My appt got canceled just few days before my appt and this office tried to send me to a practice doctor or send me really far. Worst Customer service ever! And their staff are rude too in VM! read more

Front office staff very rude and office manager has no credibility. Had an appointment for a medical issue for next day, already confirmed and they call at 5:00pm to claim "they can't keep the appointment". Most unprofessional office! Won't be back for sure! read more

I had orbital decompression and tarsorrhaphy surgery performed by Dr. Grand on November 26. Before the surgery, I asked countless questions and voiced all of my concerns. Dr. Grand repeatedly assured me that I would look better than my before pictures -- that I would look "normal." He convinced me this was the best option for me, even before trying less invasive treatments like Tepezza. When I woke up, I was told I wasn't allowed to look in the mirror -- "doctor's orders." That alone should have been a red flag. Now, six months later, I'm left looking disfigured. He stitched the corners of my eyes and altered my appearance in a way that has completely devastated me. I should have followed my instincts, but I trusted him because of how confident he sounded. Instead of looking normal, I look like a monster -- and I've been heartbroken and depressed ever since. On top of everything, there has been no follow-up care. He told me he would follow up in six weeks, but I haven't seen or heard from him since. It has been months. I've been left to deal with the aftermath on my own -- physically, emotionally, and mentally. This surgery was not right for my situation, and it was pushed on me without first exploring other options. I feel misled, abandoned, and like I've lost a piece of myself. I'm anxious to even leave my home now. No patient deserves to go through this. We deserve honesty, full disclosure of all options, and proper aftercare -- not empty promises and irreversible damage. I hope my experience encourages others to seek multiple opinions and to never ignore their instincts, even if a doctor tries to reassure you. Ask questions, do your research, and protect yourself. I wouldn't wish this outcome on anyone read more

Scheduled me with wrong person, 5 calls, 5 different answers and two scheduled appointments cancelled by staff. This really undermines confidence in a medical practice that relies on trust..no listed medical director. I never post negative reviews without checking first but there does not seem to be a senior partner or medical director read more

I want to comment on some of the office people that work at this facility. Unbeknownst to me, the ophthalmologist I had been going to for years decided to retire. When it was time for me to come in for my annual visit, the staff had taken it upon themselves to place me with another doctor. The doctor was courteous and caring, however after reading his bio and reviews on Yelp, I did not feel he was a good fit. When it was time for my next eye exam, I requested 2 other doctors whose's bio seemed more in line with what I needed. I got an appointment, but several days later an office person called me up and questioned me about my request. Having never seen me, she started diagnosing me over the phone telling me I didn't need to see the doctor I had chosen. Since when does an office staff person have the medical qualifications to diagnose a patient? I had to go over to the Retina Center in Roseville to get my medical charts, and bring them over to Medical Vision Technology for them to look at. (By the way, when I brought over the report, a front desk staff person started reading the materials.). What has happened to patient, doctor confidentiality!! Even when I came in for my eye exam, the technician who tested me started diagnosing me. What she was saying was completely off from the issues that I have. Because the doctor I did end up with was thorough and understood my issues, I've decided to give Medical Vision Tech. another chance. Still, the office staff and people who set up appointments need some serious training on what is medically appropriate behavior towards patients. read more

I am on my 3rd visit in a few months prepping for cataract surgery. I had a 8 am apt figuring 1st thing would get me in and out. It is now 9:06. I have been sitting in an exam room for over 45 minutes. This is not a good way to treat people. read more

I found the staff to be very pleasant in the office. However, I spent $3000 on Lasik cataract surgery. I was supposed to be able to see long distance with no glasses. But that did not end up being the case. I still have to wear glasses. And every time I kept telling them I can't see they keep saying it'll get better. It'll get better and it never did. read more

I had pain in my eye after being out on the golf course on a very windy day. They squeezed me in the same day that i called. The front desk staff were very polite and efficient as they worked through the line of people checking in and out of their appointments. They were even training a new receptionist at the time. The tech and Dr Tucker were very informative and professional as they treated me and they resolved my pain by removing the debris from my eye. They even squeezed me in for a follow up in a week. I am very satisfied with this office and staff. read more

I am surprised & sad to see the negative reviews. As a senior, I've been to multiple ophthalmologists & optometrists. Dr. Burke Manning, an optometrist, was exceptional! His far exceeded any prior eye exam. He was so friendly & kind. I was so impressed with his skill during the exam, ensuring that when making determinations, it would be correct. I also loved how patient he was when having to determine choice 1,2, etc. He also explained issues better than anyone ever. I am so sorry to see these reviews. I hope he will continue there as an optometrist as I definitely plan to continue with this practice. Everyone in the office was friendly & explained everything. read more

