Ki Lan has been expanding her certifications so she now is teaching classes in Yamuna Body Rolling in addition to Pilates. Think of Yamuna like a 2 hour massage that you give yourself. And then go to YouTube and watch a video. I appreciate KI Lan's hands-on approach to instructing, and the care she takes to watch my body move to be sure that I'm moving in the right way, instead of just counting out the number of reps. There's always something new to try depending on how I'm feeling or what my body is telling her that I'm not necessarily able to see or vocalize. We laugh, we share stories, I stretch and my glutes (among other muscles) get a great workout! I love/hate the bosu, which only means that I should do more work on/with it. Always professional, always looking to find a new way to help me reach my fitness/wellness goals, Ki Lan is tops for me when it comes to how I want to spend my time and my fitness budget.

Since attending last summer, I feel my core strengthened and my balance improved. I can recommend this studio for beginners, the advanced and those anywhere in-between.

This studio left a lasting impression on me. I had gotten some free classes that brought me in to…read moretry them once, but then I got hooked and became a (non-regular) paying customer (this location was too far from me for it to be regular, but I liked this location more than other ones I had tried, so mentally I would've been a regular there if I could've). I have gone to countless different gyms and boutique fitness businesses but this one hit a little differently. Maybe the extra light in the studio helps, maybe it is their fantastic staff - from the door to the floor - but it all made me happy and feel more content with my day once I went. Its been a little minute since I've been, but just wanted to randomly drop by this review in case anyone has been wondering whether to check it out or not. The instructors are amazing and so bada**, I wish I could have their endurance to talk and workout so hard at the same time! Having tried many other classes, no one has beaten my experience with them because they are so in tune with their clients and knowledgeable in helping you find the adjustments you need if you want them, which other places lack. It all helped me strengthen things I didn't know I needed to strengthen. Keep it up, Barre3 Issy. (And take a class with Trina if she's still there - she'll kick your booty.)

This class challenged me to work on muscle groups outside of my normal CrossFit WODS. The class started with an introduction to the equipments, and class expectations. Barre3 is a combination of ballet, yoga, Pilates, dance, and functional training. The workout is done barefoot. We completed some stretching movements as a warm up to our hour long rou. The soundtrack slowly sped up in tempo signaling the transition to more challenging movements. This was a full body workout. The moves included slight modifications depending on personal dexterity and fitness level. The entire workout centered on engaging the muscles while slightly shifting positions. What I liked about the experience was the dynamics of class. It invoked a feeling of community and a sense belonging. The instructor was encouraging and the music selection was perfect. I'll definitely look into incorporating more of Barre3 into my workout. This location was clean and organized. There is available lot and street parking. I would absolutely recommend this workout to anyone looking to change up their routine.

The pools often smell of heavy chlorine and mildew but I have no idea how often the water is changed. They ask you to wear dirty, hairy, holey shoe covers in the swim area. I have no problem wearing shoe covers but these are pretty disgusting to touch. I understand the owners are trying to cut corners but they really shouldn't make it so obvious to the public. There are three WiFi signals for SwimLabs but the public is no longer allowed a guest WiFi. We are no longer allowed to make up classes anymore, which was a big factor in choosing them. It seems to be tightening up and a lot less fun. Finally, my husband witnessed a grown woman helping her son get dressed in the men's locker room instead of the shared bathroom. When he mentioned it to the desk staff, they said ok but didn't do anything about it. The staff seems to be very careful not to offend customers but the owner is cutting corners everywhere they can.

Luckily the water was not deep, and my husband is fast . This is the same kid who hated getting water in his face, (like his mama) to one who loves swimming and can't wait for our sessions. Shout out to Chrissy, Joy, and Bree for their incredible work!

Their instructors are very knowledgeable about different dance genres and their history. The facilities are clean and well-organized, and both locations have designated parking spots. The only downside is that it can get quite hot during classes, especially when we're moving quickly and there are many people. It would be even better if the windows were open or if there were fans to help circulate the air in addition to the AC. Overall, the instructors and classes are great--I can't wait to come back for more!

The waiting room is always clean and the staff periodically cleans the floors and bathrooms. They really do a good job at keeping things clean and orderly here for the students and parents. They do screen out the windows to the practice rooms, so it's difficult to see inside so the students have some privacy when learning their choreography, which I know my son finds comforting. He's more on the shy side and he gets self-conscious when we watch him practicing or learning the choreography. I feel like here, they bring out the confidence in him. Even though he's a little ashamed to show us his dance routine sometimes, he really enjoys dancing and never wants to miss a class. We even had to adjust his Taekwondo schedule so he can make it to dance class. I definitely recommend Eastside dance for kids and adults who want to learn to dance. If I have time, maybe I'll give it a go. Update: Our friend's son wanted to try hip-hop and he tried out the kid's class. He really enjoyed it! He said he definitely wants to sign up for the class and he's joining the Eastside Dance Family! YAY!
