I'd try one of the other Cincinnati music shops like Mehas Music. Willis has always been one…read moredisappointment after another for me and my family. I've tried to do business with them and have never been successful. They declined a brass repair of mine at one of their instrument repair locations which is now closed, but was very unprofessional about it. Last week my 13 year old and I spent several days choosing a new trigger trombone for him stepping up from his entry level trombone. We ended up choosing one on the Willis Music website with his middle school band instructor's approval and placed the order with Willis online late one evening. This was one within our budget and checked all of our boxes plus it was new...we thought we were going to need to take our chances on a used model. Credit card was charged. I woke up the next morning to my son still super excited asking when it would arrive, and that he had already been awake two hours watching videos and reading about it. I was really excited for him. Later that morning I received an email that the order had been canceled and a refund would be issued with no alternatives offered. They said it had been discontinued, but the manufacturer still makes this model just with a new backpack style case which is the one they displayed in their listing. They ended offering to get us that same trombone we had purchased (because it wasn't discontinued), but it would be $600 more than I had paid on their website the night before. They also assured me this $600 additional was a great deal. Such a scam and a waste of time. They certainly don't attempt to make things right in any way...unreal let down for my son. I wouldn't trust them and especially their website/online ordering. This also had our budget tied up in the authorization on my card for a week. We ordered a used trigger trombone on eBay, and will be taking it to Mehas Music to have it checked out, cleaned and any repairs.

This has been our source for instrument repair for years. The repair shop is friendly, reasonably…read morepriced and quick when there are time constraints. They also run a fabulous program to rehab old instruments and make them available to students who cannot afford one on their own. We're lucky to have this gem supporting school band programs.

Affordable Movers

I normally don't leave reviews, but this experience with Affordable Movers needs to be documented…read more My parents were originally quoted $1,300 to move a full three-bedroom apartment into a two-bedroom. Before moving day, they actually reduced the scope significantly--giving away an entire bedroom set and a sectional--so the job was smaller than what was originally quoted. Despite that, the price remained the same. On top of that, we handled a major portion of the work ourselves. My parents have a large amount of clothing, and we moved all of it before the movers even arrived to make things easier and more efficient. So again, they were doing less work than expected for the same price. The real issue, though, is the condition of what they did move. We took extra time to carefully pack fragile items like dishes to prevent damage. Despite that, a significant number of items still came back broken--not just one or two pieces, but enough to clearly show a lack of care. Even worse, there are items that are now completely missing, including a step ladder and framed pictures. The most upsetting part is the damage to my mother's doll cabinet and collection. She has spent 35-40 years collecting these dolls, and the cabinet that housed them was returned damaged and missing parts to the point where it cannot even be properly reassembled. This isn't just furniture--it's something with real sentimental value, and it was handled carelessly. They also promised to reassemble certain items, including shelving, but failed to do so. Based on the missing parts, it seems likely they couldn't complete it and chose not to address it. To make matters worse, multiple attempts to contact the company afterward have gone unanswered. No follow-up, no accountability, no effort to resolve the situation. This was a smaller, easier move than originally quoted, yet it resulted in broken items, missing belongings, incomplete work, and zero communication afterward. Those google reviews are suspicious to say the least.

Please note the 1 star is forced to do the review!!! They should be shut down!…read more have waited for several months for them to rectify their wrongs... literally since February 2025. The two gentlemen that arrived to move me were indeed kind. However someone was High, reeked of marijuana... which is probably why they couldn't effectively pack the truck for my move. I used stackable totes... which should have been stacked(They were not). My bed frame which should have been broken down was only loosened on one side and transported in a triangular fashion... one of my lamps completely bent, and the knob on my dresser was broken off..( They attempted to try and tell me it was like that) Not at all! Like WTF! I called several times to find out if there would be my compensation for these issues... only to be given the run around by the manager/ owner Frank. I was told his assistant was going to find the knob for my dresser and order it and send it to me... then I was told it was ordered and still have not received it.. THIS COMPANY IS A BIG JOKE! The final straw for me was the fact that with two movers, a 17foot truck... I still had to move things on my own. Which took me an additional day. They said that they couldn't get everything from my 2nd room apartment in the truck.... I guess not when you don't know how to stack and pack or logistically put things in the box truck because you are HIGH!!! They are unprofessional, do not follow through, and obviously are not licensed or insured as they describe! If you are looking for help moving DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! Please note the 1 star is forced!!! They should be shut down!
