This facility is amazing and saved my kittens life!! Early on a Sunday I found my kitten hiding in a corner, not eating, lethargic and very warm to the touch. My bf and I researched and found VEG ER was honestly our best option. This facility was set up like a war-times triage. The staff took us immediately, wasting no time. They took his vitals, were incredibly gentle and so so kind. He had a high fever of unknown causes. They treated him immediately with fluids and medication and within hours he showed signs of improvement. The staff here was incredible. People that truly love animals and have patience for days. They will also work with you on costs. They gave an initial estimate with a full breakdown, then gave a 2nd estimate with the "must do" procedures. Watch out, this place is a scam! When you walking in, they all shout loudly "Welcome our new patient". At that moment you should walk out, because they are a sales team, and their main goal is to over charge you but not to help your animal friend. We were promised by them three times that they have magic tricks to calm down our dog before his examination, because he didn't have time to take sedative medication. Then we found out their magic trick is to have me put a muzzle on my dog, which of course my dog said no. Then my dog had no exam and went home stressed. And they still charged me 200 dollars for that, just shameful business, everyone be aware! read more

Our 13 year old fur baby, Archie needed immediate care this past 4th of July weekend. He was struggling to get around, eat and drink,he had declined very rapidly over the course of the weekend. Dr Williams saw him and quickly diagnosed him with the portable ultrasound to have a large abdominal mass that was bleeding into his abdomen. This is not the diagnosis I wanted to hear, but I appreciated the quick diagnosis to stop the suffering of my beloved boy. Claims he can read X-rays, and clearly missed numerous things on the slides, said we would get a call with results and NO call ever came, our dog's condition got so much worse in a 5 hr span and he passed away. Having to bring your dog to any doctor is traumatic event for you and your pet. Our Chloe was over 19 years old and pretty much much deaf and blind, but she was still active and eating well. On Monday when we got home from a lunch out we couldn't find our Chloe, we looked everywhere, hearing little whimperings we tracked her down and she had somehow wedged herself between a chair and a table and couldn't get out. She was disoriented and not really responding to us. We decided even though it was Labor Day we needed to get her too a doctor. so we chose the veteran emergency group in Oakley as they were a 24-hour a day clinic. We gave a call first to make sure they were open on a holiday. they took some basic information. told us to come over and sent a link to my phone so I could pre-register. When we arrived we were ushered in and although they were busy, Dr. Irene came over and started reviewing what the situation was, because of pre-registering everything went quite efficiently. They took Chloe's vital signs and put them into the computer and then when Dr. Irene was completed taking care of another patient, she came over and we discussed potential options. At Chloe's advanced age there was very little that could be done other than painkillers, but it was obvious that we had a very big decision to make. Irene, showing immense compassion led us through our options, and Pam and I made a tough decision to have Chloe go gently with us by her side. read more

My 17 year old Pekingese had what I think was a stroke on a Sunday night. He was deaf, blind but until Sunday had a quality of life. I have been plagued with death recently. I lost my husband, brother, three dear friends and another dog. I knew it was Benny's time and didn't want an exam since the end result would be the same. I was alone and felt that I couldn't handle being with him when he died. I told the girl on the phone that and she emailed what needed to be filled out so I could just drop him off. I felt bad enough about how I had to handle it but I was not judged and treated with compassion. I thank you for being so caring to not just Benny but to me as well. When in the very early hours my older dog tried to urinate for 15 minutes and nothing came out, I knew something was wrong. I called Veterinary Emergency Group and spoke to a doctor immediately. We were there within 15 minutes and they helped us rule out some serious issues. They have a suspicion of what might be going on and provided us with a medication to test for effectiveness. We will be following up with his regular veterinarian tomorrow. Both sets of doctors and technicians who looked after my dog were excellent. I don't have everyone's name, but I would call them out for how well they took care of my boy and the exceptional kindness they showed this nervous, uncomfortable dog. read more

My daughter took her dog in here for a bite by another dog. They stitched him up and added a drain and sent him home. The day after the wound started to smell and took on a black color. My daughter emailed a picture and called and talked to them and they said everything was good. The day after she went in to remove the drain and the "new vet" that stitched her dog said the wound looked good. Another vet said no- the flesh is rotting. They still sent her home and told her to wait 2 weeks before they would do anything else. Bear in mind, the dog smelled like rotten flesh and was in pain. My daughter send a picture to our dogs regular vet that performed a procedure where they removed the stitches and cleaned off the rotting flesh asap. They also put him on the right antibiotic and after 3 days the dog is finally eating, sleeping and going to the bathroom again. Listening to the ER vets her dog would still have rotting flesh and be in pain. The vet that took care of our pup was new, Dr McKenna Busateri but the more season vet still let them send her home with a dog with rotting flesh. read more

We were advised to bring our ill cat to this clinic because there was minimal waiting time. During our first visit, we were informed that our cat had gastritis. Returned a second time and was told the cat had heart failure and fluid around the lungs. The estimated cost for treatment was approximately $5,000. Not agreeing with this diagnosis, we decided to take our cat to our regular vet after the weekend. There were no signs of heart failure and the vet recommended that we visit MedVet for a diagnosis. MedVet reviewed the imaging and determined that the issue was not a heart problem--our cat had a large tumor (not heart failure and no fluid around the lungs) and nothing could be done. If we had followed the initial misdiagnosis, we would have spent $5,000 and subjected our cat to unnecessary suffering. Three vets and no one was close to what the issue was. This was a nightmare. read more

Very friendly. I love the staff. I was in on Christmas morning. Just what I wanted to do. Again a couple of weeks ago. Their tests came back fine. After I told them I think they have a parasite. Disregarded my concern. Told me one was overweight. I thought to myself, you do know parasites cause bloating. I am in the biology field and if I knew what I would be administering I'd fucking do it myself. Unless you need vitals checked and they might be nervous as I was told. Do not take them. I am once again looking for an actual Dr. that knows the basics of caring for animals. read more

My precious Kitty was in urgent need of help. She was previously treated by a vet who disregarded some of her health issues which led to an emergency situation. I have had animals that have required treatment at a couple different emergency hospitals. This hospital is by far the most impressive I have ever dealt with and that is putting it lightly. The compassion and urgency of the staff when met with a sick animal was absolutely amazing. They walked me through every form of treatment that they performed on my very very sick girl. I sincerely have never felt so much relief when leaving my sick pet in the care of anyone as I do with this entire staff. They even allow pet owners to stay overnight with their pets if that is what they feel is best for them and their animal. I hope if you are looking for an emergency vet clinic in Cincinnati that you go here and experience what I experienced this evening. Best experience of my life hands down.
