I go to this Meijer all the time because they have a very large selection of food. I will occasionally stop by the pet section to grab cat or dog food. I decided to take a look at the beta fish because why not and noticed they are in pretty bad condition. There's algae growing inside the cups, that doesn't happen over night, and a lot of feces. Not only that, but the betas look EXTREMELY UNHEALTHY. There is one fish that's upside down, not dead, and cannot stay under the waterline. I'm assuming it's some sort of bloating. Why are you guys selling betas if you're not caring for them properly? I did notify one of the employees and he looked at me like "what am I supposed to do about it?" read more

I like coming to this location because they really have everything I'm looking for. They even have ollipop and they have hot foods. Probably one of my favorite stops when I need to stop and get electricity for my car. For a car charging they have just tesla, but since I have the adapter I can use my Mustang here. read more

Here is my feedback regarding an experience I had at this location: I walked out of this place not talking to anybody because no one in the building would be an appropriate person to complain to about this issue. This needs to go right up to the top dawg and some managers need to be canned for allowing this monstrosity to happen. This place has one restroom right? Yeah, so I walk down to this one restroom by the time I'm done shopping because I drink a lot of water and I gotta go pee a lot and I go into this bathroom and it stinks, pretty bad, ok lots of public bathrooms stink so what? I push on. I approach the first urinal and low and behild they're is someone's vomit caked up in there. Ok what about the other one? Out of order. Next two toilets? Out of order with giant big clogged up messes in them. Great! Last one? Just filled nearly to the rim with piss like all the way up. Just a couple gallons or so of straight lemonade. I shit you not, It doesn't get better. Toilet paper all over the floor. Lots of it has feces on it. I wish I could've taken pictures of this so some regional manager bossman could get to partake in my experience but I really don't have time to have those pictures on my phone right now. I gotta go home and eat my overpriced steak I just bought. And plus I don't think this site would allow me to attach images. Yeah so idek know what to really do. Guess I'll just hold it in and move on. Glad you guys can charge out the ass for everything and have 4 underpayed employees at the registers but not clean up and fix your one bathroom for weeks. This place is a disaster... granted they are under renovation but the way they arranged that place is like a rat maze. There were no good signs, the people who worked there did not look like they wanted to be there and when asked a few questions, they acted as life was drained out of them. I highly recommend during renovation that the store place appropriate signage. Maybe even a "warning" one before entering the store as I did not see that. Furthermore, my boyfriend was doing a Shipt order and the manager working the checkout lines walked out of the store looking for us as if we were stealing something. She got BUTT HURT that I did not bag my own groceries. the whole time she was bagging my groceries, she was mumbling under her breath about me NOT bagging my groceries. I useally just use the drive through pharmacy which is really convenient but I needed a bunch of dill with the tops which have the seeds for fermenting a batch of fresh cucumbers I bought at the Kalamazoo farmers market. Meijer is the only place I know that has them. And while i think of this Meijer as trashy, when I was there, I looked around and realized they have really good produce: lots of fresh greens, radishes, leeks, herbs, etc at good prices. I dont know if it is consistently this well stocked but it made think I could bare the large parking lot, the smell of beer as you enter, and the bussle of the crowd. So, picture this: my partner (who is a black man) and I (a white woman) go to leave this Meijer, and my partner picks up the groceries so that I can put the cart away, and all of a sudden the cart stops and starts beeping at us. Confused, I tried moving the cart and it wouldn't move. My boyfriend and I were so lost as to what was occurring. The exit employee comes up to us and says, "was he shopping with you??" I said yes, very confused. He was like "can I see your receipt?" And I said of course and handed it over. I was laughing still at the fact that the cart was completely stopped and stuck in place, and I asked him why it did that. He said, "oh it just does that sometimes." At this time my partner realized what was going on because he saw the clicker on the employees neck that stops the carts... take that how you must, but micro-aggressions are not a fun way to leave the grocery store! read more

I like the store, not too dirty. But as most stores I see how they raised the prices on items by $1-$5 and then offer 25% off like you are getting some special deal. Like most store do, they want to part fools from their money. But, the bathrooms here are just disgusting. I'm going to hold this in until I get home. The toilet Even the Diaper-Depot, I will not sit my baby on. Yuck. Clean these bathrooms and gain a star folks. You want your customers to want to be here. Paper rolls are on the floor in a broken dispenser. You need to get with the times and put an automatic flushing toilets. Nobody wants to touch those disgusting handles. I live in Los Angeles and we don't have Meijer stores in California. I needed some last minute gifts and this was closer than Target. I was pretty impressed! The store is gigantic. It's like going to Walmart but doesn't feel like a warehouse like Walmart, so shopping there is more pleasant. The self checkout lines were long so I went to a regular register and it went quickly. It reminds me of a glorified Walmart with regards to the people walking in and out of it along with the cleanliness of the store itself. Shave Rd Meijer, even with the construction going on inside, is much more tolerable then this one. I hate giving out 1 and 2 stars, especially to a Meijer, but this one is for the dogs. The VP family likes Meijer. They have a really nice selection of whole, organic foods at a fairly reasonable price. The Meijer on Westnedge, however, is not our favorite. It is usually understocked and dirty. For some strange reason, this location never has the same products as the Meijer on Gull Road and the staff typically does not have any idea how to acquire the products (for example, Meijer brand Organics Unsweetened Applesauce - the staff was absolutely perplexed!). Save yourself the time and energy and simply drive to the Meijer on Gull Road. The produce section is always neatly stocked and the employees who work the meat counter are always helpful. The store is arranged in a way that makes sense (no jinky aisles in the middle of the store filled with cleaning products) and the floors are clean! read more

This is our Meijer of choice; I give Meijer overall 5 stars because of their prices, quality of staff, and product variety. This one gets minor point reductions for cleanliness (average at best) and vendor control (some of the regular stocking vendors have REALLY bad attitudes). Produce and meat quality for me has been good, and many of the staff have been there 10+ years. The deli staff here is the best of all locations - friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. What I love about this location is the diversity of clientele. Want to see ALL the different types of people who live in the Kalamazoo area? Show up to this Meijer for 15+ minutes at 8am, noon, 5pm, and 10pm any day of the week. You will see an example of people from every socioeconomic background and age group. Within one minute, I saw meth heads, a young family, middle aged hunters, and a retired, millionaire bank executive. People-watching at this Meijer is unparalleled. read more

This particular Meijers is closest to my workplace and on my last visit I can say that it is a filthy disgusting dump. It's also their most profitable store, too. The floor is disgusting and the store looks like the Walking Dead ransacked it. I hadn't the heart to tell there employees about the conditions, they're hip deep in it all on their own. This is a mark of a company that doesn't really honestly care about their stores, just the bottom line. There conditions are worse than a awful Walmart. That's shameful. In Safeway and Albertsons there is something called "3s a crowd" where additional lines would open up if backups take place. All the lines here were 5-10 people deep. This morning we had the pleasure of joining many others shopping at this location, only to find the store management had deemed it necessary to open only two checkout lanes for those of us with overflow grocery carts. This is the absolute worst meijer I've ever been to!! Don't go here unless you want to wait 10-20 minute in line to check out, even if it's the 12 items or less lane. I've gone there multiple times and there are lines wrapping around to the aisle from the self checkout. I had to actually call the manager myself and tell him that the cashier needed help. Every time I go there, even when it's not even that busy, there's a crazy wait because they never have enough lanes open. I'm not usually impatient but when you only have a few things to buy you shouldn't have to be at the store for 30 mins.... It is pretty clean. They don't have a very good selection of produce so I recommend somewhere else unless you don't buy fruits & veggies. read more
