The only shop my family and I go to. I will drive my car back from Ohio just to revisit this shop. Honest, high quality, and well priced work. I frequently recommend Mehta and I will continue to do so. read more

Very knowledgeable and capable at very reasonable prices. Also, had the car ready as and when it was promised. Great to deal with

As a new arrival from California, I wasn't sure where to go for vehicle care. And I tend to rely on reviews to orient me. There is a reason why this shop receives such high reviews (maybe many reasons). I'm here writing a review because: I needed air in my tires and windshield wiper fluid for the winter. I happened to stop by and they took care of me. And on that occasion, they didn't even charge me. That says a lot about the quality of people who work here. Midwest kindness! They got the job done well, and are generous. read more

I have been going to Mehta for many years. Very, very good family business. Talented mechanics with a massive broad range. I always get my oil changes from the dealer if they have a special and then get caught up on any service notices, recalls, etc but then if there is an issue I head to Mehta for the repair. read more

I have gone to Mehta Motors for over 12 years. Mehta Motors has kept my old Chrysler Town & Country and my daughter's even older Chevy Tracker running in top condition, and affordably! I couldn't be more grateful to the Mehta Motors team. They are always completely honest and fair. They are fast, and they are thorough. I cannot say enough good things about Mehta Motors in Elmhurst! read more

I researched auto shops for awhile before choosing here. I come from a small town so when I started going to Elmhurst University I wanted to support another small and trusted business like the one I have at home. Mehta Motors is great with pricing and are transparent about everything. They give itemized receipts and say what looks like might need to be replaced in the future. I was worried about getting ripped off, but this company is very truthful and are good with prices. I recommend them to everyone that asks me for a car shop to go to. read more

This is a family owned business, and Shazad is friendly, kind, and honest. I can never believe how quickly they get our cars done, and it is always fixed. Who doesn't want a neighborhood mechanic who remembers you every time you call. Go here! read more

I'm not a regular at this place, but my one experience with them was excellent and they deserve a laudatory review. The ECM on my Honda Civic died, and Mehta diagnosed the problem just before I was heading out on vacation. The control module is an $800 part when purchased new, and I just wanted to get the car running as cheaply as possible. They agreed to keep the car while I was gone and install a used ECM I had shipped to them via eBay (for about $40.00). The part arrived, and it didn't work due to a minor difference I overlooked. They actually researched the correct part, emailed me the info I needed to locate another one, and agreed to keep the car for another week until it arrived. They installed it and it worked great, and I only paid about $400 total, which included some other work. They really went above and beyond. Recommended. read more

Can't say thank you enough to Shazad and team ! Rush hour traffic and our out fan motor goes out! Car overhears and we are driving from Chicago to NC Long story short after stressful situation we found Mehta and they went out of their way to get us back on the road Fair price and honesty , Thank You all ! read more

These guys are simply awesome. Service with a smile and honest. The sons who work here are also super cute to boot ;).

Mehta is a family owned operation and it shows. Their service is exceptional and the quality is outstanding. The family also owns the car wash next door as well. Ask them to run it though after servicing the car. read more

Mehta Motors was recommended to me by a friend who always buys cars with over 100,000 miles on them, and is pretty frugal. I had been to a local Toyota dealer with my wife's Sienna and was told it needed a new timing belt, and a lot of other work totaling about $2K. I decided to give Mehta a try - we dropped the car off on Sunday night (there's a key drop), and Shazad called mid Monday morning and said they'd looked the car over and the water pump should be replaced at the same time as the timing belt (it turned out it had a leak when they started the work), and they load-tested the battery saying it was borderline. We got the car back mid-day on Tuesday (the supplier had sent them the wrong water pump) and it was $1150! Based on my friend's recommendation and our experience, I give it 5-stars! read more

I needed a new battery. I called about 11:30, the asked if I could come in around 1 PM. They tested the battery (it was really old), put in a new battery at what I thought was a very fair price, and had me out of there by 1:30. Amazing! Nice people as well. read more

I just moved to Elmhurst and needed to take my car to a mechanic. After looking around some Yelp reviews I decided to try Mehta. My older Mercedes had a gasket oil leak and a faulty alternator. The guys were able to diagnose it and then repair it using rebuilt parts to help me save some money. I am very happy with the service and the value I got. Shazad also seemed like a nice and reasonable guy who is customer focused. I'll definitely be back for future repairs and regular maintenance. read more

I have lived in town for 10 years and driven by Mehta Motors nearly daily for the same. I finally got fed up with the dealership machine and took my car to Shazad and Mehta Motors for a second opinion. They now have a lifelong customer! The personal service, attention to detail, going the extra mile (literally) - I find this awesome services hard to find these days. I love to keep it local, and I'm happy to do that with my car now! Thanks! read more

