I'm unsure how this place is still open Thursday (1-29-26) my 2 year old Goldendoodle was found eating my late Goldendoodles asprin bottle and the contents at 12:30 PM. I called his vet and they told me to rush him to the closest Emergency vet. Medvet Dayton. Let's go time is CRITICAL right? It was for my dog and family just not to Medvet Dayton. my mother, my dog Mitch and I waited over 2 hours while the staff watched my dog suffering puking 8 times in the waiting area. Me and my mom kept waiting and waiting PRAYING FOR MITCH TO BE CALLED BACK. I had filled out a poison control sheet, spoke to a toxicologist at 2:50 Pm. Why wasn't this done at arrival? Mitch needs to see someone it's 3:00 PM and we arrived at 1:20PM! I had to cry and beg just for a private room so he wasn't so anxious while continuing to throw up. We got one! Finally he's going to be seen! Nope. 2 different assistants popped in asked unrelated questions. One gave false information and to the Dr. around 4:01 PM Megan comes in to tell us that Mitch had a large amount of toxins and would most likely not make it but the toxicologists options were 1) hospitalization 2) outpatient ..we were devastated after hearing the news she had and strapped financially I told her to give us a minute to figured this out. Before she left the room she recommended euthanizing Mitch to save on funds. Leaving us heartbroken being told there's zero hope is heartbreaking! After all this waiting you just want to kill my dog? A few minutes turned into an hour. we came up with the money 10 minutes later after I asked for a few minutes.. we waited for someone. Anyone to come back!! I had to go to the front desk hysterical asking for help AGAIN! The assistant comes in we tell her we decided on outpatient we have the funds. Will be paying by credit card over the phone. We were going to leave soon this what my mother described as a bad nightmare was almost over! It wasn't... the assistant never told the doctor our decision wasting more precious time for my Mitch. My dad was going to pay with CC over the phone. He kept calling asking why it's taking so long and told me to go up front and ask if we can just pay. Of course they had the invoice. They want money. At 6:21 PM my father gave his CC info to Audrey over the phone. I knew we were in a bad situation after about an hour of being there so I started to document and time stamp EVERYTHING! Absolutely everything. Every conversation, every time he puked. I mean EVERYTHING! While she had my phone getting the CC info a girl walks out to the waiting room with Mitch? But we weren't in the waiting room.. it just so happen was up front trying to leave. I quickly grabbed him. I was frantically texting close friends asking for prayers thinking my dog would die last night. and one friend it took him a few hours to respond but his response made my heart drop to the floor "go anywhere but Medvet Dayton" describing his 2 horrific situations. It was too late. We were already there. They already had Mitch. We were stuck in what felt like living hell. There was zero compassion let alone did anyone great my happy social boy or acknowledge his existence. We got the charcoal and medication. Why didn't they give them charcoal? Isn't that VITAL? I didn't trust anyone there anyways but it just showed me how much they did not care. At home Mitch finally got 162 ML of charcoal down by me and my mother at 9:06 PM. 8.5 hours after toxicity. Mitch may not make it. I know that. It's not their fault he got into asprin. However it is their fault with their lack of urgency, misinformation, compassion or even a ounce of hope for my Mitch! Because of this his chance at survival is even lower. Please never ever take your pets here. This was one of the most horrific experiences of my life. MedVet at the very least owes us a huge apology and a refund. That won't ever happen. I'll make sure everyone I know will know about this horrific place and how we were treated. I'll advocate for Mitch even if he passes and all the other animals until I die. This is cruelty to say the very least.. they failed Mitch. They will keep failing other babies too. read more

The staff members, all of them from the front desk check in, techs and assistants, and the doctor, just radiated compassion, kindness and professionalism. Every person and animal coming through the doors is hurting, suffering in some way. There is much sorrow to be felt here, but also hope, and comfort in knowing your pet is getting the best of care. The waiting room is large and spacious and comfortable. There's a special cats-only area. There are books available, and a charging station, wi fi and free coffee and tea. I did not feel in any way pressured to choose the more costly form of treatment or given 'false hope.' All options were discussed and all my questions answered. I never felt rushed or pressured. If the pet is hospitalized they will keep you updated by phone and you can also call for updates. If you have to arrange for CareCredit they can help you with that. As far as cost, I think it's fair: when you consider that your four-legged loved one is getting round the clock monitoring, treatment and whatever intervention is needed. I don't know how things will turn out for my ailing cat but I am at peace in knowing he is in loving caring hands that will do their professional best. read more

