TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED FOR THE FOURTH TIME SINCE THE FIRE! I used to eat here multiple times a week and loved the food. I have now eaten here only four times since the fire. The first time I ordered a combination plate and there was hardly any meat in the container from the food truck which now is serving in the parking lot. I figured anyone can have an off day,so I gave them another chance. The second time I experienced the same exact issue so I decided to no longer eat there. I was saddened that my favorite restaurant in paradise was no longer anything like it had been before the fire. After some time had passed,the memory of my latest disappointment had faded some and I was craving the old Meehos and decided I would try again. Again, hardly any meat on the plate and the flavor was nothing like before (not good). As more time passed I decided it had been so long that surely they had improved or they wouldn't be in business,especially with coved 19 impacting the food business so severely. Today I gave Meehos one last try. Again, very little meat on my pastor combo plate (not enough to satisfy anyone's appetite) and to make it worse, I ordered two more pastor burritos as well, for others in my family. The pastor was so salty it was not edible in my opinion. In fact my family wouldn't eat theirs either. Almost $30 down the drain AGAIN and the issue of needing something to eat still exist. I am not one to write reviews online but I feel compelled to write this one. I tried to call the owner or manager to explain what my experiences have been like because I would like to see them do well. We need good food on the ridge and they obviously were capable of serving good food because they had done it in the past. When I tried to call the number listed on all the sites on line (530)877-7031 it was disconnected. I am saddened that the Meehos that I loved so much has decided that their quality and quantity of their food is no longer important. Ok, so they are cooking on the grill outside everyday and you're thinking this has to be so fresh and flavorful. Think again. The food is so bland. Come on, you can't put a rub on any of that chicken? The chips are stacked deep behind the counter and they are so stale. Hard pass the chips. Been here 3 times just because it's on our side of town. I've seen Meeho's transform over the years, and their food has always remained tasty and reasonably priced. We have tried several things on the Menu, and I'm not afraid to try new things there! I could visit twice order the same meal and write two different reviews. The food is alright. I do like the Flautas but most of their food is bland cheaply made. I've ordered the chicken burrito a few times and I have no clue if they put any chicken in it. The service is good. The people who work there are nice. The location is cool and clean. I have been here a couple of times with my boyfriend and we both had the 1 lb vegetarian burrito both times and it was very good. They have a good salsa bar with chips also. I enjoyed eating here very much. There is a nice patio that would be nice to sit on in the warmer months as well. Good food for a reasonable price and the people were friendly. read more

I don't usually go to meehos because I find the food to be Bland and tasteless with the added benefit of being way over priced period but this morning I broke down since you can't get any decent food in Paradise before 11 a.m. And stopped at meehos. I got an all meat burrito aside of Pico De Gayo and a 3 item combination small guac chips and salsa this cost me $24 almost $25 took them 15 minutes at least to make it and when I got home I found they forgot my chips and guacamole I called them had to drive back while my food was getting cold to retrieve my chips and guacamole. When I return home I discovered my all meat burrito that cost almost 10 freaking dollars had rice and beans in it. So I called them again and they said come on up and we'll give you the right one. So now after three trips to meehos to get one order correct I can finally eat my cold food. By the way they're pico de gallo is mostly celery. A friend recommended Meehos, and we were delighted by our meal there. It's the best Mexican food I've tasted, really fresh and well seasoned. The prices were also amazingly low for the amount and quality of food. Our group had the vegetarian burrito plate with rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream, a tostada without cheese or meat and one with cheese and the marinated chicken, which was delicious, and the flan, which was noticeably larger than the flan other local restaurants serve. We especially liked the salsa bar, where we were able to try a variety of salsas: mild, hot, pico, orange hot, and salsa verde. The mild salsa was the freshest and best I've had, without the usual trace of bitterness, and we also liked the pico so much we got large containers of both to take home. Unlike most Mexican restaurants in the area, Meehos is located in a very convenient area and boasts a drive-thru. And, unlike all the Mexican restaurants in the area, grills their meat a foot away from a MAJOR road in Paradise. Since the speed limit is 30 mph, you have no choice but to inhale the succulent sweetness of that which is meat as you cruise by. Maybe that's what drew my husband and I in one particular day. We chose to go through the drive-thru just cause we could and not because we were suffering from a bout of laziness. The burritos we ordered were large, as advertised, but lacked the love that I was used to from our local taco truck. Kinda boring, and plain. Full of beans rice and not much else. But the flour tortilla was well wrapped and didn't fall apart as we ate it. We both finished the 2 pound burrito and it kept us full the rest of the day. On a final note, the service was friendly and our food did come out hot and quickly. I would give Meehos another chance but branch out and try other menu items. read more

