So today I'm not feeling and decided to go to Medrite urgent care. I live in garfield and when I politely ask to see a doctor. The rude latian said that I would be able to see the doctor without paying my copay. I told her to bill me and she said she couldn't. My mother asked for office manager, she claimed "there is no office manager only me or my coworker." I had no choice but to leave and find another one. My advice is don't bother when dealing with rude people. read more

I've been coming here since pre covid and haven't had a bad experience. Through the pandemic, there were only 2 times that I waited on long lines for a COVID swab. I got tested many times and I'm mostly in and out very quickly. I love it here overall but upset that they recently did not inform me my new insurance was out of network until we received bills for the family. read more

Back in October, I was visiting a friend in New Jersey (I live in PA) and wasn't feeling great. I'd never really been to an urgent care center but wanted to get checked out since I was going to be around a lot of people that week and didn't want to spread anything. I was visiting family last weekend and my son broke out with the worst rash I have ever seen. I usually avoid going to the doctor myself but in the past year we have had a handful of times where we unexpectedly have to go to the doctor (perk of having kids, right?). I always expect urgent care facilities to be hectic and full of staff that doesn't really want to be there..but the friendliness and professionalism from the staff blew me away! They accept my insurance this is a plus but recently I was made to wait an hour plus to find out certain types of meds are not done by the office. I've given good reviews and updated adding Dr. Hernandez. But the reception desks phone mannerisms are very rude, abrupt and dismissive the past two times I called in the past two days to find out if my Dr. would up my dosage. She said, oh the results are not back, I told her yes I was told they were the day before. She sighed and was not happy that was the case. I've had the same thing happen in the past, I had blood taken the Dr upped the dosage very easily, no problem, but they we're soo much nicer and respectful. Maybe I'm dealing with new people there but, WOW. Not at all good in my book. So maybe it's not worth my time or money there. See even though they might be busy, that attitude sucks royally. Understandably they ask you to wear a mask at the door. However, they also ask you from the door why you're here so you can announce your ailment to the entire office. Isn't that a violation of HIPAA laws? Basic common sense would tell them to offer said patient a mask and then keep their voices down when speaking to patients about why they came in for a visit. read more

The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. It was different from any other urgent care I've been to.

It's the worst place ever. The only thing they care about is money. They tells you, you have to do some extra tests that you don't need and you have to pay for that. You pay them a fee for the test and then you get another bill from the lab. When you complain about it they're incredibly rude, tells you it's your problem. They offer on site lab. Before I went there I asked them twice what I have to pay. When I got double charged for a simple test they just told me that they do some test in the office and they send some to a different lab. What is going on with them?! They also charge $125 for COVID-19 test which should be free. Front desk is very incompetent and rude. They have no idea what they doing. This place was a complete waste of time and money. I utilized this facility twice and I am at a complete disbelief that it even acquired a certification. To put briefly, its unethical to take someone's money when you've poorly diagnosed them based on a 5 second visual assessment. I came to this facility with a 102 fever a day before I was diagnosed with the flu in the emergency room with a 105 fever. The fact that I took what I thought to be an affordable precaution which ultimately costed me a lot more money than i anticipated to spend is really the reason why I'm leaving this review. I trusted a doctor who stuck a wooden stick in my mouth for the sake of giving a lousy test, and threw yet another prescription for antibiotics with hopes that I have some sort of bacterial disease. Again, because of his negligence, I am now burdened with excessive medical expenses that presents a financial hardship. Thanks a lot! read more

I never leave reviews but felt I had to warn people. They lied and told me I was in network, (which is shocking that they're not because I have NJ teachers insurance.) I made sure to ask TWICE before I got there and wound up with $100 bill anyway. Make sure to take the extra step to check with your insurance before you go to these guys. Mine was a little visit, if it were a big one, you might wind up owing these guys your house. read more

