While we were at it, we upgraded our equipment to a top-of-the-line Jandy system with Wi-Fi controls, plus added a heater and automatic pool filler. Yes, the budget went up, but every upgrade was worth it. Watching the transformation was amazing. Once the new tile, coping, and plaster went in, it felt like we had a brand-new pool built from scratch. The white plaster makes the water sparkle, the equipment runs quietly and efficiently, and with the heater and lights, we can swim comfortably day or night, year-round. Sure enough, some of the values where off. What is astonishing, is that I had approached them with the issue to give them a chance to do the job right. A few months later there where signs of Algae, and I was told this is normal at this time of the year and a special treatment is necessary that would cost me hundreds of dollars. The straight up lies and being treated like an idiot are unbelievable. If your chemistry is done right, there will never be an algae build up and no special treatment is necessary.
