However, since Jeff started running things a while back, I can't sing their praises enough. He is always there for me any time I call or go by. Originally, I was excited about Mega Watts because of their low prices compared to repair work done by the Apple Store. Unfortunately, their repairs caused further complications with my computer - they replaced the disk drive, and I couldn't get it to function. I came in a few days after my 30 days warranty (which I was unaware of - I guess I signed a paper about that, but no one verbalized this to me ever), and they refused to fix it without charging me for a new repair. Inconvenient hours, friendly staff, but I will never do business with them again. Extremely frustrating experience - I recommend looking elsewhere unless it's a very SMALL repair job. read more

I took my MacBook and asked for them to repair the screen and diagnose a wifi problem. They called for me to pick it up and when I got there they had only addressed the screen issue and had not looked into my wifi issues. So I had to leave it again. When they called a few days later they told me my wifi fix would cost $600 and that was more than my computer was even worth. They tried to sell me a used MacBook to replace mine. I decided to refuse all repairs and just pay for the labor and cut my losses. When I got home with my computer, my wifi was no longer just occasionally cutting out. It didn't work AT ALL. So basically they I paid $75 for them to break my computer more. I took the computer to someone else for a second opinion and was told that the two issues could BOTH be fixed for under $200. (Original quote from MegaWatts was $825.) Basically, I feel that I was taken advantage of. It seems as though they could tell I didn't know anything about computers and repair and decided to try to take me for $800. I could never recommend this place to anyone. I hope that they just honestly don't know what they're doing. At least that would be better than being sneaky and taking advantage of their customers. How very unfortunate for me. read more

Good prices on limited Mac-related merchandise. Worst, horrible customer service and repair services. They held my notebook hostage until I paid them $95 for diagnostics that were incorrect. They did not return phone calls when they say they would, and the owner was unsympathetic when I pleaded with him to lower the fee after I had received a very bad customer service. My notebook's battery would not get charged. I brought it to them and stated that I did not think the problem was with the battery. Almost a week later, the verdict was that I had to change the logic board in the computer, which would cost me around $800, they said. I paid the diagnostic fee, got back my notebook, and later, when I tried charging a different battery, it charged fine. Very sloppy and inept work on their part, which cost me almost $100. Feel free to buy there, but be warned regarding their repairs and customer service. By the way, at the time of this writing, there are at least 18 complaints that have been filed against them with the Better Business Bureau. read more

(Long story short: if you are female, go into the store by yourself if you want the staff to acknowledge your existence. If your a female with technical knowledge and don't want your intelligence insulted, don't come in here at all). My boyfriend tagged along inside and the guy took like 10 minutes to actually talk to us, because he was finishing up what sounded like a social call with some employee that was off the clock. When he finally did talk to me, he did listen to what was going on with my laptop and did a quick visual inspection and gave me some suggestions on what I could do to fix it on my own. (Literally the only reason why this place is getting two stars). This is where the offensive part comes in... He directed 90% of his directions on how to fix it at home at my boyfriend, not me, and used language that made it seem like my boyfriend was going to be the one to fix the computer and not me. Overall, if you're female, i do not recommend coming to this place. Especially if your female with some kind of tech knowledge. read more

HORRIBLE company to deal with! Megawatts engages in "bait and switch" tactics. I placed an order for 4 software units from the company. I changed my mind and I canceled my order. Megawatts confirmed my order cancellation. However, the company still shipped me the merchandise. The company's ad gave the impression that the software was the retail boxed version. Megawatts shipped me O.E.M. software. I complained to Megawatts that I received a canceled order. I also complained that I had received O.E.M. software. Megawatts refused to issue me a R.M.A. number so that I could return the items. I paid the return shipping costs, and I returned the items back to the company. Megawatts REFUSED the returned items. The company shipped the O.E.M. software back to me! Through a charge back, my bank refunded my money and STOPPED Megawatts' scam. STAY AWAY FROM MEGAWATTS! If you shop with this company, be prepared to be CHEATED. MEGAWATTS will leave you feeling ripped off and completely disappointed. read more

You might find a decent deal and they do ship quickly which is why they deserve one star. Once you have the product they will not support you and will argue with you to no end. I needed to return a product within a few days of receiving it, the product was not as advertised. MegaWatts would not take credit for the error and posted blame on the manufacturer. I relayed what the manufacturer told me and they (after doing 'research') basically called me a liar! The deal was decent but could have been found somewhere else... and everyone ships fast these days. Take your business somewhere else.... you will be thankful you did. read more

I took my computer to the over a year ago. My hard drive had crashed and they were saving my data that i did not want to lose. I was so worried that i did not push them due to the fact they had 2 years of my family on file. I felt it was on their back burner and i was being held hostage. I called every 2 to 3 weeks to check on progress. Most of the time they did not answer the phone or return my phone calls. After 2 technicians quitting and being fired I took my broken computer and saved data back. They are really disorganize and you can see that when you enter their store. Never got much help when going in their location either. Customer service is lacking. They must get most of their business from commercial clients, and not off the street customers. Better off spending your money somewhere else in my opinion. read more