Came here twice for COVID testing. Prior to coming, I was nervous it would be a long wait because they take walk ins...but nope! Everyone is super nice and quick. You are in and out. I received my Rapid results in like 5 minutes. I emailed them asking for my PCR results and received them in 2-3 days. Never had to wait an entire week! We are in a pandemic, and they are definitely trying their best to fulfill everyone's needs. I recommend coming here if you want to get tested! Honestly ridiculous that they are charging ppl $160 for a COVID-19 rapid test. Especially as a healthcare worker who was notified of a coworker testing positive. I mean at that point it would just drive the person to say screw it and continue working whether they were positive or not. But here we are with at risk ppl at home and having to pay this absurd price just to keep them safe and a peace of mind. Don't recommend this facility at all. Came here for a COVID test. Firstly- the workers are so slow and unorganized. Such simple tasks. For one, they have people cutting the lines left and right and the workers don't say anything. no social distancing going on. $100 for a covid rapid test. Workers are incompetent. Hi. Today is Monday december 27th 2021. My wife went there today for a rapid test as she was exposed, she got there at 9,30 am she is still there at 6 pm,on line. She did the paper work before she went there.Still waited for 8 hours before they took her form. Out in freeezing rain .No direction. One nasty lady up front working there. This is a disgrace. Don't go to this place for COVID test. They sell you the test like they are selling fast food. They told me 2 to 3 days for results is now a week and I don't have anything. The office manager told me they are giving priority to the rapid test, insurance don't cover rapid test you must pay them cash! By the way forget about calling them!!! Unfortunately this is one of the only places in the area that was providing rapid tests in the area earlier in the year. I took an at home Covid test and was positive , but my job required I have test results from a doctor. In JANARY 2022 I waited on line outside for an hour which I understand. Everyone is short staffed. Luckily i was smart enough to wait after in my car for the email I was told I would get with my rapid results. After two hours of waiting I went inside again and was told they lost my test sample and had to retest me. I remained understanding because I could see how difficult the doctors were making it for the nurses by repeatedly changing the process while there was a waiting room full of people. Now today , almost a full year later I get a bill for $325 - $225 for a new patient visit (I've been here before) and $100 for the Covid test. I have insurance. They took my insurance and I just payed the deductible. I called the number on the bill and was told I would get a call back. Aren't Covid tests covered ?!? Is this a scam ? Last year also I got a bill for $50 saying my visit was $200 and insurance only covered $150. But my explaination of benefits said the office had submit $150 claim and $150 was covered. I have never gotten bills like this for doctor visits for something that should be covered. I guess because of where it is located they assume that for every person that disputes questionable charges there's probably a few that just pay it not realizing. read more

I came here on a whim for a rapid test and flu shot after a Walgreens I go to weekly had no record of the appointment I scheduled and what's more refused to test me (I was the only one in the drive thru). The line is long, yes. However, these ladies try to get everyone signed in as quickly and efficiently as possible. I was able to get my COVID test, flu shot and results all within five minutes at the drive thru after a small wait. For a high volume place, I think they are professional, organized, courteous and do their best to move things along. read more

The Urgent Care in Garfield is very slow. Corrine and Talia are nasty and very unorganized and very slow. It took the 2 of them 45 mins to enter in a patient into the system. While the patient is at the window Corrine gets up and counts the # of patients in the waiting area. It took Corrine 15 mins to count that there was 10 people in the waiting area. read more