The worst thing about this place was not the cost (I was willing to pay for the best care), not that it didn't give my cat good care(hospital staff was courteous), the worst thing about this place is that it sold me hope... they told me my cat was in the best care available and made me believe that if I threw money at the problem that I could have my cat home again in my arms within a few days They couldn't tell me what was wrong with him I asked the vets and they COULDNT FIGURE IT OUT let alone fix his underlying issues. I can't imagine what was going on in my cat's mind after he was getting blood transfusion after blood transfusion sleeping in a metal cage for weeks. I burned through $20,000 and only to have my beloved cat put down. I feel burned out holding on to hope, calling multiple times throughout the day and waking up and calling at night asking if there was any update. And being assuaged things were under control when they had no idea how to treat him and kept making excuses they've "never seen a case like this before." When I'm burning through thousands of dollars the least they could've done was give me an accurate prognosis. They did not set realistic expectations and just kept asking for more time which was 1500 a day. Know that if you go here, you could be charged an arm and a leg, sold a pipe dream and walk away by yourself instead of with your pet you adopted as family. What are you willing to pay for that dream to do everything for your pet? Because whatever you're willing to pay they will take from you.. I hate that I agreed to everything under duress at the height of panic, I was painted a picture that I could go home with my beloved pet but I went home with an empty wallet, a broken heart but worst of all I came home to an empty cat bed. read more

I took my cat in because of poor breathing, shaking, and obvious pain. We sat and waited for over two and half hours without anyone even taking him back for triage. I asked multiple times how long it would be for someone to simply get his vitals and they said that since he was not considered critical, he would have to continue to wait. I recognize that this is a busy ER but not even checking on his condition or vitals for over two hours is unacceptable. How could they have known whether he was critical if they didn't even look? We ended up leaving this location and taking him to MedVet West Chester where they took him back immediately and discovered that he absolutely was critical and required an extended hospital stay as well as surgery. I'm very disappointed that this location let us down and was unable to give us even the most basic level of care and understanding. Thank you to staff member Scott for trying his best to help us out. Traumatizing experience. While front desk and most staff were sympathetic, the whole experience was nightmarish and unnecessary. In such a large hospital setting there was only one veterinarian on staff and she had multiple critical animals to oversee. I had brought in a young cat for a family member would could not be there due to her on-call profession. Her cat had suddenly developed a severe amount of fluid in chest cavity and struggled to breathe. It was after midnight and I drove from Indiana to get to this Med Vet Dayton facility. Upon arrival the cat was taken in back right away and assessed. He was critical. He was placed in an oxygen chamber and given a basic medical check. I was told he would be stabilized and we could go from there. I was escorted to a private room and waited for hours under the impression that the cat was being treated to make him more comfortable. All I could hear was cries from dogs and cats, which is not to be unexpected but truly heartbreaking. A high school looking young woman came in to gather more information all the while tapping her feet as if in a hurry? The vet finally came in and went over the severity of the cat's prognosis. He needed to have the fluid drained and had become oxygen dependent. I was under the impression that this had been started immediately! She honestly didn't know what was going on but highly suspected heart failure. And the cat had been sitting in the oxygen chamber the whole time without draining! She said she would have a tech come in with estimates on what his care would cost. Another hour + The same foot tapping tech came in with two options-- drain fluid and send him home ( no way he would survive) or overnight with proper draining, tests and observations. Starting price 3k + The tech didn't have any breakdown of prices or other options. I sat in the room for 4.5 hours. All they had done was put the cat in an oxygen chamber. The vet couldn't get a clear image of his heart to definitively rule heart failure. He just sat in there for hours struggling to breathe, while I sat horrified waiting for any information. Serious lack of communication. In the end the cat, Juno, was put down. $600 for what? To have a cat suffer longer without treatment. I will never go there again and will advise others not to do so either. *Private equity and corporate consolidation has jacked up veterinary care cost to be completely unaffordable. Understaffed facilities are a real problem. read more