This place is terrible. First they said they left a message but I didn't get any. I try calling back to schedule my appointment. This lady asks what I need to be seen for. I say all the authorized procedures are listed on the authorization letter. she says that's not good enough. It doesn't tell her anything. Like wtf?? Waiting for 20 minutes and they finally find something 4 months out. My referral is no longer good that far out. They say I need to call the referring physician to get another referral. I'm not doing that. It was hard enough getting the first referral. I give up. read more

I started seeing once again a new eye doctor there Dr. Rojas she does not return messages every time you call the office they tell you they 2 calls ahead of you must just be their magical number or something they just hang up on you. I have been in the office and these girls are just laughing at the front desk. There are no other calls or people in line very unprofessional. I was pleased with my laser surgery. I knew I was going to need glasses for reading so I wanted progressive. I got the glasses, tried them out, and they didn't improve my reading so I had them redone. Still didn't improve on second shot so I had them redone again after the third time they still didn't work, but I wasn't going to give them a fourth chance so I said fine and left. Again, Dr. Tucker and staff did exactly what they were supposed to do and I was pleased. Just don't get your glasses there. read more

I saw Dr. Rochas who replaced Dr Warmerdam when she retired. The day I saw her she was the last person in the clinic, because it had been such a long busy day. However, it made no difference to her careful, thorough assessment of my eye situation. She diagnosed me with a condition that had a direct bearing on my general health. It lead to me being diagnosed with sleep apnea which necessitated my now using c-pap at night, ending 6 years of insomnia and other potential health complications. I now sleep all night and feel like a different person. Thankyou Dr Rochas, you have changed my life. read more

I was there on March 31 for an eye exam with Dr Warmerdam. She's very nice and thorough. I went over to the optical shop and spoke with Tracy. She was very nice. When all was said and done, my new glasses cost $500. I gave her a check for $290. She called layer and saud u needed to come back because she forgot some measurements. I called back and saud I could come back on Monday. So Friday they deposited my check. I called Monday and told her I wouldn't come in because my husband said we couldn't afford it. So now, a week and a half later, I don't have my refund. I spoke with Michelle yesterday who just chuckled and said, yea, it takes a while and they will send me a check. The refund had just been processed yesterday! They have no business processing a check until the transaction is complete! And I shouldn't have to wait all this time for them to "process" my refund! Very happy with Roseville location for cataract surgery for my mom who is 88. The front office staff have been friendly and efficient in scheduling appointments and follow ups. The technicians have been nice and very accommodating for the initial diagnosis, pre-op, and post-op appointments. Have had wonderful experiences with Kacey (sp) and Emily. Dr. Rojas is very informative on her assessment and going over the risks and expectations with the surgery. Additionally, she has a sweet way about her that clicks with my mom. read more

Would not recommend. This office apparently does not respect their client's time. I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment because I respect other people's time and sat for 35 minutes while others who arrived after me were taken back into rooms. When I inquired about the wait, the receptionist apologized to me by saying that she forgot to tell me there was a wait. When I asked about how much longer I would have to wait she could not provide me with a time other than, "it's going to be a while". I will not be coming back to Dr. Tucker's office as they obviously do not have much respect for their patients. I pay a hefty premium each month for health services and I expect to be respected. I hope that Sutter Health reviews this along with Dr. Tucker, not sure they care... read more

I was referred here for an eye infection that didn't go away after 2 months and 2 courses of antibiotics. The doctor looked at my eyes and said it's mild conjunctivitis and it will go away on its own in a few weeks. I said it was going on for 2 months already and was told, "well, if it was bacterial then the antibiotics would have gotten rid of it. So it must be viral and will go away in a week or two." I gave it a month and it still hasn't gone away. My PCP was under the impression they would do a culture or another antibiotic. Nevertheless he won't be referring to this clinic anymore. The billing system is super outdated especially for being affiliated with Sutter. Cannot pay online. Must mail check or card info. Calling to try to pay a bill over the phone puts you on hold for over an hour. Tried calling at about 4pm and was told the billing department leaves at 230. "I can see clearly now, the rain has gone!" ;-) At 63, I thought cataract surgery was two years away until I had Medicare. Wrong! I'm SO glad I met Dr. Tucker and Cindi, his wonderful assistant (love her!) Dr. Tucker is so much like me, so business like, that I wondered at first if he liked me. Then as things progressed, I really bonded with him and he's very personally invested in my eye health. Do NOT let first impressions turn you off. They are a great staff and very caring. They asked for my feedback on a few things, which is typically just "whatever", right? They actually listened to my comments and are considering making a few adjustments as a result of my feedback. I didn't complain; they asked, I was honest, and they appreciated it. Now THAT's what I call a good business model. I got the Full Monty, the ORA measurement thingy, the fancy multi-focal lenses, the Cadillac (ewww... let's make that the BMW!) of all the choices, and it was WORTH IT! Get the fancy lens, trust me on this! Literally, I CAN SEE NOW! It was like $3,200 per eye to go the Full Monty, but it was WAY WORTH IT! My hat's off to Dr. Tucker, Cindi, and the rest of the staff and surgery center folks. P.S. Schedule your surgery for 6am, NOT 10am, so you don't wait forever. Extreme perfection takes time, and I would do an early appointment for surgery, if at all possible. First day for each eye was a little foggy, but it's all downhill from there with very happy results! read more

