For a steak place, I would have expected the cook on it to be perfect. The first round was tender and cooked well to my request of medium. The second round was more well done and chewy. The mushrooms were okay. Probably wouldn't get them again.

I love this place and their speciality. The place is designed and decorated very nicely and there is a good amount of seating. Service is great. The servers and bartenders are very welcoming and friendly. The food tastes good and I especially like their brunch. For 35$ you get bottomless drinks, a starter, bread, and a main entree. It's hard to get this kinda price in the city anymore.

Awesome brunch thank you so much for the bday surprise. This place is so great!!! I created my bday. The steak and eggs are great. The drinks are great. The serve is outstanding.

It's SO, SO good at Medium Rare. It has a simple menu of bread, salad, and steak frites with an amazing sauce. For many, it is perfect. (Note that there is a vegan option of a mushroom with tomato sauce.) The service is terrific. Shout out to our server Tabitha. There are five different dessert options which are large and delicious. I would caution that you know that the restaurant in Bethesda is really loud (but great if you love the loud 80's and 90's bands) and very tight/crowded. Make sure you get a reservation because on a Saturday night the walk-ins could only sit outside under the heat lamps or vie for one of the four bar seats.

The place was ok and our server that night was not that great. The concept seems weird but for many it's a whole vibe so if its your thing go for it. The fries in my opinion could've been way better if thats gonna be one of your main dishes but the steak was good but I was not a fan of the sauce and woukd definitely ask for it on the side as a first timer. I would still recommend it to try something new and to form your own opinion

So the overall experience was about a three star, what brought me to this? What's the combination of a few things. Let's start with the ambience, it was nice, quiet, welcoming, but very very restricted of space. I really wish that they would have sat us at a bigger table that had a little bit more over, the service was great, they were very attentive and ready to suggest items as well as recommend different choices. When the food came out, it look great but some plates were hot and others cold. Unfortunately, I was the one with the cold. When I requested for my meal to be remade the server, gracefully apologize, and placed that request. When I receive my food, the second time it was still incorrect, it was overcooked plus the portions were small, but I was told that this was because it was brunch and not dinner which I guess it's understandable

If you're into bottomless mimosas for brunch with your friends you might want to give Medium Rare a try. Don't expect tacky IG worthy decor though. I opted for the Steak and Eggs with your side of fries. The brunch set also includes a choice of salad, Greek yogurt, or a fruit bowl. Screw Drivers, Mimosas, and Bloody Mary, for your non-alcoholic friends there's always orange juice. Best part yet no time limit. The staff make sure you have your drinks refilled in time when asked.

I admit that this might be a harsher review than some others as I am a huge fan of the creators of this concept (L'Entrecôte de Paris and Café de Paris - Chez Boubier (Geneva)). Medium Rare's execution of the idea is good on all fronts except the most important one - the sauce. While they may make the sauce themselves, it still tastes like it comes out of a can. It did not rock my world. The service was okay but we only saw our waiter at the beginning and the end of our meal with no check in during which was a little surprising. There are many recipes out there for sauces similar to that of L'Entrecôte and Medium Rare should think about offering their own version as an option on the menu. Just my two cents.

The only thing on the menu (steak and fries). The above item is sliced portobello mushrooms with a tomato sauce.

It definitely books up so I'd be sure to snag a reservation - walking in is nearly impossible. Even trying to grab a spot at the bar on a week night is first come first serve, and there's not much room! Something I don't love about Woodmont is you can only get a table of 4 people max, no exceptions. I wish I could have come here with my entire family, but I would have been forced to pick my favorite 3 Lol While they don't make any menu abbreviations or changes (no espresso martinis :( oh well) - the crush with pressed grapes and mint is my absolute favorite. You have to start with some sushi - the Osaka style pressed roll is the best, but I've also enjoyed the spicy tuna roll and the tuna mango roll. I would say my favorite item on the entire menu is a sleeper pick - the kale rotisserie chicken salad is to die for. I would lick the plate clean - something about the roasted peanut vinaigrette and the elevated chicken!! While the fried chicken sandwich is often only available for lunch, if you can snag it you should. The French dip is the best sandwich on the menu, although the cheeseburger has caught my eye as well. If you have any room left, their soft serve with fudge pour over is the best! The service here is top notch - expect your martini to be reputed into a cold glass half way through, your drink order to be taken and ready before you even meet your server, and the crumbs to be wiped between courses. If you come for nothing else, come to be impressed by the staff!

