First time here and have to say the place is well maintained. The service was great, I was greeted as I walked in and my order was taken right away. I opted for the Philly cheesesteak and side of onion rings. The meat was very salty to my liking, but the onion rings made up for it. I had to run a few errands after walking my dogs this morning so when lunch time came, I was hungry and decided to go to Meechy's. I love their new location! It's a much bigger space than when they were in the mall. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I let them know I was dining in and Chris told me to sit wherever I wanted and he brought me a menu. When the waitress stopped by for my drink order, I mentioned that I heard that the refreshers were really good and she said their special for the day was the Pomegranate Lime. Of course I had to order it. It was so crisp and refreshing. I'm a carbonation girlie so this was very nice! I loved the pieces of pomegranate seeds in it. I'm looking forward to trying the other flavors. The menu is amazing! There was so much to choose from. It was hard to make a decision. I decided to order bruschetta for an appetizer and a rice bowl with garlic chicken. The bruschetta was so good! I love that they make the rosemary focaccia bread themselves. The rosemary complements all the flavors of the fresh tomatoes, basil, red onion, and balsamic glaze. The braised red cabbage was a nice addition. I love that they use feta! It doesn't overpower the dish at all. It's a beautiful balance of flavor. I also appreciated that you could use a fork to cut into it. Usually it's a finger food and the bread is so crunchy that the roof of your mouth gets cut up and all the toppings fall off. The focaccia is a wonderful texture for bruschetta. The rice bowl was absolutely delicious! The rice was cooked perfectly. If you like garlic, get the garlic chicken! My goodness was it fantastic!! The chicken was tender and flavorful. The tomatoes were fresh, the avocado added a nice creaminess to the dish along with the poached egg. The green onions livened it up and the spicy mayo added a nice kick. Another well balanced dish. I was too full for dessert but brought home a cookies & cream cheesecake for me and an orange creamsicle for my Mom. I've had their cheesecakes before and I haven't found a place that makes better cheesecakes. They're rich and creamy, dense. Absolutely flawless! Looking forward to enjoying it this evening. 4/18/2024- Over a year later and this is STILL the only place I get pasta from in the AV. I ordered the Chicken Pesto and added bacon and broccoli to it. The flavor is consistently flavorful an still has a homemade feeling to it. The Oreo cheesecake was light and fluffy to the very last bite. So now I understand why this place has 5 star reviews. They got these famous Cheesecakes that are FRESH and scrumptious. I took a small nibble and instantly was overwhelmed with delight. It's like the grinch when he starts to smile . One just can't help but to smile when eating Meechys Cheesecakes. The cheesecake milky and smooth but what stood out the most was the at home taste the cheesecakes had. I also got a pasta which I found to be better than most pasta places. Apparently my review on 11/29/2022 didn't post! Let's make this right, because on the eve of my birthday, after I left work I decided I didn't want to go home and make dinner for myself. Hubby was out of town for work and I had celebrated with family over the weekend. But I digress. I hadn't made it to the new Meechy's location and decided I was past due for a visit. As always, Chris and his staff were friendly and welcoming.. I do t even know how he remembered my name but he did! After offering congratulations on the birth of their baby boy, we got down to the business of ordering my dinner to go. I decided to take out since I was tired, but next time plan to sit and dine at their tables. What a treat, they didn't have a private dining area at the mall food court! Pardon the pic, staging it at home doesn't do their wares any justice. The pasta is their Cajun Shrimp Penne which is always phenomenal.. the sauce is to die for! The beverage is their Blueberry Lemon Refresher. They blend them to order and left out the simple syrup for me since I prefer to not have all of that sugar (watching blood sugar). There's still a little from a splash of Sprite, but this is plenty sweet as is! So tasty, I'll definitely be trying the other flavors soon. If you avoid such beverages because you're watching sugar, they are super accommodating. Just ask! For dessert, I got a slice of their Honey Roasted Pistachio cheesecake. It comes with honey to drizzle over the top which I took on the side. I used it, because the flavor enhancement was magical! I've long been a bit of a cheesecake snob. I have a friend who makes homemade NY style cheesecakes from her family's recipe, so just any cream cheese based dessert won't do. Meechy's cheesecakes can hold their own against anything from Cheesecake Factory.. in fact, they're better! I won't bother with the chain anymore, especially with these guys being local. There are other pasta dishes, sandwiches and salads on the menu to satisfy your