We miss Pharmaca a lot! They offered so many more choices and so many more different kinds of items. We need less corporate shops in Boulder again!!! read more

The pharmacy in North Boulder is a miserable place. I have never been so poorly treated in any retail situation. I used the auto renew function, went to pick up my prescription and was told the system doesn't work. I was at my physician's office when she called in my prescription the pharmacy employee told me they never received the call. During the summer I was treated extremely rudely and asked to speak to a manager...I was told non was available, I then asked for their name and the employee refused to give the managers name or a phone number. I should have left then. My health is too important to trust these clowns. Shame on me for still being a customer. Not for long!!!! read more

I am a big fan of the South Boulder (Table Mesa Shopping Center) store, but when in this center for other purposes, I will occasionally stop in. It is larger though with many more products but rarely do I need something that Table Mesa does not have. I have never used the P.O. here either. I have easy access to a genuine USPS. Also, I do not use either location for Rx as my medical care facility has it's own and its insurance pricing for prescription meds is included. In this case, I was all out at home on Tom's of ME floss and so was the adjacent Whole Foods so I stopped in and found it on sale here for 25% off! Bought several! I do prefer Table Mesa though as it is less crowded physically and with shoppers. There is proportionately more staff who seem to have less issues to arise that slow service. And it is simply a place I am more often. Nice that we have both of these choices as well as one downtown (east end Pearl.) read more

This is my favorite Pharmaca location in all of Boulder. If I need something I'll typically head to this location as I've found the customer service to be top notch. On this recent visit I was dropping in to check out holiday gifts/cards as well as to snag a cup of tea (they offer free hot tea in the back right corner of the store, and frequently have several types of tea to choose from). Unfortunately on this day the water bubbler ran empty. At the check-out counter I went for the Yelp check-in offer (.01 for 11 oz Coco Libre Coconut Water) however the staff were unfamiliar with it and the code provided/stated did not work for our friendly cashier. Another staffer came up to help and I'm not sure if she was having a bad day but she seemed terribly irritated that we were trying to use the check-in offer. In the end we were able to get the offer which was great. If you are a fan of their store as I am I highly recommend sighing up for their free membership. I get great emails about upcoming sales and events as well as earn credit towards future purchases. Not to mention I've received a voucher for a free lotion/shampoo/soap during my bday month this year and last year, woo hoo. read more

I used to get my prescriptions filled at the Pharmaca on Pearl Street. The Pearl Street location closed on 10/31/20 after being there over a century! So sad... I will not waste any more time or energy on this North Boulder store...except to say, stay away from this pharmacy if you value time and want to be treated kindly. read more

Too bad pharmaca turned into this disaster. The pharmacist was rude and they just don't answer their phone.

I wish there was a "zero stars". I am a long-time customer of Pharmaca. After months of being patient with the process of change of ownership, I am leaving this pharmacy. We, again, did not receive the promised auto-renewal, nor reminder. When I realized and tried to have the prescription refilled quickly, they said sorry, next week. There was no attempt to in any way rectify the mistake. Even worse, ZERO concern. While the pharmacists may not be responsible for the glitches in the system, have they entirely forgotten they are in the business of mental and physical wellbeing? On top of that, it is fairly impossible to get through to an actual pharmacist there. The calls are answered (after a long hold) by an answering service who is "alleviating the workload of the pharmacy" and who the puts you on a second long hold to call the pharmacy for you, to ask your question for you. read more

Pharmaca was great & Medly has screwed everything up. None of the systems work, e.g., I got a text from Medly saying a medication needed to be refilled & pressed the number to get that done. It wasn't filled & Medly told me that this text system isn't working. This is a medication I need to take daily and, if they don't fill it in a timely manner, it could be dangerous to me. None of the 'systems' are working. It's impossible to get through to one of Pharmaca's great pharmacists. All Medly seems to care about is its bottom line. Pharmaca's pharmacists have taken such good care of me over the years, but I'm almost at my breaking point. Medly is misleading and defrauding Pharmaca customers, and endangering our health and lives. What a total clusterf**k! read more

