My experience at VEG was as good as a late night vet visit could be, and better than the experience at the regular vet, if I'm honest. Ginger was seen as soon as we walked in. The facility was very clean and I loved the open space concept. Everything was very transparent and I didn't feel like anything was being recommended or decided behind my back. The staff would check regularly on all the pets and demonstrated so much care. The staff presented me with various care options with no judgement or pressure to choose a treatment plan throughout the process. They even offered snacks and drinks while I waited. They weren't in any rush to make us leave, and even helped get Ginger back in my car as it was super icy outside. I will absolutely recommend VEG to anyone in need of an emergency vet.

Several great samaratins got out, stopped traffic altogether and saved the dog from running/limping out in front of a car. My wife and I work with a rescue and we scooped the dog up, put him in the back of our car and brought him here. This place was amazing. They came out, got him out of the car, sedated him, calmed him down, talked to us for as much detail as we could give. Thankfully he was tagged and chipped so we called the # on the tag. They were amazing to both of us and more importantly the dog we brought in. If either of our dogs ever need emergency care I'll be taking them here. An incredible place from top to bottom.

The other receptionist was amazing as well, I sadly didn't get her name to mention in this review. We had Katie T. As our assistant for the doctor. She was great with our pup. Both doctors we had were great as well. I'm happy to say we will be returning as a patient.

I ended up discovering it myself once we got home. Additionally, some of the front desk staff showed a complete lack of empathy and did not take concerned pet parents seriously. I witnessed one woman bring in her dog--she was clearly distressed and spoke English as a second language--and the front desk employee made no effort to treat her or her pet with kindness. The interaction was dismissive and lacked basic compassion. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. I strongly recommend going to a different MedVet location. The front desk staff here seem overwhelmed and in need of a break, and unfortunately, it shows in the level of care and compassion provided.

From the moment I walked in, no one even took me seriously. They asked me why I brought him in and I told them gastrointestinal issues. They asked if he was urinating and I was like "ummmm maybe?" The person at the front desk called for a tech "stat because the cat isn't urinating." We get into a room and they come in a few minutes later after examining him wanting to ask some questions. I told them another cat in my house had just had gastrointestinal issues and been sick (brought it home from the vet's office the week prior we think). That wasn't even a question in their mind. The doctor who came to talk to me wanted to focus on "stress at home" and asked about his litter box and food. Then brought out an estimate for $1200 to have an x Ray and bloodwork done even though he had JUST had his wellness check at the vet within the last month and he was given a clean bill of health. They said "well things can change in a day." Ok fine - you're the professionals so I trust you. Nearly two hours later they come back and inform me that the bloodwork was normal and his x Ray was negative for blockage or abnormalities in his abdomen (thank goodness!) but said they could keep him and hospitalize him and send him for additional testing with an internal medicine doctor if I "really wanted to get to the bottom of things." They gave me NO answers and guidance about what was likely the problem and the doctor actually said "it could be cancer. We don't really know," and urged me to hospitalize him for what I'm sure would have been thousands more. I opted to get them to give him subcutaneous fluids and an anti nausea medication so I could take him home and pursue care with his primary vet. Turns out: virus. Thanks for the nice scare throwing out cancer for a 5-year old healthy cat with normal bloodwork and exams. Way to live those core values of caring about your patients and customers. I will NEVER use MedVet ever again. It is the biggest ripoff and runaround.

We had hoped for an overnight stay and a treatment plan, but it just wasn't going to help much. The staff were very empathetic and patient while we figured out what we were going to do. Sweetie came in to be with her while I picked Kid K up from school. The staff also made sure to take kid concerns into account. They're open 24 hours, and not every visit is going to end like this. The most recent visit I took my cat for an unknown medical emergency at around 6:30 p.m.. She was alive, but unresponsive. They immediately started triage, but they absolutely didn't have a clue and were more concerned with paperwork and getting their money. While the staff was initially compassionate, it was ALL about money ... and they got a lot of it even though my cat ended up passing away. When I left, she was hooked up to many tubes and monitors with assurance of one on one care and monotoring throughout the night after admitting her. I returned several times throughout the night to check on her and then left for the night after they admitted her around 9:30. I decided to return for a surprise visit around 10:30 to sit with my cat only to find the monitors had been removed and she was unresponsive with staff performing CPR. They made me wait to go back to see her and I believe they were scrambling to come up with an adequate story. When I questioned them as to why the monitors were removed, they struggled for an answer. She was laying on a bare table with no blanket as if the table had already been cleaned. The vet (and I use the term loosely) told me that she was doing much better with her eyes open and was responsive with her vitals back to normal, so that's why they removed the tubes and monitors. Somehow, none of this made sense. Why is she now dead? I think they removed the monitors the minute I left and were unexpectedly surprised when I made a late night visit. They collected nearly $5,000 for their services, including a consultation fee with another Med Vet location and a fee for unforeseen circumstances. As it turns out, this fee was for cremation services. The bill was collected and paid up front and my cat passed about four hours after arriving in their care. I will never trust them again and events indicate they dropped the ball the minute I left. DO NOT take your beloved pet to this facility. It's just a money pit that takes advantage of your emotions at a vulnerable time. I am devastated by this loss and I am convinced she could have been saved with proper care. They were the closest facility and time was of the essence. I realize pets can die, but their explanation just doesn't ring true. They are nice people, but completely incompetent. I am sure none of this can be proved, but someone should be held accountable. Total hacks. UPDATE: MedVets has credited by account back $1744 ... much appreciated, but bottom line ... my cat is still dead under what appears to be suspicious circumstances.

