They didn't have the smart speaker I wanted which is fine so I decided to buy a more expensive option. It was around 9pm when I asked if I could get someone to unlock the glass for me to buy it. The worker gave me sass saying that the electronics section is closed even though I can go to Walmart or the Meijer in 16 On Vandyke and buy electronics anytime I want. There's no sign that says they can't service you at a certain time. I immediately left because of the workers attitude not coming back. If there a policy I'm not aware of it's fine doesn't give you a reason to disrespect a customer. read more

Of all the Meijers this one is my least favorite. I've had a few incidents where I've found the staff unfriendly and it's hard to find coffee that doesn't have tears in the bags. But my last visit was by far the worst. I burned my hand while getting a rotisserie chicken off the warming tray, I didn't know that it was as hot as an oven since there was no CAUTION HOT sign anywhere to be seen. After I severely burned my hand I looked for a warning sign and I found one at the top about 1 by 2 inches big, no bigger than a price tag. I took 2 photos and posted them and no one could find it even after I circled it. Naturally I complained in the meat department and the apathetic woman behind the counter told me she'd let her manager know the next time she came in about the sign being too small. I was furious, how about offering me some medical assistance or a bag of ice? No such luck. I had to bother 3 more people before anyone took me seriously, I say bother because that's how they acted. By this time a blister had developed and I will have a one inch scar on the top of my hand for life. Finally after I called the store from within the store after talking to four employees directly, someone finally came to see me. By this time I'd been waiting a half an hour and I had somewhere to be. I don't waste my time with a complaint unless it's legitimate and they didn't take it seriously. I injured myself on their site and it took a few days for someone to call me about it. Needless to say I won't be going back. read more

Every so often I go to Meijer to get things I didn't or couldn't get from the other stores I go to. Every time I go there I end up asking my husband to remind me to never return there. I am so tired of ringing up my own groceries because they have NO other registers open. Today they had other registers open when I got there but when I was ready to leave they had no cashiered registers open and they only had two of the any size order self serve registers open. Today is Saturday! I STOOD IN LINE FOR 25 MINUTES ONLY TO RING MYSELF UP. I DON'T WORK FOR MEIJER!!!! And my time is money, too. There was one woman in front of me that left the line frustrated so then there was only one couple in front of me with very little in their carts. He rang his stuff up but then the red light came on and we waited for quite a few minutes to get the only guy running all the self serve registers' attention and over to them to correct the problem. Then the woman starts ringing up her order. Well, she turned her one order into three orders, going through the process of paying, etc. 3 separate times. Then she was using coupons and they didn't want to work. Try and flag employee running self serve and get him over to where he's needed again and again. Finally, it's my turn. By now I'm achy, sweaty and pretty angry. I get through my ringing up rather quickly. The employee came over in the middle of me ringing up and tinkered with the register and opened it to get coupons out, etc. Never said excuse me or anything. Their registers never work properly, either. They are too sensitive as well as the registers often say something is on the belt that shouldn't be when it is okay for it to be there so you have to toss the item to the bottom section. Why they haven't set it up so you can bag as you go as EVERYONE else has is beyond me. So now I still need to pack my groceries, the girl behind me starts ringing her stuff up and I haven't even gotten the bar down yet to guard my stuff. I'm still moving groceries out of the way of the bar and she comes over and starts to tell that's what the bar is there for. Oh, really?! Maybe if she would keep her pants on. It's a really bad set up. Like I said I don't work for Meijer and I'm not going to rush around because the person behind me is pushy, especially after I just stood there for so long waiting. I think if they want to have those registers there you should get a discount for using them. Pretty soon they'll have the customers mopping the floors as well. It's B.S. How would Mr. Meijer like it if he bought a new car but before he left the dealership he had to put the tires on the car himself? It's bad business and a bad set up. GREEDY owners. read more

So if you've seen one Meijer you've seen them all right. Nothing different, better or worse about this Meijer. I do like the location. Other stores I run errands at are in the area so I can get most of my errands done in one general area. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The store is clean. I have the same complaint with this store as with all Meijer stores. Always out of sale items. I know they can't determine how many they would sell but come on! Every sale, every week they run out of things days before the sale is over. read more