After cataract surgery my vision went from 20/40 to 20/80! Their solution was to purchase a $1500 contact lens. Dr Tucker told me my second eye was also ready for surgery with a denseness of "3". Another doctor, in the same practice, looked at my file and said my eye was only at a "1"--not needing surgery yet. Needless to say , I'm seeking another doctor. read more

Dr. Grand at this facility was a failure. His lack of transparency and communication with me as a patient was abhorrent. In addition the surgery performed on my eyelid was not researched was not clarified to me as a patient. I was ineffective incorrect in the situation. This occurred in October 2022. Afterwards, I had to locate another physician surgeon in ophthalmology to correct his failed surgical procedure. In doing so my eyelid was corrected on June 1 at University of California Davis, Medical Center, and afterwards at the Roseville clinic. My surgery was conducted by Dr. Lynn who is considered one of the experts in this particular arena. Her expertise and diligent work by her staff has corrected Dr. Grand's errors. This clinic is a money making machine. Medical Vision centers is not recommended whatsoever for anyone unless you want to spend a ton of money on their glasses and not be fully informed about what is absolutely required when surgical procedures are necessary. read more

My first call to them was about cataract surgery for my 80-year-old mom. I was told they would take her Medicare with no problem, and they booked out for a few months. I said let me talk to Mom and get back to you, which I did about 20 minutes later. Another person then told me that they won't take"her" Medicare. They will only take Medicare PPO, not Original Medicare. She kept telling me that they don't take her coverage. I explained that the gal earlier told me they do take her Medicare. I asked if she would confirm with someone if they take her Medicare or not. She said that she was certain that they did not. I called back a few days later and was told by yet another person that, yes, of course, they take Original Medicare. I said great! How far out are your procedures booked now? She said she couldn't tell me because she was not the surgery nurse. I said, well, are we talking 2 months or 8 months? Can you give me a ballpark? She said that we would have to come in for a cataract evaluation before they could give me any idea of the wait time. I explained that we had done that yesterday with a different cataract surgery center and found out that they were booking 8 months out. We wanted it sooner because my mom can't see. Now, If we get another cataract consultation, we have to pay out of pocket (because Medicare only pays for one a year). We need to know how far out they are booked BEFORE we pay $180 out of pocket for a consult only to find out they are booked out the same or further. She kept telling me that she didn't have that information. I could not get her to with the surgery nurse to give me a ballpark time frame. I told them that I guess we would not have her surgery through them. read more

If I could give these people a -5 stars I would do it. This place is horrible. My mother is 99,has dementia, incontinence and is confined to a wheel chair. She lives in a "care and comfort" home. To take her to the doctor takes a medical transport and a lot of coordination. She has been a Sutter patient for many years. She developed a problem with her eye. Her doctor referred us to "optomology" for an exam. Optomolgy turned out to be Medical Vision Technology. We made an appointment. When we arrived we were taken to an exam room. A technician came and wanted to do an eye test. She told me that she had to be in the exam chair. I told her I couldn't lift her and could someone help. She said no they might get hurt. So I wrestled with her for awhile and told her I couldn't do it and if there was anything else we could do. She replied "I guess we could go to the wheel chair room". They have a room set up for people confined to wheel chairs. WTF? Why did she have us wrestle when she had that? One of us could have been hurt. The fun was just starting. After we returned the put us in an exam room and told us "the doctor will be with you shortly". Shorty came and went. For the next 45 minutes we sat in a freezing cold exam room. Nobody came back to tell us about the delay or update us or see if we needed a rest room or a drink of water. There was absolutely nobody in the area. I grabbed someone walking down the hall to see if they could find out what was going on. The doctor came and took one look at her said she has a detached eyelid and referred us to Dr. Grand. No mention of being 45 minutes late. No apology either. We made an appointment with Dr. Grand When I made the appointment with Dr. Grand I was told that she needs a "field vision" test before the appointment. They made an appointment for the test on Wednesday and the appointment with Dr. Grand for Friday. They assured us the test would take 30 minutes. I scheduled the medical transport accordingly. When we arrived the said they would be with us shortly. After waiting 25 minutes they took us in. The technician said that the test was for a different surgery and the appointment was made in error. We had to wait as we missed the medical transport as they had another patient to pick up. On Friday we arrived to see Dr. Grand. Once again we were taken to an exam room, the person who took there said "the doctor will be with you shortly". And then the did the exact same thing they did on the first visit. We were put in a hot stuffy exam room. Nobody came back and nobody was in the area. My mother was getting very agitated. So like the last time I walked the hallway until I found an unfortunate young lady. I asked her if she could find out what was going on. She asked if I wanted to talk to the manager but I said no I wanted to see the doctor. The medical transport was in the way and we didn't have time for the appointment any longer. Anyway my patience with these people ran out and I decided to leave and find another doctor. The manager showed up and I lit into her. She told me to leave quietly and that's when I lost it. I let her know that if she didn't want pissed off people then don't piss people off like that. Up to 30 minutes late a quiet departure is in order. At 45 minutes with no explanation whatsoever they need a wake up call and I'm loud enough to wake the dead. Never once in all of this did they acknowledge their being late, being left unattended or anything else about their crappy service. I'm out $150 in medical transport fees, made 3 trips there, spent over 3 1/2 hours sitting there waiting much of it in a freezing cold or hot stuffy exam room and I don't know any more than when the first doctor walked in and said she has a detached eyelid. I've filed a complaint with Sutter Health and her insurance company as this is the worst experience I've ever had with any doctor. These people are dangerously short on professionalism and manners. I would tell you not to waste your time but they will do it for you. No stars. read more