I have taken about a week since our visit to submit my review because it was an extremely upsetting experience for my poor dog, my husband and myself. I am grateful that we are one of the lucky families that did not lose our animal after visiting the Dayton MedVet. We called before traveling the 30 minute drive from our home to the clinic to ask if what was going on was truly an emergency - we were advised, assured, it was. Major concern for a bowel obstruction - ate an entire shoe, lace and all. We drive the 30 minutes to the clinic for our animal to not be seen for FIVE - SIX HOURS after check in (and at that point, it was still a technician, not even the vet that saw our animal). Thank goodness she was stable because if she had not been, she would be dead as they clearly did not have the staff to manage the cases they were accepting. If you don't have the staff to keep up, MAKE CHANGES. It is not about "winning triage" it is about performing the services you are advertising that you provide. To all patients and families. It is about COMMUNICATING if you know that a family is going to continue waiting for HOURS. I called this clinic at 10:15 p.m. on March 19th, arrived at 11 p.m. on March 19th, and our animal was not seen by a veterinarian until 10 a.m. on March 20th. We were there so long we got to see the scheduled appointments for Friday morning check in - why does an emergency clinic have scheduled services if they are too short staffed for the emergencies? We were CONTINUOUSLY given the run around by techs that she was about to be x rayed, she was about to be seen, if we left at 5 a.m. and came back at 7 a.m. it would all be done and we'd see the next shift doctor at that time.... no. Then when the vet finally saw our animal 11 hours later, felt everything was normal/at least nothing obstructed, she pushed us to hospitalize her for observance and iv fluids for 12 more hours!!! No thanks. Anyway, our household has a happy and healthy pet thankfully (after hydration and observance here at home and follow up with her wonderful regular vet), but we are out $1100 and a full day of lost wages for two adults thanks to being at this clinic overnight. I am glad for the families that had a good experience, but please heed this review. Also, I hope the clinic takes the time they would spend in replying to this review to instead improve their workflows and processes. Thanks! read more

To respond to my comment made on Sept 17, 2025 in which MedVet responded they stand by the decisions made; for everyone reading this review - Medvet was provided a necropsy report from the top forensic veterinarian in the State of Ohio. The report noted that the sole cause of my dog's death was an overdose on fentanyl. He had no fatal conditions. For Medvet to have this report, review this report, and stand by their decision to kill my dog - that should be a red flag to everyone reading this review. Had any accountability been taken, nothing would have been posted. None was. Victoria Fisher was not retrained. Their staff misused a Schedule II drug on my dog, killed him, and stands by that decision. That says a lot about how they align with their mission and how they truly care about your loved one. So I stand by my comment - be aware of the doctor you use. Ask their credentials. Make sure they are appropriately trained. Even though I was a customer of over 20 years, they still killed my dog and had zero remorse. This review is to make sure that this does not happen to anyone else - MedVet does not appear to be doing anything to make sure it will not happen to anyone else. In fact, they stand by their veterinarian's inept decision and their leadership's pathetic response. If this review even saves one beloved family member, it is worth it. read more

I lost my son Milo Lee on 12/01/2024. Dayton MedVet was the most supportive, caring, and overall wonderful people I could have asked to be there. They were fast, efficient, and made sure to communicate to me each step of the way. They tried everything they could to save my son. We were hopeful that Milo would pull through this urinary issue, just as the staff was. To hear the disappointment when they called us and to see the sadness when we got there truly showed me they cared about my babies life. I will forever be thankful for the staff for helping me through the worst moments of my life, I will forever be thankful for their wisdom and their honesty with his condition. Didn't have any compassion at all. He should not be a vet. Do not use Med Vet you might get him. I had to call then to get him to come back into the room to get her. A horrific experience and I recommended them for this very sad time