Convenient location in Carlisle. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for more.

The consistency of problems at this location is beyond me. Im surprised the store hasn't shut down…read moredue to all the issues to regroup and figure out what they need to do to be better. The shelves are typically bare or completely destroyed. They wait times in the pharmacy and front counter are super long. I come in to get my prescription and i walk to the back towards the pharmacy and the doors are down and the lights are off. I go to check the sign and it states that for some reason only today due to staff shortage that they will only be open from 1-6. You call walgreens they state theyre open regular hours. You check online regular hours. Not only due are they only open 6 hours but theyre going to still have their "lunch" at 130. So your going to open/at work for 30 minutes and then close then just close the doors again. They have signage up front that is hardly viewable to customers almost like its hidden. The only reason i even come here is for my prescriptions but if another pharmacy opened up id gladly take my business over there. No good things to say about this locations. It would be fine if this was the only problem thats occurred here but it hasnt. If you have the opportunity to go elsewhere i would recommend it.

Worst Walgreens experience in my life. I came to Walgreens the evening of February 4th, 2025 to…read morepurchase some pain medication. I am a US veteran. While there, I thought I would use the men's room but found the doors locked with a keypad preventing access. I came to the front of the store and set my medication down, and told them I was intending to purchase it but I wanted to use the restroom first. To which I was told they don't open restrooms for customers. I asked him why that was and I was told that because some time ago a female had left feces on the floor in the ladies room, the manager has decided to close the restrooms off to customers. I assured them I would not do that, nor would I use the ladies room. I also asked them if they were not to be considered public restrooms then why was there a restroom sign on the back wall outside them?? Regardless, I was denied access and was told no customers can use the restrooms... Ever.. Not that it matters but for identification purposes, there were three employees at the register that I spoke with and the one doing most of the talking was a young African American female and she was not friendly... At all! I felt like I was being discriminated against either by the color of my skin, or because I was a US veteran. The store is not veteran friendly or customer friendly. I highly discourage anyone from coming here and I never will again!

In Ames, I notice the Hy-Vee brand in several places. There are 2 grocery stores at opposite ends…read moreof the Lincoln Highway, and associated Liquor Stores and Gasoline Stations. There's also this Drug Store, which looks to be part of a yet-to-be realized development initiative at and around the old Train Station. Gayle was at a Salon at the Train Station getting her nails done. After all, my fabulous wife must mind the beauty details! However, with the Iowa humidity, she would probably go for shorter hair if we actually lived here. Since this takes time, I decided to walk down Main Street and look around. After walking around the Train Station and admiring the architecture (and the safety fence near the tracks), I first wandered into Hy-Vee Drugstore and for some air conditioned relief. This place is a lot larger than it looks from the outside. They have a nice selection of the usual stuff, plus gifts and wine/beer. I ended up buying a padded wine holder to later (and successfully) take back a bottle of Templeton Rye Whiskey back to Iowa. I'll probably be back the next time I'm in town for any travel-related supplies or to just kill a little time.

I get my prescriptions at Hy-Vee Drugtown. I like that the lines are shorter here. I am sensitive…read moreto medication changes and they will make sure I stay on the same generic which I appreciate. I can get every vitamin here and expert help from the pharmacists on which to choose. I mean, this is not life changing but I can avoid the lines at other places and receive decent service.

I just found the drive through took forever. Definitely a busy place and not my normal pharmacy…read more There was also a line inside. My family said it's always mine it there. I gave 3 because the pharmacy tech that helped me was very pleasant.

I dropped off three disposable cameras to be developed. 2/3 were developed and returned in a timely fashion. The third was MIA. For TWO WEEKS I've been hammering this local store and corporate for answers as to where this camera is and absolutely NO ONE was willing to help or provide any insight. I was sent on a wild goose chase with phone number after phone number of people to contact to get answers, all of which continued to say 'I can't help you with this', 'this isn't our problem' and many other excuses alike. FINALLY, the Inventory Manager, Mary, stepped up to the plate and took the initiative and accountability to contact the third party vendor whom they use to develop film (contrary to what I'd been told the past two weeks, that no one is able to contact this vendor). Mary was the first person to finally own up to the fact that this camera, full of memories I will now NEVER SEE, has been lost somewhere between Walgreens and their developing vendor. While I appreciate that Mary took the initiative to seek out an answer, I'm sorely disappointed that it took two weeks of pestering to get anyone to move the needle. I'm not sure how any of the staff at this local Walgreens or corporate is able to maintain their job with the lack of work ethic, lack of problem solving skills and lack of simple customer service/support. I know I'd lose my job in a heartbeat if my answer to a customers question/problem was 'dunno' or 'not my problem'.