I am HIGHLY dissatisfied with my service from MegaWatts computers. We bought a computer from them and we were able to use it for one week before it malfunctioned. We sent it back for repairs and they had it for over 4 months. Then I was sent back an entirely different computer (with no explanation, no back up of my information or reimbursement for software I had already purchased, nor were the accessories on the computer returned to me with my "new" computer) that computer malfunctioned within 2 minutes of opening up the computer. We sent it back again. Only to one month later be sent back the SAME computer with EXACTLY the same issue it had been having before! Mind you, we had been told that while they had if for a month NONE of their "technicians" could make the computer act up... right... We decided it would be best to cut our ties and return the computer in return for a full refund, which manager Alex promised my husband would come within 2 weeks. That was 4 weeks ago and we still have seen hide nor hair of that refund. So we decided to call again today. They told us that we had not received our refund because they no longer had a card on file for us (don't you think that would warrant a phone call????). They then proceeded to tell us that we would only be receive 50% of the original value that we paid for the 3 absolutely atrocious computers that we had been sent. So not only did Alex LIE to us about the full refund, they tried to cheat us out of a refund by saying they didn't have a card on file. A refund that we should have received almost a month ago. We are patient people and have been giving them the benefit of the doubt for over a year! Be wary of your purchases at MegaWatts! They are not honest and they do not sell a quality product. Needless to say we will be telling our friends and you won't be getting any business from us. If I could give no stars I would. Terrible service. Terrible product. read more

This company is a complete rip-off. I purchased a refurb ipad 2 64G from them. Shipping was fast that's the only + I will give them. Received my iPad only to find the rear facing camera wasn't working. Filled out an RMA and sent it back to them at my cost. After having it for over a month and after at least 10 calls to them which every time they had a different excuse they are not fixing it they are refunding me my money short of the 15$ it cost to ship it to them. Very poor customer. They do not have 500+ macbooks. They have maybe 15 stacked on top of each other and in very poor condition (severely dented and not clean). They seemed inconvenienced both times I went in and were slightly rude. They were not knowledgeable on the laptops they had. There were no places to sit down and actually look at the laptops. Also will not negotiate on prices even though they are local. Went to Best Buy and talked them down $100 on a clean- used 13" macbook pro which i am typing this on right now. On 3-2-2012 I took my ipod touch for repair, it needed a new battery and headphone jack replaced. The man stated that it would be done next week and that they would call me. I did not here back from them and waited for over a month, and went back in and the man stated that the parts were on order and it would be next week. I did not hear back from them. I then called them and the man stated that the circuit board was toasted and that it could not be repaired. He stated that he had left a voice message on my phone. I told him I never received such a message. It was then about 3 weeks, I went back in to pick up the ipod and the man said that it was unclaimed and recycled the item because it had been over 30 days. When I objected all he did was state that I was informed (Which I was not) and that I signed an agreement that if the merchandise was not picked up within 30days it would consider abandoned and would be recycled. When I objected and said I did not get the voice mail, he stated that it was not his fault and he had no control over weather or not I go the voice mail or not. I told him it had not been 30 days since he last talked to me over the phone that it could not be fixed, he said it have been 3 weeks. He then stated saying how long it had taken me to follow up on the item, making it appear that I did not want the item at that it was not repairable anyway. Megawatts attitude was they were right, so just deal with it. The point is that I could of recycled the ipod myself and gotten some money out of it, it stead Megawatts got the money and did not seem to care about their customer service. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE! Computer sat at the Megawatts office for ten days without me being notified it was ready for pick up. I even called a week after I dropped it off and was told it was not ready, only to find out that the computer was "fixed" three days after I dropped it off. Brought computer home and experienced same problem immediately. Found out that the computer had not even been worked on in the two weeks it was at the Megawatts office. Agreed to leave the computer an additional two days so that the crew could actually do to the computer what they said they had already done. Staff promised to call me when the computer was "fixed". Never received a call or email notifying me of the status. Went to shop only to find out the problem had not been fixed. Three and one half business weeks it took for no work to be done. No phone call, no emails and no apologies from staff. They claimed to have left a voice mail but when challenged, could not find proof that they had ever called me- hints why I didn't have a voicemail from them. read more

My daughter saved up her money for a long time because she wanted a MacBook. We bought one at this store for $500 and it came with a 3 month warranty. Within the first few weeks, the wireless card died. The warranty covered it and they replaced it which was good. Two months after that, the screen cracked. Even I thought at first my daughter somehow did it, but she swore up and down she didn't. So I went on line and searched for MacBook screen crack, it seems this is a common problem with the Airbook. Cracks for no reason. It sound dumb but Google it yourself. And Apple doesn't cover this and neither will this store, even if its in the warranty period. Now my daughter is locked in her room crying because the computer she saved up so hard for for so long was a piece of crap. I know this is more of a bad Apple review than this store specifically, but this is where we bought it and they wouldn't replace it so I thought it a good idea to warn people that do this same thing I did. Give $500 away for a piece of junk to a company that won't stand behind their awful products. read more