in their life. Instead of making it better they made so much worse as a lasting memory. My dog split his nail and med vet urgent care got us their soonest appointment and fixed him up SO quickly, I was in and out in about an hour (which NEVER happens for us at most vets) This same issue happened last year with his nail and somehow this location charged me 200 dollars less so that was also a huge plus! All the staff was super attentive and listened to any question or comment I had without judgement! They also gave me tons of compliments on how sweet my boy was which made my heart super happy. First, thank you to all the staff who saved our German Shepherd, Millie. We were transported from Care Center in Dayton as they didn't have a surgeon. We took Millie to Care Center around 12:30 am on Saturday for suspected bloat. They didn't tell us they didn't have a surgeon, which is absolutely necessary for Millie's condition. Her stomach had twisted. We arrived at Med Vet a bit after 1:00 am, they immediately took Millie back, ran vitals and most importantly did a gastric decompression via trocharization to relieve the immense pressure. We knew this was a temporary fix until she had surgery. The doctor let us know that as soon as we agreed to proceed, they will began prepping Millie and get a surgeon in. We received a call around 6:00 am that the surgery was complete, and she was recovering. We are so grateful for the staff at MedVet! This was an emergency and they acted as such. They also didn't act fearful of her, there are some vets we have taken her and since she is a Shepherd she is at times treated like she is aggressive before they even know her. Not here, all the nurses were excellent! Millie is an anxious gal, but she was given medication for that as well so she could rest and recover. Each time we called for an update, they were pleasant, and we didn't feel like we were a burden. She has been home for two days now and is doing amazing. Thank you again MedVet for literally saving her life! This could have been a much different outcome. Forever grateful! read more

I Took My Baby Boy Here On Sunday December 29th. I was completely devastated and emotional with him being so sick. The total lack of empathy I received from the male worker here was unbelievable. We were approached with a dollar amount to even start any kind of treatment and find out the issue he was having. Me and my husband were told we could be given a moment to discuss our options and what we wanted to do. Within literally 2 minutes the same gentleman ( and I use that term loosely) Came back and said we need to get in a room to start the process of helping him pass. We had NEVER even said that was our decision. I felt so rushed and confused. Sadly we left that day without our baby and I was never even given an answer to what was a wrong with him. We did choose to have him cremated so he could always be with us and the lady that helped us through that process was very patient and helpful. My mind was in such a fog the days following that I didn't or couldn't process the experience but now I am thinking back and I would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone taking there pet here. Our dog was our family. He was 10 years old and we had picked him from his litter at 7 weeks old. He was with us everyday for 10 years. No different than a human child. 1. It was a very stressful situation and MedVet tried to take advantage of it. they offered one invasive $4,000 solution. Yet, I had read there was simpler non-invasive possible solution that they should have mentioned to me. but I had to mention it/ask them about it!! and Yes, it was a possible solution so I had to then ask for instructions. It worked!!! to add more to this terrible experience, beyond the initial consult, the x-ray costs were outrageous at $226. Then I saw a charge of $43 for a Patient care op. I called them after and asked what was this. They said it was for the tech taking my dog to back and watching her since she was doing what a dogs do, sniffing around while I had her on leash!! no problems in the office area at all. Do they expect a dog to just sit there and not move. I didn't realize it at the time, but there are other emergency vet places in Dayton, OH, but open during regular business hours. I will never ever take a pet to MedVet again. Years ago I took my cat and I had to have him put to sleep once I picked him up he was worse when I picked him up then when I dropped him off. And just a few months ago I took my dog in there to check why he had a high calcium level I took him in for an ultrasound. But two or three days I went to see him and he didn't even know me. When I drop that dog off he was fine he was eating Chick-fil-A. I never saw my true dog after that. I don't know what all they did to him but when I picked him up I had to have him put down the next day. We had taken our beloved little Winnie (14 yo Imperial Shih Tzu) many years ago to these guys for a tummy ache and they took good care of her. All very straightforward. Fortunately, she had been very healthy, and