested but meat was tough, without much flavor. The green beans were coated with oil (didn't taste like olive oil) and only half were actually cooked, ie soft enough to eat. The fries were good but not hot. Overall, need to do some work on the food here, at least the steak dinners. Bar food may be a better bet for now. Quite a few people Thursday evening. Wait staff was attentive but so quick and brief I couldn't even get a word out before she moved on. Therefore I did not complain about my meal. Good selection of beer - best part of my meal. I went here not long ago with my friend and her family on a Friday night. This place was PACKED. The bartenders were doing an amazing job at keeping up with all of the drink orders and I never had to wait very long to order a drink even with the bar as crowded as it was. They were also very clearly enjoying their job and were super personable and friendly. Honestly the best service I've had. The selection of beers is great. There's something for everyone, plus it's a full bar if beer isn't your thing. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and a great place to hang out with friends. read more

Disappointing. Ordered pierogi appetizer and the picture shows what was at the bottom of our basket. The salad tasted like the lettuce came out of a pre-made bag. French fries came out cold and soggy. When we mentioned that, fresh hot ones came out but they were hot and sipping with oil. Chicken parm is frozen and while the best dish at our table uninspired. The chef is phoning it in - the place has a lot of potential and many patrons and could take it up a notch. They are begging for a food network rescue. Wait staff was very attentive and responsive but our server not as well educated on how the food is made as would have been helpful. It was cheap - $41 for three but they have a long way to go. Today when we went the server said it was a little chaotic because the main chef is out right now. They had tacos for $2, my friend got three and added a salad, should have been $9 for that and she rang him for the regular three taco dinner for $10 instead and only 2 tacos came out. My steak salad supposed to not have cheese and it did, melted all over the steak. The dressings weren't anything special as advertised, a bbq ranch jus tasted like bbq sauce with mayo in it. It was not good. The beers are small and there were cobwebs in the window above the last booth. I won't be back. Locally, River House in Charleroi or By George in Monessen has he same feel but it much better. read more

My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday evening, prior to visiting The Demon House. We are not very familiar with places to eat in Monongahela, so I really appreciated Yelp's assistance with finding a worthy spot to dine. We decided upon this place considering it was right down the road from the haunted house and had good reviews. We had a very good experience here. It's a small place, but seems pretty new. It was a really clean establishment, which is always great! Our server was the only server working- she had a few other tables, so we had to wait a while for drinks, but that's completely fine and we had no problem waiting. The food was really good. We started off with the mozzarella sticks- VERY good. I went with the chicken & waffle sandwich with fries as my meal and Brendan ordered the burger with fries. Both meals were good and satisfying. I tried the Asian chili wing sauce with the fries, which appeared to be made in house and was really tasty! Overall, we had a very good experience here and if we are out in this area again, I would absolutely come back here (and I am ordering the wings!) :). read more

******** significant positive changes and improvements by ownership / management reported to me by friends since this review. encouraged to re-evaluate the establishment, i have frequented with them over the past 4-6 months and am in agreement. the vast majority of my original complaints have been addressed and corrected. in addition, some welcomed improvements / changes have been made (like a wing night which is on mondays, highly recommend the factory trash wing sauce, and a $10 ny strip steak night on thursdays, its a good steak. the current beer lists are updated and the wait staff has either settled in or been replaced as needed).. i chane my original recommendation to avoid this place to a solid check it out - sun through thursday 5pm to 9pm for food +/- drinks... and the food quality has improved significantly! after that it dies quick. friday and saturday are usually solid for later drinks as the bar crowd hangs in there these nights til 1-2am.. only remaining major gripes: 1) the mens restroom in the bar always smells like piss no matter what - badly; 2) the kitchen is only open til 9pm sun-thurs. it wouldn't take much more to keep it open til 10pm full menu all week then even possibly a limited frier menu til 12am fri and sat.. and sun / mon as well during nfl season! steelers game time specials and mnf specials would be a great addition too - if city bars can swing $1 bud drafts during steelers then this place should make the effort - food will carry it during that time; lastly, 3) weekends are inconsistent - a dj every sat or a bike night every friday in summer or even karaoke every sat after 9pm, whatever.. now its a dj sat then nothing for 6 weeks then something or another for a friday... one week its packed - the next empty by 11pm.. growing pains are at play obviously but there are options and consistency is king.. final note: if there is any question or concern by any patron or a suggestion or recommendation that one would like to propose, ask the server to speak to brandon. he is a 33% owner with seemingly 100% of the care and concern to make this a great place for the community and a good experience for the patrons. he is almost always there - even before opening and after close.. he cares and i have seen his dedication and hard work over the past months - along with the up and down ride that tortures any compassionate concerned new business owner... i owe him this statement only because he earned it... Me and 3 others got some basic food. One of them got the pierogis, another one got the pizza burger, and my girlfriend got chicken strips and fries. I went with the ripper burger which is my favorite. We all sat and waited for our food for a good 45 minutes before our server came around and said "we just had a huge to-go order, so your food might be just a little longer" Are you serious? Why would you not take care of an in house food order first? That's like restaurant 101!!! We got the food. Everything was ice cold. I don't just mean "kinda warm but not piping hot", I mean ICE cold. Everything seemed like it was left in a refrigerator or in front of a fan. The French fries sucked, my favorite burger was so dry and pebbly that it was hard to swallow. We just asked for the check after we got our food. The bill was over $65. That is a little insane considering we all got some pretty simple food. 2 burgers, some peirogis and an order of chicken strips should be about 30-40 bucks, but $65?? No way. Sorry tap factory, I love ya, but this time sucked. I'll definitely be back but let's think about how we do things in the back of the house. read more

By far the worst service I've had at a bar. Had 2 different waitresses take our order and it took at least 20 minutes to get our drinks, that they remembered.... that wasn't even the food. I ate here last week and had the worst dinner I have ever had. My first clue should have been that many of the items on the menu were misspelled. I asked for ice water with lemon and got ice water no lemon. The food was cold. I asked for it to be reheated. When it came back to me, the meat was very hot but the potatoes and brocolli were still cold. The mashed potatoes looked like glue and had little taste. The broccoli was over seasoned and cooked like it had been cooked hours earlier as it was overdone and limp. Service was mediocre and when I expressed that my food was not very good, the waitress just said, "awe". Orderd one of the most expensive meals on the menu. Expected better. Won't go back. read more

My husband and I decided to check this place out last night, we were told it was decent from a few people and they have a decent tap list. The only list I could find was from almost a month ago, but listed what I was looking for (Arsenal) and had some IPAs he was interested in, so we headed out. They gave us a paper list that was the same as what I saw online, but they were out of both Arsenal. (Arsenal is a local hard cider if you aren't familiar.) I do not drink beer aside from a few Flanders red ales or oud brouin/Belgian, so I was disappointed. The waitress then says "If you like that fruity stuff, I have something for you to try." I ask what it is, because the list had nothing on it I would like. She was going to bring me an Apricot Blue Moon. fruity wheat beer is not even close to a hard cider. For the love of god, do not recommend beers if you know nothing about them. Then, my husband wanted wings. It's bar, right? So they will have wings? Apparently only Sun/Mon. He drank his beer and we ended up leaving. I would strongly recommend keeping an updated tap list somewhere. Take a photo daily, use a site like untappd, SOMETHING. Also? UPDATE THE PAPER TAP LISTS. I doubt we will give them another try unless we hear that they made some updates. read more
