CVS for the win!!, I…read morewas using a different pharmacy and ordered my prescription a week before I was out. They said it would be ready on the 3rd of July. I go pick it up... still out. Panic set in and I called a different pharmacy, only to be told that my insurance wouldn't cover it there. (Express Scripts-worst insurance ever) it was late, and I wasn't able to get the prescription sent anywhere else, so had to wait for the 4th of July. I called CVS on SE 14th and they had my medication in stock and they took our insurance. Win, win! So, we jump in our car, drive 26 miles and get there with minutes to spare (shortened hours because of the holiday) and then to find out the last pharmacy hadn't sent my prescription over. I made a call, and finally the prescription was faxed. The pharmacist stayed to fill my prescription and was so accommodating!! She went above and beyond to help me out! It was greatly appreciated!! Would definitely recommend CVS! While there, I was actually amazed at how nice of a store this is. A very nice selection of items and their prices were reasonable. The cashier was very helpful too, and signed us up for the rewards card and was informative about how it works. I'm glad I didn't let the low reviews scare me away because this CVS was awesome!

I went there band they had no idea then finally the pharmacist said your insurance doesn't pay for that. Never contacted me. Never asked for an alternative. Just did nothing. I stated I was aware. Poor service. Poor customer service and I guess they don't need your business.

I love this walgreens. I love the staff, I love the pharmacy staff, I love the clearance items. The…read morebiggest issue I have, is that the upfront manager, and the cashiers, have to be body guards, cops, AND "parents", as well as the jobs that they were hired to do. It is INFURIATING to see the way they are treated, by the little snots that go to the school across the street. If you are a parent, and your kid goes to that school, for the ones that HAVE taught their kids etiquette, thank you. The staff around Park Fair Mall, and the other shoppers, we thank you. For the ones that haven't, shame on you. The higher ups in the Walgreens corporate ladder, REALLY need to think of the wages you are paying these employees, then tag on more. They are doing the jobs of 5 people. And they are doing an AWESOME job. There is a time gap, of when school lets out, that the store has a shift, but ANY time, outside of that half hour/hour, they are able to do what they are needing to do. They are ALWAYS professional, ALWAYS helpful, i have NEVER seen them anything but, even when a group of the kids come in, thinking THEY are running the place. Lol, which they aren't. They have a TOP NOTCH staff.

Got text messages all weekend saying my prescription was ready (the pharmacy is closed until Monday) and then a got a text telling me the pharmacy was closed and they would advise when it reopened. Never received any text advising they were reopened but I went there straight from work today and they CLOSED AT 6PM! Tried calling another Walgreens to see if they could fill it and no luck there. I advised that I was leaving at 4:30 AM tomorrow on a trip and was told I could call my Dr's office and have them call the prescription into their location. It is 6:15 at night, the Dr's office closed at 4!!! Horrible customer service and I refuse to deal with this crap any longer. Been a loyal customer for 30+ years but no more. I am moving every single prescription I have out of their reach so hopefully I won't ever have to deal with them again!

Came to Iowa to visit - so naturally got sick! Did a video visit and had my scripts sent here…read morebecause it is near my folks house... mistake. They said they did not take GoodRX (which I guess I thought everyone did!) but for one of the scripts they told me they didn't carry it and doubted anyone did. I asked if they could transfer my script to CVS. They told me they couldn't but it I called around and found a pharmacy that had that drug to have them call and they would transfer. SO I had to go back to my mom's house, called a CVS and they said are they had that drug. Gave them Medicap number and they said they would call them right away. Get to CVS 3 hours later and they still had not received the transfer. CVS called again and finally got it. Moral of the story - don't use Medicap

There's also this Drug Store, which looks to be part of a yet-to-be realized development initiative at and around the old Train Station. Gayle was at a Salon at the Train Station getting her nails done. After all, my fabulous wife must mind the beauty details! However, with the Iowa humidity, she would probably go for shorter hair if we actually lived here. Since this takes time, I decided to walk down Main Street and look around. After walking around the Train Station and admiring the architecture (and the safety fence near the tracks), I first wandered into Hy-Vee Drugstore and for some air conditioned relief. This place is a lot larger than it looks from the outside. They have a nice selection of the usual stuff, plus gifts and wine/beer. I ended up buying a padded wine holder to later (and successfully) take back a bottle of Templeton Rye Whiskey back to Iowa. I'll probably be back the next time I'm in town for any travel-related supplies or to just kill a little time.
