There were games for NES, Atari systems, various versions of Gameboys, PS1, PS2, GameCube, modern consoles, DS, and more. I was looking for games for my Commodore VIC-20 and didn't see any, but it's a pretty obscure system so it's a big ask. The prices were sometimes expensive but not nearly as much as eBay, and they had a selection unlike any game store I've been to. I feel like the items sold were worth the price. While I didn't end up buying anything, I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

Our first couple tries, they were closed because of winter break according to a written sign on the door, and a second time I think they just closed early that day. (this was maybe 2019 or 2020). Anyways, I eventually made it back out that way (it's about an hour drive for me) with a buddy, and it was worth the trip. The guy working the desk was helpful and friendly. They had a great selection of throwbacks. I recommend shopping here especially if you live out that way near the kennesaw area. Businesses like this are rare, and we are lucky to have it. I shop in this center a lot (mostly Publix & Jersey Mike's) and it wasn't until I was walking into Jersey Mike's that I noticed the "Comics" sign. Yay! I love comic shops. They have a lot of comics. Games, toys, figures, some LEGO sets. Nice, clean organized shop. Friendly, welcoming people. They are in a shopping center with Publix - there is plenty of parking.

Since I wanted cash and no store credit I earned $1.97 instead of $3.54. What I learned from this is, that bartering might work for some people, if they are trading in things. This is not for me. We were in the area for a good while and my family member received a text that their items were ready. I believed that mine would soon be done to follow. A few more hours passed and I still didn't get a text so I called in to check. I was extremely disappointed when I was told that my buy hadn't been started. They stated it was because they were busy. Although, when I questioned if they were busy how were they able to finish my family members buy so quickly. They didn't have a response for me other than they had other buys from the day before that they had to finish. I still don't understand how my family members stuff still got finished if that was the reason. When I asked how much longer it would take they couldn't give me an answer. I do not live close so this was extremely upsetting for me because if they had a lot left over from the day before it should've been stated when I dropped it off. About two hours before closing I got my text so I had to drive and pick up my stuff. Once I arrived I was told I was getting a very small amount for items that were in brand new condition or to get 50% more value if I chose store credit. I really wish they updated their system and valued the items at a higher price point and not such a drastic change from cash to store credit. I only came here and settled for the cash because I am clearing up space for a move. If you want what your items are valued don't ever come here.

My first recollection of visiting was in March 2017, right around the time the Nintendo Switch launched. I came looking for a Switch, but they were sold out. This was when Switch consoles were hard to find. I later returned to get God of War for the PlayStation 4. It was originally released in April 2018 at an MSRP of $59.99. I got the game about a year after it came out and the price had dropped to $39.99. I went to the store during my lunch break around 12:15pm on a Thursday. During my brief visit, I was the only customer in the store and there was only one employee working as far as I could tell. I found God of War quickly and easily and I was rung up fast. I paid with a GameStop gift card. The receipt that printed out let me know the remaining balance on my gift card which was helpful. I usually buy my games online. One advantage to buying a physical copy game in-store is the physical copy is in perfect condition. There have been multiple instances where I have ordered a physical copy of a game online and the game case arrived damaged, probably because of shipping. The employee, Leah, greeted me as I entered. She checked my ID to make sure I was old enough to buy God of War since it was rated M for Mature (17+). I'm already more than double the minimum age for M-rated games. Haha. They had a special going on: Buy 4 used games for only $20. Some of the used games were dirt cheap. For example, Borderlands 2 (2012, PS3) was only $2.99. How the heck do they make money off of games that cheap? Those games must be a loss leader. And how much would they buy that game for? 50 cents? When I got back to work, a coworker told me that there was a murder at this GameStop years ago. Surprised, I Googled it and found the following article: https://www.mdjonline.com/news/man-pleads-guilty-in-gamestop-slaying/article_ebf73f21-1de7-5682-81ee-daaf4ec14529.html. Long story short, a 21-year-old manager was tragically killed in a 2007 robbery at this store. The perpetrator pled guilty to murder in 2013. I will say this GameStop isn't in the safest-feeling shopping center. It's in the Marietta Trade Center with Walmart and Chick-fil-A, near the Big Chicken. Over the years, I've been approached at least three times by panhandlers and sketchy folks in various spots in the shopping center. To be honest, as I walked out of GameStop and back to my car with shrink-wrapped God of War in hand, the thought did cross my mind that I might get mugged in the parking lot (and that was before I knew about the 2007 murder).
