Daughter attended Blue Dog for the last annual season. She performed in the Polar Express Christmas Pageant and the Spring Recital. One of her teachers were wonderful, but her other teacher who was still a high school student seemed to lack the patience to work with her kindergarten energy level. This is our 3rd year in dance, our other 2 years were at a studio in Florida before we moved, and we found the choreography here to not be at the same level as our previous studio. Front desk workers are super friendly and overall we were happy, just a little disappointed with the ease of the choreography. read more

Feedback I would give is that the front desk person (Ms Taylor?) very unfriendly and uncomfortable. not a great first impression at all. She made it very clear that we were an inconvenience to arrive 10 minutes early on the first day. Just all around negative vibes, not what you would want from a front desk person. would consider not returning due to this person. read more

Blue Dog Dance provides fantastic adult classes that let's me continue to enjoy tap. The teachers are fun, knowledgeable and give actionable feedback. The studio has taken extensive protocols during the pandemic providing a clean, well maintained environment for all dancers to continue their passion safely. My girls have been dancing here for 8 years. They've done performance and now my oldest is in Royals. I have even been taking adult tap classes for a few years. Blue dog is such a great community for my family. They have taken such care during the pandemic to give my girls an outlet while keeping them safe. The owner of Blue Dog is awesome. She's motivated, enthusiastic, and so good with the kids! Both of my girls have taken classes at Blue Dog (they are 3 and 4 years old). The recital was laid back and I loved that the preschool aged kids 'borrowed' costumes from the studio and I didn't have to fork over $75 for a one time use recital costume. It's affordable and not snooty, like other dance studios we've visited. I took some yoga classes at Blue Dog last year and they were sooooo relaxing (and hard work at times), I loved it. Overall, we have had a lovely experience with Blue Dog. Had my daughters chosen dance over gymnastics this year, we'd be happy to continue at Blue Dog. read more

If you want your child to get a PROPER dance education-- whether that mean technically OR creatively-- this is NOT the studio for you. Dance teachers lack training and credentials; most are thrown into positions without having any resume at all. It is more of a daycare center than a legitimate studio of dance. The owner is nice to begin with, but get on her bad side and any possibility of more dance opportunity will be completely squashed. This studio does not respect dance as a legitimate art, and in-turn puts their students in a bubble that restricts them from getting any real experience. Show any real interest in pursuing dance competitively or professionally and you can be sure that your dreams, or the dreams of your child, will be left under the radar to be obliterated by the totalitarian power of the "THIS IS ALL JUST FOR FUN" attitude. 'Dance teams' are a complete joke. Students work for ONE HOUR a week "perfecting" numbers that involve dance steps such as the step-touch, and are then presented in front of groups of old people on the infamous "Retirement home tour". Don't get me wrong, I am all for charitable projects and giving back to the community, but when you are diminishing the potential of a dancer to weekly visits to the old-peoples' home then I think something needs to be re-evaluated. It's cute for a 5-6 year old but once you're 12 or over it is borderline inappropriate. When students are put into a competition/convention setting, however, they are left unprepared and lacking the basic skills needed to succeed in such an environment. It's like sending a kid to a soccer-tournament that hasn't even been taught how to properly kick a ball-- it's cruel and deteriorates from the intended purpose of the event (to challenge skilled dancers and give them an opportunity to dance for people bigger than their small town... WHICH IS POINTLESS WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO DO A DOUBLE PIROUETTE). If you are looking to provide a well-rounded and truly enriching dance experience for your child then your business is best taken elsewhere. Don't throw your money away on someone who has no intention of making your child the best that they could possibly be at their art-- better yet, don't throw it away on someone who doesn't even know how to correct un-pointed feet and bent knees. read more

My kids have been going to Blue Dog Dance for going on two years, now. We LOVE Blue Dog Dance. The instructors are WONDERFUL and Barbara (the owner/founder) is just awesome. They are surprisingly affordable, and offer a TON of classes, so there is something for everyone, even adults! The recital last June was amazing, and can't wait to see what they cook up for the next one. If you have a kid who wants to dance, Blue Dog is the best starting place, in my opinion. read more

Our preschool age child has been attending classes since last summer and we're very pleased with the fun experience that Blue Dog provides. The teachers are patient and kind and do a great job keeping the kids interested, which is a tough job with 3 and 4 year olds. We're looking forward to continuing classes there. read more

Amazing company! They are so organized and very good with kids. Affordable, enjoyable, love love love the teachers. Can't say enough about how good they are. It's kind of like dance for the rest of us, in a cheerful, high energy, welcoming environment where everyone is pushed to be their best, yet allowed to be themselves. I signed my two year old daughter up to attend a class. This would have been her first time in a dance class but I thought it would be fine because the class said 2-4 year olds. You think they'd be able to accommodate a 2 year old. Right? Wrong. As soon as the class starts the lady at the front desk said ok parents have to leave. Seeing as though this was her first time attending, my daughter was terrified at me walking out. Came out the class immediately. I guess the one star was for the fact that they offered my daughter a chair to watch the other kids. The lady offered to put us in a lower class that was mommy and me that started in the Fall. Cool. But upon leaving my daughter was very upset and wanted to try to go to the class anyway. I asked the front desk lady if she could try again. She said "No, we don't want her to be a distraction". Wow so she had 3 seconds to adjust to the setting and then you turn away for not immediately falling in line?!? Absolutely the worst! Definitely not a place to start your child and I would guess not a place that serves CHILDREN at all! NEVER RETURNING! read more
