We had ordered a Calzone (with a side of chips) and the Cajun Chicken with chips, both of which came with a wee portion of coleslaw. The chicken melted in your mouth and was seasoned beautifully. The calzone was baked instead of fried and was the BEST calzone I have ever had. The chips were perfect and even the coleslaw was delicious (and I don't even like coleslaw!). We spoke to who we believe is the owner and he was very friendly and approachable and our server was a woman who could not have been better. Her service was as perfect as our meals. We highly recommend The 51st State Bar & Grill and will definitely be back next time we are in Dunoon.

We were not fans of langoustines as it was hard to eat them as a takeaway and compared to the haddock, their flavors were a little bland. Having said this, if you want fried fish and chips in Mallaig, The Cabin is the place to come to!

There is usually a specials board where you can buy a two course meal for £5.95 or in the summer £9.95 but none of the specials where fish as l expected that it would have.
