Another great visit while in town. The place was busy but we were assisted immediately and with kindness. Cookies, Almond bars, cream cheese brownie, and a slice of chocolate cake were out for the taking leaving some options for the other customers coming in. Stop in for a sweet before hitting the town.

We bought two cakes and several pastries for my daughter's birthday and loved them. The croissants were amazing! I usually am not a fan of macaroons but my daughters each got one and I have to say they were pretty good. The eclairs are soooo good! I'm disappointed I hadn't tried this bakery sooner.

All the baked good looked amazing. The ones I got were enjoyable. It's a little pricier. My friend had their almond croissant and it was the best she had. I enjoyed their cherry cheesecake. Cookies were pretty good. Was bummed they are closed Sunday and Monday, was trying to go back sooner!

Fantastic service and amazing baked goods! Came in to try one or two things and left with a box full- my treadmill is going to stay busy lol. The key lime bars are exceptional. Super tart but not overly so, and just the right crust to filling ratio. I love the cake bites also, they have several different flavors and the ones I've tried were all very good. The staff here is very friendly and helpful, it was a pleasure to visit and I'll definitely return!

First timer during Covid-19. They were great and set up involved only allowing one person inside the shop at a time. A menu was placed on their door and once you knew what to order you could enter if no one was inside, of someone was you would just wait. You could also order through the phone though. The cookies were okay, I'm also not a big cookie person so they were nothing special. But the cake bites were delicious. They were chewy, like a moist chewy sensation. So if you're a texture person, I would double think about getting them. Cupcakes were also amazing! German chocolate had a delightful authentic chocolate taste to them. Macaroons were good I'm picky with mine but they did me justice.

Scones, baby. These are blueberry scones.

We are, it seems, not in the fan club for this bakery. We have sampled over the years breads, cakes, pastries, and confections by this bakery, and each and every time we can think of other bakeries that we prefer. We prefer oatmeal bread and croissants and Challah bread from Sarkozy's, we like the pastries from McKenzie's, and we like everything that comes out of Zingerman's bakeries (Ann Arbor). I think the bread that the Garden Griddle (Paw Paw) makes for restaurant use is better. The scones that the Victorian Bakery makes are okay - actually, nobody makes a better than average scone around here (the late chef of now defunct Cafe 237 made the best scones). If you invite us to an afternoon gathering or a baby shower then there'd better be awesome coffee and a Boonzaaijer cake. A cake from Bert's Bakery is an acceptable substitute. Sarkozy's also makes for Rosh Hashanah Challah bread with golden raisins. Yumm. So the Victorian Bakery gets a big yawning "okay" from us. We don't hate it; we just think there are more interesting and satisfying bakeries in SW Michigan. Would I go to a catered event and turn up my nose at a Victorian Bakery chocolate croissant? Nah, probably not. But would I ever seek them out from the bakery myself? Nah, probably not. Maybe only the scones. And who else bothers making with scones in this city? Few. We do think it was swell they moved the business to the North Side, though we always wondered how long they were going to tolerate being in the flood plain on Crosstown Parkway.

Costumer service was horrible from one particular lady. I've never had an issue before but this really just rubbed me the wrong way.

Pastries of the highest quality and taste. Best in town by far. Fresh baked bread with crusty crust. Worth stopping by.

I've heard great things about Sarkozy Bakery for years, but never had a chance to stop in since…read morethey close at 5 pm or earlier. We happened to be in town during lunch time so Nate and I stopped in for a quick bite. Their lunch menu includes some sandwiches, a couple salads, pizza, soup, and quiche. I got the ham and cheese sandwich, and Nate got an 8" pizza. The food came out pretty quickly, and I liked the sandwich. It had plenty of mayo and thickly sliced ham and cheese. It came with a little cup of pickled veggies, which I enjoyed. I had a bite of the pizza, which was very tasty! The prices were great - I think my sandwich was $7.50. We also got some pastries for dessert - I chose the cherry danish, and Nate got the pistachio croissant. Both were very tasty and not too sweet. The vibe of this bakery is more old-school and homey than some of the more "trendy" bakeries that I'm used to - not a bad thing, just a little different. They sell loaves of bread, cookies, and pastries. I loved their merch, too - cute pins, hats, tote bags, etc. They have brunch every Sunday and they were swapping out some art while we were there. It's a cute spot and I'm glad I finally got to check it out.

A complete nightmare! BEWARE!!…read more The owner Amy is full of herself and has absolutely no professional etiquette whatsoever. Starting with her inability to answer straight forward questions and ending with her backing out of contract and cancelling our order 50 days before my wedding after I already paid the down payment! She cancelled the contract and refunded the down payment I made to hold the date - leaving us to find another cake vendor on short notice! Her excuse? She has worked "for Bert's for 42 years and made over 10,000 cakes and feels like no matter what she does, she won't make me happy." Photo attached. All I did was ask about the pricing for the samples because no other cake vendor had required payment for samples so I didn't know how much they cost. I also asked her which location we should visit to try the samples. Lastly, I told her that I couldn't believe that she was charging us the same amount to deliver the cake across the street as she would charge us if she were driving across town. I didn't say I wouldn't pay for delivery... I just told her I was surprised that she would do that. The other cake vendor we were considering wasn't charging us a delivery fee at all and they are located 30 miles away from our church! I was put off by how unprofessional she was from the beginning when I first reached out last fall. The only reason I decided to finally give Amy a chance is because she was cheaper and right across the street from our church. Now I understand, you get what you pay for...... because Amy is a MESS. Absolutely awful and I feel sorry for anyone who has had to deal with her. I saw in other reviews that she is described as rude, cheap, disorganized, snobby, and that she talks down to customers. I can confirm that she is ALL of these things and worse. The cake isn't even that good and at this point I'd rather buy one from Sam's Club than have to work with Amy and her staff. She doesn't send you a contract until you pay her a down payment, which is strange. Typically you create a contract/agreement, have both parties sign it, and then you ask for the deposit. The contract looked incredibly sketchy - Words were misspelled, font was all over the place, punctuation and grammar were hideous. Photo attached. Just so you know, AMY - Nobody cares HOW MANY YEARS you've been making cakes, HOW MANY CAKES you've made in your lifetime or HOW GREAT YOU THINK THEY TASTE if you continue to be a an inconsiderate, egotistical, uneducated, defensive, stubborn old woman who can't figure out how to treat people and keep your word. That's just bad business... I don't care who you are. I'll "wish you the best" as well...
