I have to say that Meijer pharmacy in Merrillville Indiana, is such a great place to get all your pharmacy needs. They are always so friendly and helpful. They take their time in answering questions about your medications. I just tested positive for COVID and had a few questions and I spoke with Ryan, I believe he was the pharmacist that helped me. I was feeling really bad, and he was so patient and kind, I know they are very busy, but that means a lot to the consumer, I used to use a different pharmacy, but they were extremely, rude, they made me feel like I was bothering them. That's probably why they are having at ok close a bunch of them. Maybe customer service is the place to start, because they obviously don't know how to treat their consumers. Thank you Meijer for your great staff. JG read more

This pharmacy is one of the best I have ever been to. All of their employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Prescriptions are always ready on time. read more

Tim the Pharmacist is rude. The techs are incompetent. I was rushed off the phone w the tech she was unable to answer questions. They all are probably miserable due to having to work in retail, but thats not a reason to be rude and rush patients/customers off the phone. Recommendation: More Customer Service Training !!! read more

This pharmacy is crap! I need to find it where to have my prescription sent & "FOR OUR SAFETY WE DO NOT DISCLOSE THAT" Ma'am I need to know where to have it sent read more

** note that Im only giving 1 star because I have to leave at least 1 star in order to leave my review..otherwise I would give ZERO stars** Ive used this pharmacy since this location opened. However, over the past couple years this pharmacy has definitely gone downhill !! The employees have developed nasty attitudes, acting like they are doing you a huge favor by kinda doing their jobs. Such a negative atmosphere. Today was the final straw. Multiple times Ive been told my prescriptions would be ready in an hour, and not only are they not ready in an hour, they won't be ready for days because they need to be ordered. Thats not necessary a huge problem, the problem is nobody bothers to inform the customer and the customers are running back and forth. Worse yet is finding out its delayed by a couple days, then a couple days go by and you go to pick it up and wow, the same script is delayed AGAIN and AGAIN they dont bother to inform the customer. I've had all my scripts now transferred to CVS and will not deal with Meijer Pharmacy again. I would rather pay a few extra dollars if necessary to get great customer service where I feel valued as a customer and the employees are pleasant and helpful always!! read more

My son needed a prescription filled and the staff refused to tell me if they had it available. They claimed it was for their safety that they are not allowed access to that information, yet the previous day I was told not to have another dose of that same medication sent to them because it wasn't in stock (clearly they had access to the information then). The technician was rude to me and wouldn't let me speak, whereas the pharmacist at least was calm and said they would have to speak to their staff about breaking protocol. Meijer pharmacy really needs to get on the same page about what is allowed and how that news should be delivered! read more

For some reason there's always a clueless pharmacy tech at the window/counters when I pick up my medicine. This last visit was my last straw. Not only was it clear that there's a disconnect between the tech and pharmacist when it came to what was required in filling the script but she proceeded to ask me questions that would have been better answered by the pharmacist or by reading the instructions attached to the box it comes in, seeing as I do not have the credentials to mix the medications myself. Then she proceeded to catch what I assume was a horrible attempt at an attitude, in which I quickly asked her to get the pharmacist (he managed to solve the issue in less than 30 seconds). I let it slide the first time they sent me home with an unmixed prescription because the script is a difficult one to fill and Meijers was the only place who could order and fill it, but after I no longer need it, I will never use another Meijers pharmacy again unless they better train their pharmacy techs in not only properly reading instructions that come with the medication to ensure the safety of the patient, but also manners. Not everyone is immediately going to be a difficult customer, so please don't treat every customer with a bad attitude. UPDATE: Just discovered when I got home that they wrote instructions specifically made for the pharmacist to use to mix the prescription under the patient notes with the intentions of selling it and having me do it myself. read more

Meijer Pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - Merrillville, Indiana

This store is terrible. They make you wait and wait to pick up medicine. Have at least 5 computers, claim that all of them went down and can't pick up any medicine right now. Except the one obviously still using hers. Said to come back in an hour. I just want to get home, don't feel good, and cannot get my meds. Never had this problem in any other pharmacy. Explained to staff I don't feel good, and just want to get home. Can't understand. So unprofessional. They obviously don't care about the customer and customer service. Will not be back read more

Very interesting staffing choices very slow with fills. Would recommend Walgreens across the street as they are much more effecient