so we never needed them again --out of sight/out of mind. This past Sunday morning (5 days ago now --which seems a lifetime ago), Winnie woke up with a scared look in her eyes but no real complaints and shook it off. She slowly became weaker and weaker throughout the day and I rushed her to MedVet. In just under 9 hrs, Winnie went from OK to being put to sleep in our arms. All of the staff took us seriously from the moment we arrived, checked us in very professionally, expeditiously, and compassionately --patiently prodding me with the right questions and redirecting my nervous/anxious rambling. They were full of patients in the back and lots of people in the waiting room (more than 10). Routine 'urgent'/non-scheduled visit wait time was said to be about 7-9 hrs. All within 20 mins, they checked us in, triaged her, got her vitals, established that it was serious, and rushed her to see the vet --for a faithful physical exam, blood tests, ultrasound, and diagnosis: Blood in her abdomen from a hemorrhaging tumor on her spleen. With no satisfying prognosis for time or discomfort no matter what we decided, the vet gave me as detailed an explanation as I wanted (I am a physician); with my heartbreaking, my wife, my daughter, and I alternated holding/cuddling her. We put our precious Winnie to sleep while looking into her eyes and cuddling her --and the vet and staff took their time with us and helped us make all the needed decisions and arrangements. I cannot rave enough about them, to begin with, but... yesterday (Thursday) we received a small envelope from MedVet, and to my wonderful surprise, they had clipped some locks of her hair and placed them in the hair bows she had on when I took her in; they took off her scarf she had and sent all of these back to us (things that after-the-fact we all regretted leaving on her, but we had been so in-shock of it all, that we didn't think of it at the moment -- and regretted badly ever since). What a gentle and kind touch! What attention to detail! I cannot express what that has meant to us - and how impressed I am with their compassion and professionalism for pets and their owners. Bravo! If only we could mimic such care, professionalism, compassion, and expediency in the provision of quality care to our human patients. I say Bravo again to you all! I'm sorry I can only rate you 5 stars. --And thank you from our whole family: wife and me, 6 kids, and 8 grandkids; you have touched us all forever, with such a simple gesture (that some might not give a second thought to). I'm not sure how I feel and hover between 2-3 stars. Ultimately, I went with 3 because nothing objectively bad happened and the specialist we saw was knowledgeable, even though the experience was less than ideal. We were sent to MedVet by our primary vet for Oncology, as we found a lump on our senior cat's face. We got in pretty quickly for an appointment with Dr. Back. They didn't examine the cat in your presence, which felt a little off putting for a primary exam. Afterwards, the vet didn't come back, and next steps weren't well explained by the tech. We were told that they would be able to do a biopsy with a local anesthetic. We were also given the option to have an echocardiogram done that would allow for her to have a CT scan, but that this wasn't necessary. When planning next steps, there were extra services we hadn't covered with the vet, including labs and a chest X-ray. We asked about necessity and were under the impression that the X-ray was to determine if the cancer had spread. We were primarily there to diagnose whether or not the lump was cancer in the first place. Given it's location, it was thought to be inoperable, and we had already resigned ourselves to palliative care as prognosis would be poor, so we didn't understand the purpose of the X-ray. We asked about costs and we're quoted some numbers which were quite costly. We then asked for a breakdown because it wasn't adding up. This took some doing, but they did as asked and would review at home before calling back to schedule. We decided for now that we just wanted the biopsy. The X-ray would cost over $400 and we thought it was optional. So, we called and told them we wanted to do the blood/urine panel (even though she'd had this done a few months prior) and the biopsy. We told them we didn't want to do the X-ray until we understood if the lump was actually cancer. We dropped her off in the morning, believing she was having a biopsy. Around noon, the vet called and told us her labs and X-ray were mostly normal, though showed an enlarged heart given her age and a known condition. This is when we were informed she wasn't even having a biopsy. Ultimately, we spent $1K+ on a lab she had just had and an X-ray that ended up being pointless. She then told us that in order to do the biopsy, they'd have to get the echocardiogram so they could put her under, which wasn't what we were told. She was apologetic that we misunderstood, though I don't see how that is, as we went to MedVet for an echo and biopsy and were told that we could do the biopsy under