We have been clients of PetVet365 for four years and love them! After moving to the area 12 years…read moreago, we had two horrendous experiences with another vet and lost two of our dogs after care at that vet. (After boarding one of them, he died in my arms an hour after picking him up. They didn't notice that he was in respiratory distress. Just thought he was "nervous.") As you can imagine, we were very wary of looking for another vet. Thankfully, we tried PetVet365 and have been very pleased with them ever since. Over the last four years, we have rescued two dogs and had two still from when we moved here. Sadly, one passed due to age and heart issues that he had had all his life. PetVet365 managed his cardiac meds for several years until he passed at age 15 and 9 mos. However, one of the rescues was adopted as a puppy, and PetVet365 even helped socialize him until he was old enough to socialize in other environments. They welcomed our second rescue with open arms at the age of two. She had her semi-annual visit today, and she thought she was at a play date! Even our 16 1/2 year old chihuahua, who can be grumpy with anyone not her family, loves them! Their hours are so convenient for us because we work during the week. They always follow up to see how the patient is doing after a visit or procedure, which I greatly appreciate, having been in the medical field for 40 years myself. One item that I would note is that just like in human doctors' offices, you have medical practices and you have urgent care. You wouldn't walk into a doctor's office where you are not a patient and expect to be seen. You would need to establish care. That is not to say that they absolutely don't take walk-ins because I have seen people bring in a dog that they found and they scanned the dog for a microchip. That being said, if you're part of the wellness plan, they can be reached by text after hours, which is quite helpful. One of our dogs was on a prescription diet for urinary issues and that can be pricey. We got his diet through Chewy and never had a problem with getting his prescription for us to mail in ourselves. Also, we take their flea and tick meds to Costco where the price is the lowest. Again, never a problem to get that Rx in hand. No attitude whatsoever. When we brought up the diet after he had been on it for awhile, Dr. Smith gave us her blessing to wean him off of that and put him on regular diet to see how he does. We love this practice and would recommend to anyone looking for a vet!

We live in Crittenden now, but I still make the trip to see Dr. Huesing. The office has always gotten us in quickly and the prices are very reasonable. He won me over when my kids were toddlers and we got a puppy from the pound. Two days after we got him home he started getting sick and was diagnosed with Parvo. We couldn't afford a huge vet bill and, long story short, Dr. Huesing kept the puppy at his office for 2 nights and gave the puppy medicine. He only charged me $30 for the medicine when the time came to put him out of his misery. He can be a little gruff at times, but it's only when he thinks you are doing something that is not in the best interest of your pet. He will tell you what he thinks, which I appreciate. I've tried other vets closer to home at times through the years, but I never cared for any of them as much as Dr. Huesing. His years of experience have made him very knowledgeable and I'm sure he's seen it all. His staff has been with him just about as long and they are wonderful as well.

I called in this morning if I can have my miniature poodle for an emergency checkup due to having blood on his stool. The lady were able to get me in today for a 3:30 pm appointment. Their process is different due to the pandemic. I have to wait in the car, call them so I can check in, then an assistant will come take the dog from you and ask questions. Then you are asked to wait in u you sir car, and they will call you if you want to go ahead with the procedures or options of treatment for your dog. I took my older dog in this week for a dental cleaning, which he has had before at the other location so I knew generally what to expect. I dropped him off around 7:30am and called during my lunch to check on him which is when I was told he had a couple teeth pulled (the first time this has ever happened). He is a 7 year old Chihuahua, so that wasn't completely surprising, however I was told this by a receptionist or tech who had no further information. She didn't know why or which teeth. I was never called by the vet or tech that presided over the cleaning that day to explain which teeth and why. At the highland heights location, the vet personally calls you regardless to even tell you that their teeth were in great shape, let alone if one had to be pulled. They called me later to tell me he was finished, and still didn't know which teeth were pulled but told me they would give me the paper the vet/tech filled out during the procedure that would show the teeth. So this was disappointing in terms of communication but I was willing to let it go since overall it seems they did an acceptable job. A couple days pass and my chihuahua is finally back to his normal self enough to where I notice now that he has a decent sized bald patch at the back base of his tail. This was very shocking because I did not know what caused this, I initially even thought it was my new puppy that attacked my older dog. Thankfully I have a close friend with extensive vet tech experience and they explained that the vet did this and for what reasons. This had never been done to my chihuahua at his other handful of dental cleanings, so I was completely clueless and terrified before I found out what caused this. I really wish this experience had been better because I was already sold on permanently switching locations but I don't feel very confident after this experience overall. I feel like animals should be given autonomy through their owners, not just sent back home while giving no information to the owner as to what happened or why.