I miss Pharmaca in Denver. Used to be in LODO, but whenever I am in Boulder, I like to stop here and check out their stuff. My doctor is also in Boulder so I usually get prescriptions filled here if I need them. There are plenty of fun things to find here besides medicines and herbs. Totally friendly people who are always willing to help. This used to be a small local pharmacy with a postal service area in back. This Pharmaca still has the little postal service area in back. My most favorite part of this store is that they allow dogs and have healthy treats for them too! read more

This historic pharmacy has been a trusted neighbor for many decades....NO MORE! We tried to contact the pharmacy for a refill for over 1 month, calling at different times. We got through twice and were promised call backs...NEVER HAPPENED! We contacted the online site and were promised a corporate rep for Colorado would call, again NOTHING! This constitute not only negligence in my opinion but also malpractice! Since the merger this pharmacy is worse than useless! read more

Once a year I come to Boulder from Canada, and used to love coming into the friendly atmosphere of Pharmaca. When I walked in a couple of days ago, i felt the Medly vibe as I entered. There is a real sense of disorganization to the store. Usually there are beautiful displays for a seasonal event. I saw toys piled up on a table and pjs on another. The space is now poorly arranged, with the cards crammed at the front. There used to be experienced personnel who offered great suggestions for supplements. I did not see anyone other than the two harried clerks. They chatted to each other, wrangling back and forth as they took my cash about hours and who would work when. It was an awful experience, leaving me feel like I would have been better to go to Walmart for any needs I might have. THUMBS DOWN on this new move. read more

Wow. Third time... never again. I kept trying because I was excited about the same day delivery. Well that lasted once. Now they mail your meds... not the same. Another time they did not have my medication to fill so my dr called it into another pharmacy as it could not be transferred. Well in the mean time... medley received my medication, filled it, ran it through my insurance and did NOT notify me. I ended up going over 2 weeks without my meds due to this error. Now I called at noon today to confirm Med we're ready. I paid over the phone and had a friend come to pick up. She was met with a female at the counter who was less than pleasant and did not find my meds. Said they had nothing ready for me. I was finally able to get I touch with the pharmacist who told me that they were picked up at 1pm. After ensuring him that is false, he did more investigating to find out that they were there but showed picked up because they we're paid for. I live an hour away and it's Saturday evening 10 min before they close. I'm now going 36 hours without my medication due to Medley Pharmacy mistakes. read more

Medly is the worst pharmacy in Boulder now. They notified me one one my prescriptions could be refilled and I responded yes to fill it. Four days and five phone calls later they finally texted that they refilled it. When I got there they told me they only gave me 3 days worth because they were out and their truck wouldn't come for 2 more days. When I got home they had only given me enough for 2 days, took it back, they counted what they had then gave me more. I found out from a friend who's a nurse that it was illegal for them to take back anything that had left the store. So today, one day past when their truck was due I still didn't have my prescription. I switched pharmacies and had my prescription in 20 minutes. There's a reason why the entire Pharmaca staff quiit. I urge you do the same. read more

Genuinely, maybe the worst pharmacy in the country? Chronically disorganized and impossible to contact. Avoid at all costs

Terrible service, rude pharmacist, disgruntled workers. You can't get a prescription filled without 3 trips into the pharmacy which includes waiting in line each time for 40 mins each. Even then they don't have all of the drugs needed to fill some prescriptions. Worst pharmacy in Boulder! read more

As of June 23, Covid vaccines have to be scheduled and the earliest appointments are in mid-July.

Nice store.... carry great products. Staff are plenty available to answer questions and are usually impressively knowledgeable. Complaint: Pharmacy. In the last handful of times I've filled a prescription there and come to pick it up at the designated time... not once has it been ready on the given time! One of the times I was given the wrong strength medication. I asked how that could happen... I was told probably the person filling it had trouble reading the handwriting of the person that took my call....... shouldn't computers be used then to reduce errors? On my last visit I dropped off the transfer prescription in person at 4:30 and was told to pick-up at 5:30. I inquired, "are you sure"? Yes, I was told. I return at 5:30.... prescription hasn't even been started... "please take a seat". Then I'm called to the window "We don't have your insurance card for this"... while earlier I already answered to the same person that I do not use my insurance on this cheap medication. 10 minutes later I check out and I am asked to pay $24. for a medication that every other time costs me $12. I complain. I'm first told I must be used to larger pharmacy prices... I say no I'm talking about the price I've paid here every other time. They look into my records, confirm and adjust the price saying they are giving me "the neighborhood discount". A 50% neighborhood discount? Hmm. I ask for the actual price and only answer I get, "it fluctuates". read more