I needed to purchase non-dairy and gluten free foods for my child who has special dietary needs. I encountered several employees, not vendors, who were unknowledgeble at the very least, lazy and apathetic at the most. Three employees had no clue about what I was looking for. Three managers were too lazy to care and sent me off on a wild goose chase. There was one employee in the grocery aisle who was very helpful, she directed me to the exact aisle to find the foods I needed for my child. I had to literally show another employee where things were that I needed, because he had no clue and worked in the dairy department. It is utterly ridiculous that Meijer employees who are managers and stock clerks are ignorant, and or too lazy to assist a customer with special dietary needs. Why aren't managers properly trained on how to interact with customers at this location? Why aren't all employees acquainted with special diet foods, and the locations of such items? And at the very least, why don't employees care to find out who does know where items are located when they themselves don't know? I don't know if it's the spirit of the company in general, or the regional location, or because it's located in Warren, but Meijer used to be my favorite grocery store. It is sad and frustrating knowing that your employees don't give a damn about customer service, the needs of the customer, or their own bottom line. I suppose your company and management figures that it doesn't matter if they don't care about all of their customers' needs, just as long as you still have other customers show up to purchase items. I gave it two stars because at least I did find some items to purchase for my child. read more

The outside of the store looks like something south of 8 mile as far as cleanliness. Staff is semi helpful, but on several occasions they just gave up even though what I needed had not yet been located. Lots of choices including vegan and gluten free. read more

This Meijer is nicer than the other ones in the area, which unfortunately means that during peak hours expect to wait in line for a bit.

What can you really say about a corporate grocery store that hasn't already been said? This Meijer has great produce and the attached gas station usually has lower gas prices than the surrounding area. The store is in general clean and stocked well. read more

I can look past the piss poor care taken of the products on the shelves if I could just get my products and leave. But 10 minutes in a self checkout line cause the useless (and I mean useless) girl working it seems busy rolling her eyes and looking stupid to actually do her job. Not the first time ghetto attitudes overtake ability and performance here. Will be my last time shopping here. I just can't tolerate employees who feel doing there job includes attitude and disrespect. New management is clearly needed read more

If you're going to this Meijer location, be prepared to spend A LOT of time at the check out. Posted sign states "2/$5", rings up $3.99. Sign says $3.49, rings up $4.99. I'm sure this is a corporate failure, as they program the registers, no excuse for it not to be fixed by the second day of the sale. Management knows there's a problem and is too lazy to fix. read more

Not my usual (or favorite) Meijer but we were in the area and stopped for a few things. My "regular" Meijer is the 13 mile/John R location and I will continue shopping there if I need to go to Meijer in the future. This Mound Road location seems smaller and not as clean as the other stores I have been to. My biggest complaint about this store is the shoe/clothing department. It's horrid. Certain members of my family are in the big & tall/plus size range and there is absolutely NOTHING available to them in the clothing line. Most other Meijer's in the area have plenty of items to choose from in this size range. If you do manage to find a particular size it's either an unattractive style or has stains on them. I lost count of how many items I saw that were smudged or had small stains on them. Very unkempt. I cannot complain about the grocery section as it seems to be stocked well although the layout is extremely inconvenient. Also, be wary of sales. There were several noticeable errors in sales markers when we shopped here and we were in for a surprise as we checked out. I probably wouldn't ever seek this Meijer out unless it was an emergency. read more

I have been shopping at Meijer since I was a kid. I love the stores and the prices. However, the restrooms are disgusting and it's not just this location either. I have not been in one of the restrooms that did not have feces smeared on something! It's always a game of where will the poop be. Sometimes the toilet seat, sometimes the floor. Rest assured that it won't be on the faucet handles. The animals that do this sort of thing surely don't wash their hands afterward. I don't think it's a lot to ask that someone check the bathrooms on a schedule. They could even hire a cleaning service to handle this if the employees cannot handle it. As a shopper that spends $5000 a year with this company I'm pretty disappointed in how little they care about this. Perhaps I will ask to use the employee restroom from now on. I'm sure nobody that works there uses the the same one they subject us to use read more