Dr Emma Lasley misdiagnosed my dog due to age discrimination even though I repeatedly told her my…read moredog had ingested half pound of chocolate & was suffering severe symptoms of chocolate toxicity which could be fatal. As soon as I told her my dog was 13yrs old, she told me it was NOT chocolate toxicity & after an ultrasound she told me that my dog had a very large tumor & only had days to live. She gave me expensive prescriptions to "keep my dog comfortable," which made my dog so out of it that you'd believe she might be dying. What my dog needed was IV fluids to dilute the theobromine & caffeine which are the poisons to dogs in the chocolate, & IV fluids make it easier on the dog as it works its way through their system. My dog was experiencing every single symptom of chocolate toxicity, including internal swelling & bleeding, which can appear as a large tumor on the liver in an ultrasound! This vet never mentioned chocolate toxicity after I told her initially this is what was happening & she told me it was NOT! Leaving no possibility that this could be anything other than liver cancer because my dog was 13yrs old. This visit cost me $345! And my dog did not even receive proper treatment for the entire reason in which I had taken her. She could have died from chocolate toxicity due to no treatment!! But she did not! Because when she woke up the next morning she was doing much better so I stopped the meds which made her seem so sick & unresponsive. She improved from there & a visit to her regular vet confirmed she was suffering from extreme chocolate toxicity & was very fortunate to have survived without any treatment despite the expensive visit to the emergency vet office, Care Center & seeing Dr Emma Lasley! She does not have a tumor on her liver, that was just swelling from the toxicity & Dr Lasley should have known this was a possibility, but she stereotyped my baby as an old dog who certainly must be dying in her eyes! Thank God I made the decisions I made by stopping the meds so that I could tell that my dog was back to normal, & taking her to an intelligent, PROFESSIONAL vet who ran the proper tests & considered her symptoms could possibly be from chocolate toxicity after ingesting possibly more than a half pound instead of giving a 100% diagnosis of a terminal tumor simply because of her age. If I had listened to Dr Lasley, my dog would've been on these debilitating meds the rest of her life because I could not afford chemo or surgery, which certainly could've shortened her life as one of them affected the brain. Which she told me to discuss surgery with my family if my dog actually did not pass in the next few days. She traumatized me for no reason & completely disregarded not only the chocolate toxicity but the fact that there could be anything else at all that could be the cause of her symptoms. And she was dead wrong! Please DO NOT take your pet to this emergency veterinary clinic because unless you have a lot of medical knowledge yourself, your animal could be misdiagnosed, untreated for what is really wrong, & possibly lose their life because of this! With all my heart I wish I'd held out until morning when my regular vet opened so that I wasn't forced to throw away $345 & get zero relief or treatment for my dog. I'm considering suing them for my money back & what they put my dog & myself through. I took my dog in as an emergency because her chocolate toxicity symptoms were severe & she was even convulsing on & off as well as shaking uncontrollably. I was afraid she was dying from this toxicity but thank God she wasn't because this vet did absolutely NOTHING for her chocolate toxicity because she misdiagnosed her & refused to listen to reason & consider that the toxicity was responsible. Had she died I would have already retained an attorney. But right now I am concerned for all the other innocent animals who might find themselves in need of emergency medical services. They will NOT receive proper treatment from this veterinarian at this facility! PLEASE do your research & take them to a much more professional clinic with vets who won't stereotype & actually consider all circumstances before diagnosing & who will give your animal proper treatment!

Those types of compassionate discounts are something that they very seriously need to think about offering. I think it would seriously help with their ratings (and their ratings could frankly use some help). I honestly do trust that they did everything possible to save my cats life and they all appeared very professional, very caring, compassionate and concerned. However, their billing policies shows very clearly that their final bottom line is that they are very much a "for-profit business" and you should have no illusions about that if you take your pet there for help. The first thing they ask about after getting your name and your pets name and why you are there, is your credit card information. One final thought......please carefully look over their other reviews here (I sincerely wish I had before I took my poor cat there) and then think about what you have read in these reviews a bit and then honestly ask yourself: "Why are so, so many of their reviews only one star?"