you go to an integrative pharmacy for compounded prescriptions. these are drugs made to a specific formula on site and thus not regulated by best manufacturing practices. so you would think the pharmacy would welcome feedback from consumers. not so here! i was getting my bio-identical hormones from pharmaca and figured their QC was adequate. but when i had my blood levels checked, i found to my dismay that i had no detectible level of any of the hormones i had been buying (for a significant sum) from them for years. not only did they not want to discuss QC issues, they attempted to turn the tables and blame me for not using the hormone appropriately. if you want to use bio-identical hormones (which i don't suggest anymore), be sure to push your pharmacy for QC information! read more

If I could give no stars I would. First experience with them. Never again. Ordered probiotics, website states "Pharmaca probiotics ship with an ice pack". False. I received my order without an ice pack. Paid extra for the RAW probiotics that require refrigeration in an effort to ensure they came with an ice pack. Emailed customer service, waited 2 days for a response, and Michelle from customer service told me "In light of recent temperatures, the ice pack was deemed unnecessary." Guess, what? Then a website update is needed stating that in the winter months an ice pack will not be used. They also stated that the price difference between the one that was shelf stable and the one that requires refrigeration was not the reason for the price difference. Great. Then what IS the reason for the price difference. Same exact product with same count of probiotics in the bottle. They ended up giving me a credit the 2nd time I asked for one only after I told them if one was not given I would raise a formal complaint for false advertising. Cost savings is not worth the hassle with this company, you are better off shopping someplace else. read more

I like this store, but the optics do not look good on management. I have a friend of a friend whose family member works at a Pharmaca in CO. I wouldn't risk the safety of my team to work during a blizzard. It's rather alarming that a store that purports to care about the wellbeing of people has decided to remain open so as to boost their bottom line. I mean, the registers didn't even work! I hope your employees forgive you, Pharmaca. Shame. read more

Nice local pharmacy, great products, hard to find natural and organic health items. Staff extremely rude, they barely acknowledge your presence. I have been there multiple times within the last month, each time, the cashier was busy. The last time I was there, there was not even a line, and the employee at the cash register was looking at a stack of paperwork and rolled her eyes when I had presented myself to the cash register (I did not even get a hello). Sometimes, the staff will be having a side conversation about their personal life and I have to wait till they are done talking about their weekend to ask about a product or check out (I guess their weekend plans are more important than a customer waiting in line). For the most part, I am barely acknowledged when I enter the store. Same customer service experience in pharmacy. Go for the products, not the customer service. read more

This used to be a great place when it was Pharmaca. Then Medly took over and turned it into a constant disaster. No more texts to remind me about prescription refills, and long lines at the pharmacy counter while waiting for the pharmacy techs to figure out how to fill the orders. The person trying to complete my refill had to ask several other employees about my (very common) medications because he couldn't figure out what they were. The floor assistance (for non-pharmacy items) is also a mess -- it appears that management is not conducting adequate training for employees. I finally gave up and left after searching the shelves for half an hour with no luck. It's too bad. I was always loyal to Pharmaca, but I'm moving my prescriptions elsewhere. Medly appears to be unprepared for this disaster of a transition in ownership and management, and since they're not locally owned, there is no incentive to spend tons of time in the store while waiting for them to figure out this mess. read more

I have been shopping at Pharmaca for many years and have always enjoyed the variety of health related products, natural cosmetics and supplements. My issue is with the pharmacy in the north Boulder location. I had a common prescription filled there and when I went to pick it up the price was almost 10 times the normal cost. I thought it was a mistake and when I asked they then offered to reduce it to 3 times the usual cost...but not to the actual price of that prescription at any other pharmacy. I was about to leave for a trip and was left scrambling to have my thyroid prescription called in elsewhere before leaving...CVS in Target was able to accomodate my need and charged the appropriate price. read more