While driving to office I have seen the left indicator of my car was blinking faster. Googled and found it may be just a bulb replacement or could be more. Need to drive back in dark and it was not a good idea to wait till next day. Thought of trying to fix by my own first, then changed my mind and called Mehta motors(found from yelp). The guy ask me to go go there. I went there during lunch time and they fixed it in 5 mins, it was only bulb replacement though but still pretty fast compared to a typical auto shop. I spent total 10 mins there max.And how much they charged ?? $5 yes you read it right only $5 .. that is only the price of the bulb, they didn't take a single penny for replacing it. I was surprised. Though it was a small work, the attitude and honesty they showed, I felt privileged. Definitely going back there in future if needed. P.S : once my head light stopped working and called firestone for quote to replace just one bulb, they quoted $83, Big robbers. Then I did it by myself. read more

I brought my 2011 Mini Cooper Clubman into Bill Jacobs in Aurora for a small repair and was told I would need an additional $3000 repair. I declined to repair my car and instead brought my car into Mehta Motors. I showed them the report from Bill Jacobs and asked them to look at my car. To my astonishment, Mehta told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car. I waited a year and a half to write this review to be fair to the first dealership but at this point it is obvious they were trying to steal from me. Mehta could have easily made a lot of quick money by confirming the first dealership's diagnosis and offer to "fix" my car. I can't emphasize how impressed I am with their honesty. I will take my Mini to them for any future repairs. read more

I decided to check this place out after the BMW dealer wanted to charge a lot of money. The staff was pretty nice & seemed to care about the customers needs. However, as a woman who knows nothing about cars, I think they may have gotten over as far as price. I guess the $110/hr labor charge isn't outrageous compared to a dealer but still high. I work in an occupation where I'm surrounded by former auto mechanics but didn't find the time to ask questions. I paid for all of my brakes to be replaced & they said it was a 3hr job. Only to find out later, it shouldn't have taken 1/2 the time. It's unfortunate because I told the manager I was looking to get all my repairs done at this shop if they were reasonable & had fair prices. I'd even received a quote on another service & the cost was a little higher than the dealer!! I was totally confused but soon realized I'd left the quote from BMW of Scahaumburg of $645 laying on the seat. So when he quoted $475 I should have been happy. But they failed to realize I had another quote from BMW in IN for $445 in my purse. Red flag. My advice to anyone who's like me & mechanically challenged. Ask around first or Google how long your job should take. No, I will not be back because the trust is gone. read more

This place is honest- they tell you the truth about your car's condition an only recommend fixing things that need to be fixed. They have been spot on every time I've brought my car(s) to them. Their repairs are timely and finished when promised. read more

After yet another fantastic experience with them I feel compelled to write a nice review. I started going here several years ago when I lived in the area, but even though I've moved into the city I still make sure I schedule my maintenance with Mehta Motors when I come out to the burbs. Here are a couple highlights of my experiences with them: My AC and heater control stopped working a while back and I talked to a couple other mechanics who said they didn't know how big of a job it would be to fix it, and that it might end up costing quite a bit. Because they seemed pretty certain it would be hard to fix and would cost significant money, I put it off for a long time. When getting something else tuned up at Mehta Motors I asked them about this AC/heater control panel issue. Shazad instantly said he had a guess as to what it probably was, and in under 5 minutes they diagnosed it, showed me a rusted part, and told me it would cost about $20 for a new part! I was shocked that they were so familiar with issues that other professionals were clueless about. Their staff has a ton of knowledge and experience. On a different trip when getting an oil change they told me they found a dead opossum wedged in a corner under the hood. I took a look at it and it was huge and pretty gross. They removed it for me for no charge, and we even had a good laugh about it. They could have easily made me feel bad for bringing this dead animal into their garage, but they genuinely made me feel at home and like part of the family. And they had a sense of humor about it when they printed my bill, adding a line for "Free One-Time-Only Dead Possum Removal With Oil Change". This last story is probably the best. I was on a road trip to the mountains in Virginia, with very sparse cell phone service. At one point my car started getting extremely loud and I became concerned, especially since there weren't any towns nearby. I really didn't know what to do, so I called the guys I know and trust at Mehta Motors. Based on my description he had some clues, but then I sent him a cell phone video with sound and he somehow seemed pretty sure of what was wrong. He told me my exhaust flex pipe probably had a leak and that I should just make sure I don't keep the car on while standing still or else the fumes would get into the cabin. He told me the engine is still working fine, though, so as long as I can get to a shop and don't smell fumes coming into the cabin I'd be ok. The first shop I found after driving a very long time to the nearest town was a Walmart auto shop, and the mechanic told me they don't do this kind of work, but he still looked at it and told me I blew a gasket and that driving on it was dangerous. However, I finally found a mechanic who could get under the car to take a look and he told me the exhaust flex pipe was leaking and he just needed to replace it for $150. So the crazy part of this story is that Mehta Motors was able to diagnose the problem on the phone better than a Walmart employee in person! And they did this for totally for free! Over the years I've asked them about several issues with my car and they always give me all the information to make a good decision. They've saved me a lot of money by not up-selling me on service I don't need, and they actively tell me when I should not worry about something. I truly recommend this family owned business. read more

Shazad and his team are great. Keep you informed about the status of the work, and his prices are very competitive.