hunger, but always save room for dessert. Or pick up a 6-pack of slices to take home with you to share with loved ones for later! You won't regret it. We are SO lucky to have such a great place here in the AV. *They're a little hidden from the street, behind an El Pollo Loco. They have parking right in front, though! I also ordered 3 cheesecake slices to go, strawberry shortcake, honey pistachio and lemon blueberry all were amazing! Oh and the lemon blueberry refresher (nonsparkling) WOW I could drink a gallon of that stuff! I live far but go to the area for work alot, I'll definitely stop by again. Cheese taste were very tasty but small slices. I got the blueberry lemon and the apple pie varieties. I had my order delivered and paid extra to get extra cheese and extra mushrooms and a side of ranch with my Philly cheesesteak and they were nowhere to be found. Barely any cheese, not many mushrooms no ranch and no ketchup. The Philly cheesesteak was just OK overall everything was just over salted. It was hard to eat without water next to you. Then I was excited to try the Bees knees salad with a honey vinaigrette. Salad was a good size could've used more feta cheese. The big let down was the dressing. Where is the honey? Where is the sweetness? It was more like just oil no salt no sweetness nothing. I might go back to have a cheesecake but I doubt if I go back there to eat. This was on my list of places to try while visiting for work. I'm really glad I tried it. I'm not sure what I expected but this place far exceeded my expectations. The woman who helped me Kathryn, was incredibly pleasant and helpful when I was deciding what cheesecake I wanted for dessert. I had the Jalapeño business cheesesteak with garlic fries, the lemon blueberry refresher and the caramel apple cheesecake which I ate later. It was all incredibly delicious. The cheesecake was much lighter than other cheesecakes I had which for me was a plus. I loved my visit so much I returned the next week to try their spicy shrimp wrap and a blueberry-lemon cheesecake. Tonight was my first time visiting this establishment. My wife and I ordered pick-up, but from what I could see of the inside from our parking spot, the location looked cool! Our curbside order was delivered within 30 seconds. I ordered the classic Philly Cheesesteak, with Cajun fries...both YUM! It's easy to mess up a cheesesteak, but Meechy's got it right. Nicely cooked steak and veggies, tasty melted cheese, and a crisped bun that didn't overwhelm the sandwich. My sister had raved about Meechy's Cheesecakes when they were at the AV Mall, so I decided to finally give it a try. They recently moved out of the AV Mall and are now located near the Palmdale Airport location. When we arrived, the new location had plentiful parking and interesting set-up. Usually you can't see the kitchen but this place is open that you could see the kitchen. Actually I was surprised how empty the kitchen area looks and that they choose an interesting layout for their shop. Anyhow, we came on a weekend and it wasn't too busy. We check out the cheesecakes on display and it looks like most were almost bought out-- so they must be popping. We got the following flavors: 1. Strawberry Shortcake 2. Cafe Mocha 3. White Chocolate Raspberry Marble 4. Lemon Blueberry The White Chocolate Raspberry and Strawberry Shortcake were my favorite. They weren't too sweet compare to the Lemon Blueberry (which was my sister's favorite). The texture and size of the cheesecakes weren't too bad. In addition, if you dine in-- they will prepare it on a plate for you. **If you purchase single slices, they range from $5 -$6 each. That is why I HIGHLY recommend purchasing more slices for a better deal. The more slices you purchases, the cheaper it will be. Worth spending extra money on delivery from DoorDash lol I order when I'm at work and it's still out of the "range". I came here for lunch twice this week and really loved it. In general with a few exceptions, Palmdale is a food desert, especially when it comes to healthy foods. I had the rice bowl with shrimp a few days ago and it was great! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and there was lots of avocado in it. It also had red cabbage and an egg plus the rice. My only slight suggestion would be that they put more veggies and a bit less rice. If they added wilted spinach and some bean sprouts that would be great but I did love it. They have a great selection of beverages including refreshers like raspberry mint and lemon blueberry as well as craft beer and cream sodas. I had the raspberry mint and really liked it. Today I had the Caprese chicken penne pasta and it was perfectly cooked. The prices were really reasonable. I'm not a cheesecake connoisseur so I cannot comment on that but most seem to love it. I plan to try an appetizer next. I don't drink because just a little alcohol knocks me out but I will maybe order a craft beer next time and take a sip. It is close to 22nd street east in East Palmdale. I highly recommend this place if you want to avoid the mediocre food most Palmdale restaurants serve. Honestly a large McDonald's meal is about the same price. So eat tasty and healthy instead. read more