I went in looking for a specific product for a newfound problem and was able to ask someone at the front counter and received the best specialized service. I am grateful the store had the exact product I was asking for, as well as other fantastic options that were suggested - definitely some I would consider coming back for if my problem persists. Then after I was done selecting all my produts, I made my way to the front counter and was able to complete my purchase with the same person that originally helped me. I enjoyed a helpful conversation as I payed and I really appreciated how personal and pleasant my interaction in the store was. Even the customers were nice, it's the best general environment. I love the store vibe, and I had a very positive experience. read more

I have always loved the store itself. However, I have had horrible experiences with the actual pharmacy. Messing up on script orders multiple times even after conversations with my doctor. Rude inpatient staff. I will not go here for the pharmacy. read more

I have finally had it with this place. As a vitamin store it's not bad, but as a pharmacy it's horrible. Every time I try to get a prescription I go back and forth 3 or 4 times. OK since I live across the street, but there are pharmacies that get it right the fist time, such as CVS. I'll stop by here to grab some chocolate or vitamin C but I'm driving over to CVS for my prescriptions. Management needs to pay attention here. read more

So these people took my insurance card (implying they were going to actually use it) then proceeded to charge me $50 total for 2 prescriptions a week apart. Later I found out I had already hit the out of pocket max for my insurance and these guys charged me anyway. They owe me $50. Don't trust them to administer your pharmacy benefits, they aren't capable of doing it. read more

being conveniently close to the sweetie's new digs makes me not worried about her ability to get naturopathic meds and such. Pharmaca has it all, including my beloved Gan Mao Ling and Rescue Remedy. I also love that it has a post office in the back, making it uber utilitarian. read more

Perhaps it's because I'm used to the (crappy) pharmacies in Michigan, but when my friend and I stopped in here during a visit to Boulder, we both decided this place was magical. Not only do they have items that you would find at a "regular" pharmacy, the place is also filled with herbs, homeopathic items, and fun beauty products. The prices are a bit higher than a more traditional location, but I'm willing to pay a premium for the luxury of having staff that are more than willing to answer my questions and engage in random discussions about the variety of delicious chocolates they have at the front of the store (we agreed that Lake Champlain are the best!). This location is in a strip mall with the Ideal Market/Whole Foods and several other stores, so if I lived in Boulder, I'd likely be coming here on a regular basis. read more

Cute pharmacy with a built in post office in the back. Note - their post office does not process international packages. I like their selection of wellness items - it's a nice juxtaposition to their standard medicines. Staff is always so friendly. read more

I love this pharmacy. Everything naturopathic and western-medicine in one place. Even when they are out of something, they hunt it down and get it to their location within 24 hours. Nice people, intelligent, communicative, responsive. Go Pharmaca! read more

I always get great service at Pharmaca and enjoy exploring all of their great products.

I am a big fan of Pharmaca. I could spend hours looking around at all the organic products from cough drops to shampoo to herbal remedies. I would be thrilled if Pharmaca would expand nation wide so I would never have to set foot in corporate box stores of CVS and Walgreen's again. Recently I was looking for vegan, cruelty-free makeup, and they happen to carry Jane Iredale cosmetics. Many of the products in this line are vegan and all makeup in the store (I was told) is cruelty-free. I was welcomed to wash my face with cleanser and then to try on as many shades of mineral powder as I wanted. The clerk helped me match colors and gave good advice as to what looked the best. Needless to say, I was happy with my purchase, and got exactly what I wanted! read more

Don't use their pharmacy. They can't count, and when they make a mistake they can't admit it. We got a prescription filled and it was exactly 10 pills undercounted. Easy mistake, no big deal. Or so you'd think. But when we called them, Ann (the woman who can't count) got defensive and said they "don't make mistakes" and that we'd need to speak to her manager in a couple days. The customer is always wrong, according to them. read more

Brand selection is great. They have Dr. hauschka and Jane Iredale makeup products. Wow! I ended up spending way too much money because they have the coolest selection of products I can find at home. Deliciously scented milled soaps, great snack selection, and an herbalist to help you figure out what herbs would be good for you. I wanted to try something different than Melatonin so she helped me pick out a new one and informed me melatonin is actually a hormone. Had no idea. Will gladly return! read more