It is a horrible place. The front desk guy is kinda arrogant. The price is extremely expensive !!! The labor rate was the most expensive one in the city. Do not buy parts there! Across the street is an auto parts shop which is cheaper when it comes to parts! read more

Shazad and team at Mehta are always honest, very nice, and get the job done right. We take our Land Rover and Saab here every time after the dealer tries to over charge us. They do the work at a fair price and normally tell us when work does not need to be done that the dealer is trying to push. Make them your go to for car repair. read more

I brought my BMW 530i in for a belt and pulley issue. Service and quality was excellent. Price was better than expected. Great guys.

I rely on Mehta for all of my auto care. I have had them do basic services the oil changes and new tires as well as more complex work like hunting down an electrical problem. They are friendly, communicative, and fast. The family owns the car wash next door, so they always run my car through the wash before returning it to me. Bonus! I highly recommend Mehta. read more

I recently moved to Elmhurst and needed a new mechanic. I checked the reviews of several places on Yelp and decided to try Mehta due to their high reviews. I was not at all disappointed. I am a 27 year old woman and I do not know anything about cars, so it would be very easy to take advantage of me, but it was apparent from my first phone call that this was not going to happen. Everyone I spoke with seemed genuinely concerned about my vehicle and my concern about cost. After my vehicle was looked at, I was called and had the needed repairs explained to me. The man I spoke with spent over 10 min on the phone with me explaining what was wrong with my car and the different options available to me. My vehicle was repaired the same day it was brought in, and I ended up paying a lot less than I had anticipated. It is obvious that this is a business run with integrity and that they care about their customers. I have found my new mechanic. read more

Alright, this is my second time using these guys and I've got to say that I'm most impressed with their customer service. They did a full break job for me (rotors, pads, brake fluid flush) and gave me a heads up on items that need work in the near future. The quality seems high and they do not talk down, act pushy or give you the hard sell. I would definitely recommend them to my friends/family in S. Elmhurst. read more

I've used Mehta Motors twice now. I can't say enough good things about their work, service, and kindness. With an appointment both times Shazad called me and explained what was done to the car prior to me coming in to pick it up. I thought I needed something completely replaced, and was prepared to just pay for that. Per Shazad's suggestion, he performed an inspection in attempt to more cost effectively repair the part rather than replace it. Turns out he was able to repair the part rather than replace it. All in all, I got an oil change and had the issue resolved for under $100. Many people dread having their vehicle serviced because they may not know what services, prices, etc. are fair. At Mehta Motors, the consumer need not have such a worry. Mehta Motors won't steer you wrong. They understand that repeat business is more valuable than squeezing more money from an uninformed customer. Elmhurst is lucky to have a business like Mehta Motors. Keep it up! read more

My dad recently took his X5 in for an oil change and vehicle check. He usually takes it to the dealership but I told him to go to Mehta Motors because they were a certified shop that had good reviews. The dealership quoted him around $260 for a vehicle check and an oil change. Mehta Motors only charged him $102 for the oil change and did the vehicle check free! On top of that they fixed an issue with the rear seatbelt and topped off the windshield wiper fluid for free too! We will definitely be coming back! read more

Mehta Motors is absolutely fantastic! I came here back in June after reading reviews online and talking with Shazad through e-mail. I had quite a few issues with my car (possible oil leak, SES light on with emissions test coming up, passenger air bag malfunction, a vacuum leak, AND the spark plugs needed to be replaced), some of which needed to be fixed ASAP...Oh Boy! I was a bit worried not knowing what some of the issues were exactly so I had no prices to compare to. However, Shazad explained EVERYTHING to me while they worked on diagnosing and fixing the issues. He honestly made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. When I went to pick my car up Shazad spoke with me about a couple recommendations for upcoming service and I really appreciated the patience that he had in explaining everything. I will definitely come back here. Thank you so much! read more

This is a great local shop. They service our Cadillac SUV and do higher quality work at a substantially lower cost than the Cadillac dealer. First shop I've been to that actually came in lower than their price estimate. I heartily recommend checking them out. Finally, a shop that takes pride in the work they do! read more

I used Mehta Motors once before and the service was standard. The second time I attempted to schedule an emergency appointment (my car was overheating) the establishment did not answer the phone and did not return my call. Their stated business hours begin at 7:30 am. I tried calling from 7:30 to 9:00 am and then went elsewhere. They never did return my call. Terrible service!! Do not bother with this company. I found a better place on Butterfield Road that actually answers the phone during business hours, was professional and prompt. read more