Recently, I was feeling pain on the left side of my torso. As the day progressed, it was getting worse. I had called my doctor near me, he couldn't see me for three days. I called another doctor friend who does not live near me, and he made a diagnosis over the phone that either a pulled muscle, pinched nerve, or a problem with my pancreas. After hearing that I really became worried. My wife suggested that I call MY DOC Jersey Urgent Care, who her friend uses for her whole family, and said they are fantastic. As the pain became unbearable I became frightened and I was panicking. I called and spoke to the director a Ms. Julie Marino and explained my problem. She suggested that I do a TELEMED with their doctor. I was hesitant to go to the ER in Manhattan which is very close to me but didn't go due to Covid-19. I would've love to go to My Doc Urgent Care because of all the good things we heard about them, but our car is not in the city. A Dr. Luis Alvarez called right back with a TELEMED office visit. Dr. Luis asked me all about my symptoms, where the pain was, the duration of the pain, my age, medical history etc. He was kind, compassionate, patient, friendly and extremely knowledgable. to my surprise, he said "it sounds like you have shingles". He asked me do I have any marks on my torso?, my wife looked on my back and low and behold, there they were!! I then made an appointment with my doctor who I originally called, but had to suffer three more days. I did have shingles. I just wish I could've seen Dr. Luis immediately in his urgent care facility because I would've been treated the same day, and had the correct diagnosis from the beginning. As a visitor from San Diego with a terrible flu, I arrived first thing in the morning to the clinic. 26 degrees shivering with a fever was not fun! The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. I didn't wait long to be seen. The nurse took my vitals and was very nice. I was seen by the doctor right away. Turns out I had bronchitis and the flu. The doctor, knowing I was out of network, did not do an X-ray out of consideration for the extra cost. He sent a prescription to Walmart and I was on the road to recovery within an hour. I would highly recommend this clinic. It's spotless, well maintained and the staff is very kind. read more

Great, quick service. The staff gave me a flu test which was negative. I immediately saw the doctor and he diagnosed me right away. He prescribed my medicine and gave me tips on how to get better quickly. I got a doctor's note for work and was out of there within 30 minutes. I have been going here for a while and have never waited longer than 15 minutes to see a doctor, which never happens at my family doctor during flu season. Highly recommended. read more

They charge you $200 for a COVID test. When the STATE pays for it which confused me. How are you charging patents when the STATE pays for the tests? I usually try to give people the benefit of the doubt... But I've visited this urgent care twice for a knee issue the first time I went I didn't get a doctor I got a nurse practitioner which is fine, but the person didn't even examine me check my knee she just asked me what the pain was and she prescribed me A steroid that I had to take for six days and it didn't help at all. Two weeks later I started to get this excruciating pain and I spoke with the doctor he examined me and he took an x-ray he told me that it look like I had some mild arthritis which is fine but his recommendation was to put ice on my knee. Really!!! I said Doc I'm paying you $125 and that is your diagnosis that I put ice on my knee? So then he says I'm going to prescribe you something to help you with the pain something strong. Well, it turns out that what he prescribed me was over-the-counter Tylenol for arthritis. This place is a joke! I can't speak for other Urgent Care's but this place was truly a waste of my time and a waste of my money! read more

If I could rate zero stars I would. This is a completely corrupt facility that should be shut down. $100-$200 for each rapid COVID test? COVID tests are supposed to be free to all Americans. They want to talk to me about some nonsense third party doing the testing that's why they have to charge but MY DOC is the one who took my payment. I asked for an itemized bill so that I can submit it to my insurance for reimbursement because I KNOW my insurance covers it. And I was told no sorry that's what that piece of paper is that you just signed. We are unable to provide you an itemized receipt. As soon as that was said I knew this was BS. Do I look like an idiot? I obviously stayed and went through because I needed to be tested ASAP to be able to return to work but also THEY DID NOT TAKE ANYONES TEMPERATURE NOR DID ANYONE HAVE TO FILL OUT ANY COVID QUESTIONNAIRE, NO THEY DO NOT PUT YOU IN A SEPARATE ROOM. ONLY TIME THEY TALK TO YOU IS TO OBTAIN YOUR CC INFO AND LICENSE. OH and it took me a total of 6 hours. 3 hours to get my rapid testing results lmao. I'm reading a lot of these responses from the "manager" and omg it sounds like a 16 year old girl who's never worked a day in her life. Such immature and unprofessional responses.