local. It was very concerning that we dropped off our pet with no idea what was happening and that the vet could do whatever they wanted without our permission when this wasn't an emergency. This lack of communication was not acceptable and cost us money needlessly. When we came to pick her up, Dr. Back told us upon further exam she believed the tumor was likely squamous cell carcinoma, given its size and some other findings. I question why this wasn't done before the x-ray, if the purpose of the X-ray was to clear for biopsy and now we don't even the need the biopsy?!! While I don't lack confidence in her experience, empathy and bedside manner left a bit to be desired. Maybe I'm sensitive, but it kind of seemed like the vet wanted it to be cancer not in some sinister way, but in the way that someone who is an expert in a specific field is fascinated by it. In lieu of a biopsy, we were offered a needle aspirate again, which may or may not diagnose. We decided to do that but left with the understanding that our cat had cancer. We got some meds to manage palliative care at home and a brief summary of what to expect, though no web links or other pieces of info or a clear timeline. We got a call the next day confirming presence of squamous cells and that was that. Surgery isn't an option and prognosis is poor even with chemo pill or radiation. For now, our cat still seems her usual self. We understand this can go downhill but don't know when. Perhaps these things don't have answers? But I joined an online group and it seems others are getting more info. I understand we can call with questions, but given the lack of clear communication, MedVet's Poot overall reputation and tendency to put profit first, I find myself with a lack of trust. I've considered taking her elsewhere for more trustworthy or supportive care. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. We waited 5 1/2 hours. And left without being seen. Our dog has not eaten in three days. Has not had a bowel movement other than water. And we are worried about an obstruction. Other dogs came in with an ear that is a little "fatter than normal" and were seen right away. A dog that was here an hour before our visit was still waiting when we left 5 1/2 hours later. He needs stitches. I heard them tell the owner that he should not wait until tomorrow because it could start to clot. Well I'm pretty sure after this period of time it's already started to coagulate. Worst job of triage ever. But if you have a cat, they take you back right away. All of the cat people were in and gone right away. I hope our elderly dog holds in there until vet tomorrow. read more

Our dog was extremely ill and our vet recommended MedVet. This was our first experience and we were concerned that we may lose our precious pup due her extreme illnes. The MedVet shared with us the initial test results they performed and gave us options in moving forward. We chose surgery and we are so glad we did. The surgeon was excellent in communicating what would occur and followed up with us after the surgery. He even suggested she come home a day early, as she would heal better at home. Not very impressed. At all. Our dog was mauled by a pit bull, and suffered a fairly serious laceration to her hindquarters at about 2:30 a few Sundays back. We transported her to this location and proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait some more. Our dog was finally taken for vitals, administered methadone and we waited some more. We kept getting bumped for "more serious cases" while our dog waited in pain, and we were worried sick. Meanwhile, time kept slipping away, until somewhere around midnight, we were told our dog was "next in line," for the third or fourth or fifth time. She was finally treated, and sent home with a vacuum pump/catheter setup, and a long suture line at roughly 2:30 AM. TWELVE HOURS LATER. A week passed, we brought her in to get the tube removed, and were assured that she looked fine. The next week, on Monday morning, we brought our dog to our own vet, concerned that her suture line wasn't looking right. Our fears were confirmed: the original surgical repair was done incorrectly, in that the traumatized wound edges hadn't been trimmed back far enough into viable skin, and had died. The whole suture line was dying, and opening back up. Our vet had to sedate and re-operate on our dog, removing the old sutures, trimming away the necrotic tissue, reapproximating the wound edges, and re-suturing our dog. This, after $1,300 for the MedVet staff to do what they did, poorly. I'll never bring another animal to MedVet. I suggest you discuss emergency protocols with your regular vet before you need such services. read more

