Word of mouth convinced me to go here . I always make an appointment and they get it done on the same day . Recently I had a check engine light turn on . On the way I got gas and the light went out. They plugged in an OBD and no specific codes showed. No charge to scan for codes . They are on top of maintenance schedules , if you ask they will have the manufacturer recommended milage to replace spark plugs and belts . I now live a half hour to forty five minutes away but I will drive to have my car fixed here because they can be trusted. Toyota quoted me $75.00 just to put it on a lift and couldn't get me in until the next day. It was $20 here , got me in immediately and they found the issue (a strange one) within 10 minutes. Fixed it and the charge was so reasonable I actually offered to give them more money and they refused. No joke! Love these guys. They even mentioned an issue that I knew about but didn't diagnose and said don't do the work yet because I've got some time. This is a very reasonable priced mechanic that can be trusted. I was running errands in Oakbrook and my car's warning light came on saying my battery wasn't connecting to a charge and to go to my local service center. I was really worried about driving 30 minutes home so stopped at AutoZone to see if they could test the battery. They didn't know how to on my car, so I looked up reviews of local places and Elmhurst Auto Care had 5 stars and was only two doors down! What an amazing experience. They tested the battery and then popped open the hood and saw my belt had snapped. They ordered the part and replaced the belt within an hour! They were kind, courteous and reasonable and made me feel so much safer driving away. They also were honest, which can be hard to find nowadays. 5 stars all the way, I can't recommend them enough and the security they gave in driving home. What had started as a stressful situation was easily calmed by having them do the repair. Thank you! read more

I was driving on North Ave towards the city (home) from my aunt's house in Villa Park when my car suddenly started overheating. I pulled over into the nearest parking lot. I'm not familiar with the area, so it was dumb luck that Ed's shop was the one I called. He sent a tow that arrived within 15 minutes, and despite Covid-19, he even came to pick up my 2 kids and I in one of his loaner cars. He wore a mask, and was kind, professional, and courteous throughout our time at the shop while they checked to see what was wrong with my car. He took the time to explain what the issue was, how much it would cost, and gave us the loaner car to get home until my car was ready a couple days later. We came here to have a used car evaluated from a local dealer who asked that we stay within a certain radius for the inspection. We chose this shop based on the good reviews, to which I'd like to add mine. After a test drive and close look at the interior, Ed saw some red flags and advised us not to proceed with the purchase or the inspection, waving off any offer to pay him for whatever time he spent looking it over. If we end up looking in more dealerships in this area we will definitely return (and pay for!) his opinion on the vehicle. read more

Great Service! These guys really came through for me when I was in a tight spot. I was in the area on business and I had a brake caliper stick just as I was pulling into my hotel. I needed the car by the end of business and Ed said they could do this for me. They replaced the caliper, two rotors, 4 pads, towing (through Jeff's Towing) two back running lights I didn't know were out, and my rear wiper all for about 100 dollars less than I would have thought. My vehicle was leaking oil all over the place. I brought it into Elmhurst Auto Care and the tall gentleman in the front helped me tremendously. He listed to all of my concerns and quickly jacked the car up to show me the issues. Within 5 minutes, he and his team discovered the problem. Rear main seal. He explained that this procedure could not be completed at this auto shop. He referred me to a shop down the road and my car is now getting worked on! The quality of work is always excellent and he has even told me at times that certain things didn't need to be done at that particular time, thus saving me money, when he could have easily just replaced the parts and made the revenue.
