I went in for an oil change and actually had an appointment with Coupon in hand . The nice gentleman at the desk patiently waited on me and informed me that my coupon was for a different business but he stated that he could get me in for an oil change and honor that coupon anyway . I was embarrassed but he laughed with me and not at me . Knowing that I was going to need some maintenance with replacing from rotors and brakes the guy gave me a quote on a price and they were able to do all of my service at the time . Top notch service , very friendly and fast service for a lady who mistakenly went to the business she didn't even have an appointment for . I will continue business with them . I can no longer recommend them for anything. Since my previous sterling reviews, there have been numerous instances where I have been lied to (a biggee for me), the work has been poor resulting in it costing me later (example : they replaced a fuel pump. Later one of the fuel lines came loose, resulting in a 98.00 tow bill), and lastly they are useless for diagnosing problems, at least this has been true for me on several occasions. I won't even get my oil changed there anymore, as once they didn't get the oil filter tight which nearly cost me an engine. read more

Took car to another shop and the price was half of original quote. They didn't know the difference in catalytic converters. They purposely tried to scam me into a higher price. I was really stressing out about finding an affordable repair option for my older Nissan after the dealership quoted me well over $2000 to get my car fixed. Rich at Meineke in Madison immediately took a look at my car and gave me a rough estimate quote of what he thought may be the issue. It was significantly lower than the dealership, plus he could fix it within the next day. When i went in, Rich looked at it and was able to save me significant cash because he explained it didnt all need to be replaced. Please never take your car here, ever !! I brought my car to this location multiple times over the past couple of years and it was a huge mistake. Everytime you bring your car here, it seems like they end up breaking something and something new is wrong with your car. I paid them for alignments on a couple of different occasions and my car never seemed to get better. After finally taking my car to a much more trustworthy car shop I was informed that nobody had ever aligned one side of my car due to my adjustment being frozen on one side To make it even worse I was only left with TWO out of five lug bolts on my car (they were the last ones to work on it). After getting in contact with the owner, Steve, he was extremely unhelpful. He offered a few free oil changes which is definitely not an acceptable offer considering I went through two sets of tires in a year because of their negligence. He then offered a refund on only one alignment ... but of course only if I could provide papers and proof ! I couldn't locate my papers (which sure, a mistake on my part for misplacing them) and he said that his staff could have spelled my name wrong or put information wrong in the system, after basically admitting that his previous staff was incompetent and that he fired them all because of this he said he can't do anything for me unless I find it. As a good business owner shouldn't YOU have the documentation of my visits to YOUR business. Good luck getting anything done, he will probably just talk over you and talk about how's he's owned the business for thirty years and he knows what he's doing. Clearly not. read more

After having my brakes serviced locally at Meineke shop, something went wrong and the front left brake made a terrible loud grinding and scraping noise. I was 500 miles from home with wife and kids in the minivan. We located a Meineke repair shop in Madison Tennessee that was fairly close by. The service manager, Rich Romeo, and his crew showed me what caused the problem and had me back on the road in 30-45 minutes; under warranty-no charge to us. I have a 2001 Chevy conversion van that I use with my band and travel all across the country. It's got 170k+ miles so you know I have my fair share of mechanical visits that aren't enjoyable, especially when out of town. All I have to say about this place is why didn't I find it sooner?! I have been in twice this year with minor issues and both times have not been charged. They reset my brake pedal, rotated tires, topped off trans fluid and test drove problems. As negative as this review is, it needs to be heard to prevent others from going through what I have gone through. I took my car in to get all new brakes and rotors. My car came out with front end damage - the bumper on both sides had been pulled away from the car and the flashguard in the front was torn off and hanging out. In the months of trying to get the damage corrected, the dislodged guard shredded the wheel well. The owner refused to replace all of the damage caused to my car and told me point blank he would only replace part of the items that were damaged and not with new parts, saying I did damage to my front end even though I have both video and picture proof that I did not. I even have witnesses of the condition of my car prior to having the brakes fixed, one of them being a mechanic for decades. I also have a reputable company's estimate of the initial damage. After uncomfortable negotiations of being treated disrespectfully by the owner, he bought one part that looks new, but doesn't match the other 3 on my car and another part from a salvage yard that was old and bent and only part of what the actual part was supposed to be as if it had been "cut off" in some type of accident. Instead of fixing the car himself as he promised, he made his manager do it with the unfit parts and never spoke to me again and didn't make sure the job was done correctly (which it couldn't have been with the parts he gave the manager.) The "fixed" parts are now scraping my new tires and have to be removed and replaced correctly to prevent damage to my tires. At end of it all, I'm faced with almost $4,000 worth of the cheap brake and rotor parts I paid for that need to be replaced, the initial damage to my front end plus the added cost of having to pay another business to replace all of this correctly to stop the damage happening to my new tires. I will not go back to this business again. The workers are nice people who try to do a good job, but if the owner does not allow them a respectful environment and needed resources to do their jobs (if he treats them like he treated me,) they can only do so much. The owner told me that front end damage happens "all the time" from the metal lifts that the cars are put on - that they just put the damaged parts back on the car. (I'm assuming they don't tell you when they damage your car since they didn't tell me.) I would strongly suggest anyone taking their car to this business take time/date stamped pictures before you go and look both under and around your car when you get it back to make sure it has not been damaged. read more

I went in to see why my brakes squealed. After an inspection, the guy starts telling me how bad my breaks are. This floored me and I told him I had just gotten new rotors in the back, turned in the front, and new pads all over within a year. He told me I should have told him that and it would change the price. He said the front could not be turned again, which is what they did last time (or do they said). I found out later that the rotors in the front had not been turned, which was causing the noise, and that there was plenty of pad left that would have probably lasted another year had that rotor been turned. I have spent a lot of money at Meineke in the past, and last year even wrote a raving review on Google, but they will not get another dime from me. Finally I will say this...just because a woman walks into your shop, don't presume that she knows nothing about cars or that she AT LEAST doesn't have the resources or the common sense to check out what you are saying. This shop seems to have another manager each month. This last one at least seems to not be out to screw the consumer, but I am still hesitant. There have not been good experiences in the past. I've only gone there out of necessity and deffinetely won't be back if they switch back to a rude and coniving manager like the ones they've had in the past. The manager they have in there now seems to know what he's talking about and doesn't push rediculous services on you...just what is needed. Horrible...one of the mechanics tried to tell me I had to replace my whole exhausted pipe because "if it shifts and turns sideways your truck won't start". The exhausted pipe has no leaks or cracks in it, they were just trying to get more money out of me. I even got it checked by another mechanic and they said their was nothing wrong with it. It's upsetting to see people who just want to take advantage of people that way. I will not be returning to this place. read more