You guys are the WORST PHARMACY EVERY!!! Rude, clueless, no communication skills with other techs. There definitely needs to be new management and new employees. Once my insurance changes I need to get my meds from another pharmacy. I will make sure to tell everyone I know to AVOID your service unless they absolutely have to use you. I hope these reviews are taken seriously. read more

The pharmacy refused to refund/credit for selling me the wrong prescription. No question, error on their end. I hadn't even left store parking lot and meds were still in heat sealed bag. I understand not wanting possibly tampered meds, it they screwed up and refused to correct the issue. read more

This place would not give me any medication for my dog. It was the weekend and she was in so so much pain.. I begged them and told them my dog was in pain... They had a guy who was working with the pharmacist at the time..both were ignorant and cruel..My dog ended up passing that weekend and in excruciating pain.. These people are heartless..I will never forget what happened to my poor 12 yr old lab that I adopted a yr and a half prior to her passing..these people didn't care a bit..they are rude and heartless.. read more

So I tried refilling my script but it was out of stock at the moment. I got a message saying when it would be ready by. So around that time, I decided to call to make sure it was in stock before I made the trip out there. From where I was, it was a 40 minute drive. They assured me it was ready for pick up. Imagine my anger when I get to the window and they say that they won't be in stock til the following day. Not only that, but the lady I was talking to said sorry have a good day and walked away as I was in the middle of speaking. Don't waste your time dealing with them because they will 100% waste yours and will not feel bad about it either. read more

I wouldn't come here if my prescriptions weren't free at this location . This pharmacy has the worst customer service possible. There is always a long line, they are always ALWAYS rude. Not one person behind the counter even looks like they enjoy their job, and it reflects on the treatment of the customers. They speak over your questions, even if it's through a phone call, and there's always a deep breath. The deep breath of "I've heard this question a million times" but that's what you're there for, a service to the public and answer questions that WE certainly don't have the answers to. Y'all need your attitudes adjusted. If you're tired of your job, get a different one. Take a vacation, because you being burned out at your job doesn't console the people who usually don't know what they've been prescribed and may be nervous about taking, or, simply have questions in general. read more

I went here for 6 months. every time I went there was some problem. I have finally had enough of them. impolite, unprofessional, and fairly incompetent. ghetto pharmacy. read more

Wish I read the other reviews before I came here. Handed the pharmacy tech a prescription that was cash pay. Was told they couldn't tell me the cost until they filled the prescription which would take about an hour. Almost 2 hours later and still no meds. Waited in line to get the paper script back to take elsewhere and was told I needed to go to the drop off window. Waited in line at the drop off window... Waited... Waited... waited. The lady at the checkout counter finally came over and handed me the paper prescription. Won't be coming back here again. read more

I just walked out of this pharmacy without having the prescription filled, was rudely treated by clerk when asked about a price for a script using GoodRX, then when I told her to stop being rude her manager/pharmacist intervened and stuck up for her and escalated a situation which never should have incurred in the first place. I diffused this ugly scene by walking away. I will never go into this Meier Store in Merrillville Indiana again, and I strongly suggest you do the same. read more

I hate visiting the Meijer pharmacy in Merrillville, IN. If my mother did not need her meds, and if I was not going to be charged with assault, I would have opened all of those pill bottles and shoved them down the employees (that's right PLURAL) throats. They are rude and speak to customers in a tone that is so unpleasant you hate you're sick. Trying to convince my mother to have her prescriptions moved to Walgreens. I have encountered over 6-7 different staff and I must say, whomever trained them did an awesome job of developing JERKS!!!! And here's the bonus: Today I picked up my mother's prescription and the young lady ringing me out was obviously agitated that we caused her to work a little beyond her clock out time. She began throwing the bottles on the counter, mumbling "I should've been gone 5 minutes ago. I'm supposed to be off". GUUURRRRL WE DON'T CARE, TAKE IT UP WITH YOUR MANAGER. read more

This pharmacy is terrible. I waited to get up there they told me to look up a card and it took another half hour for them to get back to me and said my insurance card isit's no good. I went home and called the insurance and they said no problem with card and they called Meijer pharmacy to see what the problem was. The lady with the insurance said they were rude. Don't plan on going back to this pharmacy. read more
