CVS Pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - Hobart, Indiana

CVS is the worse company I have EVER COME ACROSS after living in many states and using hundreds of different pharmacies! This also includes the Minute Clinic! I had to use them in November 2024 when I got ill, I had a copay for $40.00 which I paid. The doctor told me to come back a week later to get my flu shot and COVID shot, at which time I asked her if there would be a charge for that because I am a senior citizen and Medicare covers my immunizations. I can walk into any Walmart, Sam's club, Costco, etc. and I pay 0 dollars. She assured me there would be NO CHARGE, so I went back a week later for both shots. Well since November and it is now June 2025 I have been harassed by CVS trying to get $40.00 from me!! I told them THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN....PERIOD!! This harassment has got to stop so I'm going to take LEGAL ACTION with them now! Everyone knows seniors don't pay for those 2 immunizations......everyone except CVS. 5/30/2025 The lead pharmacist is racist..He would not allow the staff to use any type of discount on my prescriptions like they do every month.. I called corporate, and they applied the discounts so I drove right back, he came to the window and went behind corporates back and deleted the discounts, then said he was going to cancel my prescription and closed the window on me. I drove home in disbelief to then realize he kept my license, so I had to drive back a 3rd time. He lied and said they tried to call about my license, which is false.. He profiled me right away, treated me like scum, and made sure I was paying full price or nothing at all.. Corporate called the next morning and the lead pharmacist quickly added the discounts, but I wouldn't ever go back there to face that racist man and changed back to Walgreens after many years with CVS.. CVS corporate was fantastic, but beware of Mr. L.. if you don't have insurance, be ready to pay FULL price or go to Walgreens and leave Happy.. One CVS is pretty much like another, you might think. That's not necessarily true. Oh sure, the store layout is the same; many of the products are the same; and the hours are pretty much the same. What distinguishes one CVS from another is the quality of the staff. And in this CVS store, across from a hospital and near senior apartments and assisted living complexes, the pharmacy staff makes the difference. Visiting on a late Tuesday afternoon, there are more than 10 people working in the pharmacy area. This is a busy, busy department. There were always customers, and some of them required extra care and handling. How do I know all this, you may ask? Well, I was one of those customers. Without going into all the personal drama my elderly family member has experienced, I needed to get some drugs to combat a serious infection, and I needed them NOW. The antibiotic prescribed by the physician needed to be administered hourly - yes, hourly - throughout the day. We had a few sample doses, but we needed to get a larger supply. I waited for more than an hour, and the length of that wait had nothing to do with the CVS staff. They followed up. They made calls. They checked the computer. And they checked on me. Finally, I got the prescription, and I took off for the assisted living place. Get there, get to the nurses' station, and find out, one of the drugs was wrong. I had to tear back to CVS, only to find out the doctor's staff had prescribed the wrong item. The CVS staff got it straightened out. Friends, there were even more complications than I can tell you here, and when it was all over, and I was home again, I curled up with the kitty and endured a sleepless night. But none of the problems were caused by the CVS Pharmacy staff. Instead, with hordes of customers, they took time with me, maintained their good humour (more than I was doing), and got everything resolved. I am more grateful than I can tell you. Trying to deal with a medical emergency, drugs covered by medicare and pharma and what have you, is incredibly stressful. If I could give this pharmacy a ZERO...I would. I ordered a refill on a prescription on Friday morning....thinking that I would pick it up on Saturday morning, even though I'm told it will be ready Friday afternoon. Ok....go to CVS on Saturday morning at 9:00am. The pharmacy is closed up with their metal shutters in place. I ask someone if the pharmacy will open today. She says that the pharmacist is RUNNING LATE...and they THINK the pharmacy "MIGHT open by 10:00 or 10:30". Uhhhh...WHAT?? is that a thing? You can just show up whenever? Luckily, I can wait. I go back at noon. I'm then told my prescription isn't ready ...they can "expedite" it if I want to wait 30 minutes. The technician unapologetically tells me that they "are behind". Again...WHAT?? Expedited shouldn't take 30 minutes...ESPECIALLY SINCE I ORDERED THIS YESTERDAY and was told I could pick it up YESTERDAY!!!I will now be making my THIRD and LAST trip to CVS to pick up a prescription because the pharmacist and staff can't get their shit together. And then I will be transferring my prescription to a pharmacy with decent, ON TIME service. Unreal. If I showed up at "maybe" 10 it 10:30 to my job...I would be fired. But with SO many people taking so many prescriptions...CVS is obviously raking in the dough..so much so that they don't have to care about customer service. And before anyone says anything about safety...my prescription is for blood glucose monitors...yep, prepackaged and slap a label on. 30 hours to put that label on....must be a super complicated and labor intensive labeling process. I have been to many pharmacies over my life and this CVS is by far the best. I say this because the staff at this pharmacy goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure you are taken care of, while being prompt and caring all at the same time. This has been every time I go there or call I get the same high quality treatment no matter who takes care of me. It is such a great feeling to know that at least a few people working in customer service still treat customers w/ respect. I will always get my meds. filled here because to me quality service and my time is worth more than the difference in cost of prescriptions.