We were in California recently for my grandson's birthday and when we arrived after a four hour trip, my husband was SO hungry! My daughter/husband suggested Meehos. Meehos used to be THE BEST place in Paradise. I remember going as a kid and getting bean and cheese burritos and their delicious nacho cheese sauce. YUM! I also worked there for about a year as a teenager so I got to eat there frequently. So good I rarely got sick of it despite eating there constantly. They changed ownership about 7 years ago and then again a few years later. It's just gone down hill from there. They did improve a few things though such as their outside patio area and longer business hours. The drive-thru is very convenient. But the food is just not nearly up to par as it used to be with the orignal ownership. They cheapened some of their products. One thing they changed is their Nacho cheese sauce to a not-as-good, cheaper version. The stuff they used to serve you can get at places like Costco or Cash n' Carry but only in big huge tubs. It's called "Que Bueno" and it's amazing! I believe the La Comida in Chico serves it as well (if it's not que bueno, it tastes exactly like it). Anyway, Meehos' burritos are not as good as they used to be. Their chicken enchiladas are similar but still not 100%. I still very much like their spicy chicken and that is what I would recommend that you get if you visit there. It is great, but quite spicy so you have to like spicy stuff. Their prices are a little bit high for what you get. Their burritos aren't really small or really large. Pretty average size. You get the choice of your enchiladas, etc, ala carte or with a side of beans & rice. They're not horrible at all, just "average", and disappointing if you're comparing it how it used to be about 10 years ago. I still eat there sometimes; but it's true, there is not a ton of selection in Paradise. We went here on the recommendation of a co-worker. We're new to Paradise and are working our way through the restaurants here. While I did like the chips and salsa, my steak burrito was very bland, tasteless and the wrapper was cold. No flavor at all. They seem to be a bit overpriced, too. The three others with me didn't have much to say about it either, except that they won't come back. To be fair, the flan was decent. Save your money and go to the taco truck outside King's Tavern. Meehos like to copy the style of KFC about 20 years ago when they cut 3 chicken breasts out of one chicken. Not only do you NOT get a full breast when ordering a 3 or 4 piece meal, you are getting ripped all the way. I thought they were selling Game Hens!!! The pieces were sooooooooooo small. My wife and I bought 4 piece chicken meals with the sides and WOW, we ended up going to Mountain Mikes for pizza. We were still hungry!! If you go to KFC and get the $20.00 fill-up you'll get double the chicken and quadrouple the sides. I'll NEVER go to Meehos again. If El Polo Loco comes to town Meehos is done. If you appreciate food and getting what you pay for (that is the American way!!) please get your meal at Safeway or KFC; you'll have a snack for later. The breakfast burritos are amazing! Got the 2 lb breakfast burrito plate with Chile verde, sour cream and extra cheese. OMG soooo good. I ate 3 meals off that burrito because it is so large. Some of the side potatoes were raw on the inside and a little browned on the outside. The burrito on the other hand was perfect. I definitely would order again without the side potatoes. read more

Tasteless Albondigas soup and even flatter meatballs, lukewarm posole on a very cold evening when I needed something warming, no wine available and those doggone tortilla sides tasted like a dusting of powdered flour. They really needed to be roasted a bit. My burrito to go lasked a certain something....like the promised chili verde and was essestially a veggie bean and cheese burro. When it come down to it, you REALLY jus cant beat their 6 dollar 2LB burrito, its jus like their biggest burrito, i mean, they give a goddam SHIRT if you prove to them you can eat it all by yourself in one sitting, no cigarette breaks!! i get one if i go there everytime, if im not already sold on my friends order, or a tasty impulse treat. I have no idea how people are giving this place good reviews. Worst Mexican food I've ever had anywhere. Free chips? Sure - but most were stale, which in turn means the nachos were garbage. I got a sampler platter, and they couldn't even get a quesadilla right! American (or similar bland processed cheese substance) between two lukewarm soggy tortillas: really? I could have made something twice as good in my microwave in under a minute. Burrito "bowl" came in a soggy tortilla (do they know what the idea behind a burrito bowl is even?) - all in all, horrible experience. Stopped in for breakfast this morning. Bad choice. The eggs were good and cooked perfectly. But the "refried" beans were merely whole beans in bean juice. Not fried and smashed. The "refried" beans was more like bean soup. I asked about the beans and the young lady at the cash register brought out what she said was whole beans to compare with the "refried" beans on my plate. So, apparently the difference to Meehos, is that refried beans are just whole unfried and unsmashed beans with bean juice and whole beans are dry without bean juice. Also on the plate was a huge plop of crumbled dry meat. I asked what it was and was told it is chorizo. I didn't order any meat and didn't eat it. It was dry and nasty looking. The only thing cooked to order was the eggs. The meat was obviously cooked at a much earlier time or days before...this place is hit or miss. I have had a couple of ok dishes here, but this is not an authentic Mexican restaurant at all. read more