Great care for our pet!!! We had to bring in our Schnauzer due to a pretty bad tongue laceration that would not stop bleeding. They took great care of our beloved dog and we're straight up front with us, saying it maybe 6 hours before they get to do a full examination. It was 7PM so we gave them our number and went home getting sleep. The hospital called us, updated us and gave us options for treatment. We ended up sedating Bella, and they intubated her as she is a senior dog. Did a great job on the sutures! Total Cost? About $1100 - which is exactly where we expected it to be read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! We have used this location multiple times because they were the only vets close to us open on the weekends, and the past few visits have not been pleasant. We have just been before for some regular sickness things and got meds but recently within the past year the first visit with our 1 dog and they wanted to keep her overnight and charge for oxygen for $5k a night. We did not pay for that but they did give us some techniques to do at home to help which I will give them points for. Then they overdiagnosed our second dog and they refused to do imaging the first time we brought her in and sent her home. The next day she was worse and then they overdiagnosed her to the worst possible outcome, which was not the case after getting a second opinion. If they would've done imaging on her the first time as we asked, then we would've gotten the correct diagnosis the first time. On top of that, they made us feel like our dog was dying, and if we didn't do what they said she wouldn't make it. I am glad we are knowledgeable enough about our breed of dog to know the difference and to get a second opinion because I'm sure they corner people more often and make them feel the same way to get a good chunk of change out of people. Overall, they 2-3x overcharge you for the simplest things and they jump to the worst possible outcome with no imaging or labs to confirm their diagnosis. Wish I couldn't give any stars. I've been here twice in 3 days and have spent 11 hours and counting in the waiting room. My dog has an infection and now an open wound where the inflammation caused the wound to rupture. The first night she stayed over night for IV fluids and it cost us almost $2,000. The staff doesn't provide any updates on wait time, check on your pet, monitor the waiting room or anything while you are waiting. These animals could literally pass away in the waiting room and you would have to inform the staff because they just hang out at the desk and chit chat. Very unprofessional, unacceptable and ridiculous. The "Urgent" care is a joke. Over 14 hours altogether and the issue with my dog is not corrected. What a shame. read more

I recently had to bring my cat in to be euthanized due to organ failure and she couldnt breathe. I was concerned bc i had no money and they assured me that they would do a compassionate euthanization. They took her back as soon as we walked in. Our dog was having some issues with going down stairs and raising her head so we decided to take her to the vet. Problem is, our current family vet doesn't take call in appts or drop-ins. You have to call them between 745a-8a and hope you're get in. So we looked for vets using Yelp and the one closest to our house had 3.5 start average but also had a few somewhat questionable reviews. MedVet had same 3.5 stars but it was either for cost or wait. We decided to make the road trip to MedVet. We get there, you call the phone number that's listed all over on signs and greet them at Drop-off A, B or C. They took Sophie in, and we wait... and we wait... and for sure, there is a wait. They do tell you that you can go back home or if you have anything else to do please go do it and they will call you. Maybe wander over to carillon park while you wait? After a couple hours, they call for more details and we give them, another hour or so the Dr calls back and gives us their assessment. Herniated Disk. We get a couple RX's and our pup and off we go. The total for the visit was $200 which is just a little more than what we pay at our normal vet for a visit. So either the people who reviewed that the place costs too much might have been getting epic deals with other vets? Who knows. Sophie's better and that's all that matters. The waiting team is closed, you can wait in your car and they'll open the doors if you need to use the public restrooms. Everybody there was nice to us, they all apologized for how long it took but as you watch people pull up, have people come out with carts and help lift their pets out of the back seats wrapped in blankets and sheets... can your really be mad at anybody here. I simply couldn't do this. I find it amazing that there are people who can. Kudos to them. read more

Seems to only be reasonable and fast if you're putting a pet down. They forgot about us be then said a hour then waited another 5 hours then told 3 more dogs were before mine. I wish I had read all these reviews before I entrusted my son's cat to these quacks. Our cat needed an operation and we were directed to one of two specialists. We made the mistake of choosing this one. After the operation, our cat would not eat or drink. They finally put in a feeding tube after our kitty had suffered for several weeks. In the end, they had waited too long and our kitty died - after over $8,000 in procedures. Don't go here!!! read more