Very disappointed in MVT, and Dr. Warmerdam's "new" policies. I've been a patient for many, many years, and pay to see her (an Ophthalmologist) for my checkups and prescriptions. Unfortunately, I now have to make an additional appointment with a "contact lens specialist" and pay additional monies for that service . This is ridiculous and absurd. UNETHICAL BAIT AND SWITCH! 1/11/2019 I went to Medical Vision Technology in Roseville. I picked out an eyeglass frame because of the advertised price tag on the frame $141 and the style. Went to MVS Sacramento 10-1-2020. Lets start with confusing parking; (corner of Alhambra & Q) parking had signs saying "reserved for The ? Factory". When I got into the building (700 Alhambra) I saw pictures talking about The Factory...but no directory. My directions (and receipt)only say address; I had to wander the building looking for a business name on a door. Finally found it upstairs. It gets worse: Was told they would be much better than glasses I had, due to polymer, etc. I already had a prescription (was told only a very slight change). So paid $750 just for glasses. Turns out they are only 1 gm lighter than old glasses. When I went to pick them up I waited 15-20 min, watching the only person there do paperwork and talk on phone. When he finally came out with glasses, after maybe 3 minutes, he left to take a phone call. I had told him I was in pain from a recent injury (I'm 76). I finally gave up and just walked out with the glasses. Yes, I know, Covid and all, but he should have known LIVE customers take precedence over paper work and phone. Should have gone with on-line glasses PS why does it say I live in San Francisco? I'm Sacramento read more

I've now been seeing Dr Warmerdam for five years. Everything is unchanged from my previous review in 2016. Dr Warmerdam and her staff are AA++. I went to this office and made an appointment to have a comprehensive eye exam, wich usually includes dilation. I came to see Dr Tucker. This was my first time in this office. The technician asked me why I am there, i told her for an exam and glaucoma test. She asked me why somebody referred me? I said no, I just did not have an eye exam for more than 2 years. Why would they even ask? I do not need a referral for eye exam. I am over 60, I supposed to have one with dilation yearly or every other year. I found the questioning odd. Than Dr Tucker decided that he will not dilate my eyes. So, I did not get the exam i went for. I have to wait another year because of the insurance. I am unhappy with the service I received or did not receive. I will not go back to this office nor to Dr Tucker. Summary, i did not receive the level of care I deserve. read more

The worst eye center I have ever experienced. When having cataract surgery, you need to find a qualified surgeon you can trust and communicate well with. Dr. Tucker is arrogant, condescending, and dismissive and gets annoyed easily when you ask basic questions or need further explanation. Dr Tucker performed cataract surgery and my vision is now severely distorted. I am consulting with another cataract surgeon and may need to have the cataract surgery repeated to repair the lens that was placed in my eye. Additionally eye tech (Cindy) is rude, unprofessional and has no concern for your time. She will bore you with incessant chatter about her personal life and her ridiculous reasons for being late to your appointment and if you show her no interest she translates that to being rude. Heed the warning of the other reviewers. I should have. Now I deeply regret going to Medical Vision Technology and having Dr. Tucker perform the cataract surgery. read more