Now, I wish they didn't get rid of their fries and loaded baked potato, not sure what their logic is behind that. It's not like potatoes are expensive. For lunch, I really like their crispy chicken sandwich and cheeseburger. The richness of the filling was outstanding. The cocktails were light and refreshing, and happy hour made everything feel even more worth it. I had some mild expectations when arriving at Barrel & Crow which were quickly met and exceeded. Our party of four enjoyed a truly delightful and delicious meal. From the moment we sat down, our server--Dan--delivered five-star service. He was genuinely friendly, attentive without hovering. His knowledge of the menu and thorough description of the dishes was also notable. Some were his favorites, so he really described them (all) with mucho gusto. It was like we were guests in his home. We basically ended up ordering literally everything he recommended and he was absolutely spot-on. We started with the fried green tomatoes and calamari. Our smorgasbord of entrées included the lamb bolognese (my favorite, though sadly not the one I ordered), a beautifully tender lamb shank, spiced shrimp and grits, and a deeply flavorful andouille and seafood gumbo. Each dish was thoughtful and well prepared, though the shrimp and grits were a bit savorier than I'm accustomed to. Dessert didn't disappoint either. We savored the chocolate torte and also their signature sweet beignets. They were the perfect ending to an already stellar meal.We left behind so many other tempting menu items and looking forward to our next visit.

Boy, does she look beautiful now!!! Last time I reviewed this restaurant, I was underwhelmed by the dining room. It was generic, dated and - my main memory - the floor was greasy and slippery. Now, the renovations show a beautiful new restaurant with high end finishes and fancy decor. Whoever redecorated this place did a fabulous job! So, I take back my old review and state very clearly that Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda is stunning, first rate and very high end looking. The food was very good. We started with escargot and mussels. The mussels were a bit bland in my opinion. Yes, there was garlic, yes, there was onion, yes there was wine but the overall flavor was just sort of mediocre. The escargot, on the other hand, were beautifully cooked, prepared and seasoned. The garlic and other seasonings turned what is really just a garden pest into delightful little bite of intense flavor. I loved them! For our main courses, 3 of us got beef. Of course, it was well prepared. The French fries were crisp, hot and lightly salted. I did not want to share them. My zero-proof drink was lovely! I had the grapefruit cooler and it was a perfect balance of tart, sweet and bubbly. This place paid a lot of attention to a non-alcoholic beverage. That says a lot to me!!! The service was not up to the beautiful appearance of the dining room. We had spotty attention and a lack of focus from our waiter. At the end of the evening, they really rushed us out. But, overall, I am impressed with what has happened at Mon Ami Gabi. Will I be back? Oh yes! Do I recommend it? Definitely!

The burger would be paired with Orin Swift red wines (4 different kinds). The waitstaff also provided a happy hour as well as regular dinner menu for those who want options. We got the Wagyu. I ordered the bleu cheese and truffle burger with the Cabernet Sauvignon. We also added the mushroom truffle arancini appetizer from the happy hour menu. Minutes after ordering we got the complimentary bread basket. It was warm and covered by a white napkin. It included crisp flatbread, 2 pieces of onion focaccia, 2 poppyseed rolls and 2 pieces of brown bread with raisins. Bread was tender on the inside and slightly chewy on the outside, very fresh. Every type was delicious. The arancini were gold ball sized (5) and topped with Parmesan sitting on a thick rich sauce. The interior had creamy risotto and black mushroom. A great starter and not too heavy. The burgers were thick patties (cooked medium) with a perfect outside char. Inside was lightly pink and very juicy. It was topped by blue cheese, truffle, Bibb lettuce, tomato and pickles, topped by a poppyseed brioche bun. Was rich and yummy, everything went well together. Fries were crisp. My companion had the mushroom Swiss burger and enjoyed. Wine was smooth, fruity and had great depth, with no bitterness. It shone almost as much as the Wagyu. Service was excellent and gracious. My other friend and I got the steak and it was also a small portion and mine had SO many chewy pieces that I had to spit out! I don't expect that at all for a $60 entree! The pieces I had tasted good but I would much rather have had a well cooked, better cut of steak. My other friend had the special pasta with truffle for $70...wow! Again, not a big portion at all and I felt so bad even trying a bite of hers (but I did...nothing special). Dinner was very disappointing as far as portions vs prices go! We ordered 3 desserts and the only one that was great was the almond cake...so good we ordered another one! Overall I was not impressed with this restaurant. There are much better authentic Italian places in the area that don't break the bank. They really should lower their prices, add more options to the menu and change their steak cut. Just my opinion I doubt I'd go here again unless I wasn't very hungry and wanted to spend a lot of $$. All of us went home and ate more since we left hungry.
