My friend had bleeding in her eye and was seen quickly and received top notch care. The Doctor was very good at explaining which is great.

Was here for an appt the other day and felt very unwelcome and uncared for. The nursing staff in particular would not acknowledge me and spent many minutes chatting amongst each other, completely ignoring me while I waited in line to be checked in. It felt like a very unfriendly environment and I will be avoiding this establishment in the future. I hope the nursing staff and supervisor (who I heard repeatedly making comments about me) all can use this as improvement for future patients. If you are a patient here, good luck.. read more

Dr. Teelander is very positive, knowledgeable and answers all my questions every time. It is nice to be able to have a partner in my ongoing care and monitoring of my condition. He also stays up to date on the research. The receptionists and billing coordinator are friendly. However consistently with the Roseville office the technicians doing the tests are cold, impersonal, not clear/or don't offer instructions for the tests. Today the first tech made no eye contact and the entire time had her back to me typing on her computer. The second tech rushed me through a test and couldn't take the time to guide me to the next of 3 waiting areas. I waited to write this review after multiple visits knowing some folks have bad days. But this seems to be a culture in that tech team that is really not friendly, warm or caring. When you need an injection in your eye, Dr Chang was efficient, painless and she had great bedside communication

Dr. S. Patel has been more helpful to my "unknown autoimmune" that had caused some crazy things to happen with my eyes. I was so scared I would be blind forever, & to top it most my Doctors didn't know what to say, they had no facts. I my husband has been going to retinal consultants on East Roseville Parkway for over a year now after diagnosed macular degeneration and then a macular hole just told him to surgery but thank goodness after his knee replacement we went back for an appointment and Dr. Patel said look called another doctor and show him how the hole was actually closing up it was great news to hear. We never wait long in the waitingRoom and then he has to be seen by several different girls before the doctor doctor come in. They are great in office, very friendly and have nothing but good things to say about them he was going for shots and I will see if he needs more. If you need a retinal specialist definitely I recommend them 110% percent. read more

I had a blood vessel growing in my eye creating blurry vision. I was sent to Retinal Consultants from Kaiser and I am so grateful. When I first found out about my eye problem I was scared and the thought of an injection in my eye was even more terrifying than just a visit. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and cared. It was so nice to have a Dr and medical office that actually cared and took time to help. Dr. Medina and his staff are the best. My first appointment was in January and over the 8 months I was able to get over my fear of the injection and it was all thanks to their care. If you have to get eye injection or any eye procedure I would definitely recommend going here. I now have to return to kaiser for my future appointments and I am so sad. Saw Sarju Patel, MD at Retinal consultants for macular edema. Apart from giving false treatment, he couldn't have been much worse. He wouldn't stop moving to answer my questions and started talking a mile a minute while he's telling me to look this way and that way. I told him, "slow down!" Then he started walking out while only addressing one of the questions I had (which was about what was causing my eyelid to droop) & was gone before I could ask the other question (which was about why do I have a dull ache behind my eye). Neither question was insignificant. Furthermore he changed my Rx & asked for a follow-up without explaining at all what the reasons were or what the progression was. read more

I'm surprised to see a negative review of Dr. Sarju Patel. I found him friendly, communicative, and patient in answering questions and explaining medical terms. When I lived in the Bay Area, I had one of the top retinal specialists in the country (Dr. Mark Wieland) advise me *never* to let anyone operate on my eyes, because there was no "fix" for my dry macular degeneration. When my insurance changed I had to go to two different specialists who wanted to rush me to the hospital for surgery. But when I first saw Dr. Patel and he gave me his impression of my condition, I asked if there was any possibility of surgery helping. He said categorically that there was no surgical fix possible, and gave me the same advice on how to manage my condition as Dr. Wieland did. read more

I had my appointment last Wednesday. I waited about a 1/2 hour or so past my appointment time which was about on par for Dr's offices in general. I was seated with a med tech who started to have me read a chart test with both eyes which was self explanatory but then she went straight into wanting to put eye drops into my eyes without explanation. When I asked, she said they were to diolate my eyes. I haven't seen a Dr yet but they wanted to diolate me. I asked why are we diolating my eyes? She asked me if I knew what I was here for. I said yes I do. She said the Dr needed to have this done so she could have a better look at what's going on. Then she moved me into another room to watch a video about an injection which left me feeling very uneasy. I watched a 2 minute video about an injection of something into the blood stream that is supposed to light up my blood vessels but with a laundry list of potential health side effects that could happen. Another tech pulled me into a room just before it ended and asked me if I had any question on the video before we inject you. I asked so this could make me sick? She said yes but it rarely happens which didn't make me feel good about it. I said I'll pass until I see the Dr about it. She got irritated with me and said again this rarely happens and threatened that I wouldn't be able to talk to the Dr unless I comply and that this problem I have is only going to get worse. Not sure if she even knew what my problem was since I hadn't been to that office before. This was some kind of fear tactic with borderline harassment. I paid my copay so I could consult with the Dr but was denied because I felt uneasy about taking something I wasn't sure of. She left the room and told me to go back to the front desk. I was very disappointed. I rescheduled for another appointment at another office but I think I'll just cancel that. There's no personal care given here. Maybe the Drs are better if you can get past the callous minions that know nothing about you and are just told to do these things to the patients as part of a initial protocol. I don't like it. Ultimately, I paid money to have my eyes diolated and be harassed by a med tech. read more

I have been going to the roseville office for a year and a half. I find some of the staff to be not trained well. I was there on 9-28-20 and unfortunately experienced this once again. I go there for eye shots, and prior to having the shot there is a person preparing your eye. This person did a terrible job of preparation, and I know the difference because i have been going here for one and a half years. I have experienced this once before at this office and told the doctor about it, but he quickly came to the defense of his staff, so I decided to review this on yelp. Having eye problems that requires shots puts that person in a vulnerable position, you are preparing mentally for the shot and than to have a staff member be undertrained or just learning or maybe not caring that they are doing an inferior job is really distressing for a patient. The average person goes to whatever doctors you are referred to, i think it's time for me to explore retinal specialist, in the meantime I wanted to let people know that beside mentally preparing for the eye shot, prepare for a poor staff member and hope you get a good one. read more

Although happy that my mom is getting a much needed eye treatment this place is SLOW as molasses. If you are a driver for a patient, plan on it being at least two hours before your patient is even taken in for treatment. They are understaffed with doctors but supposedly are getting more. They do have plenty of rude female staff though that seem happy to make feel inferior to them. Overall, not happy with the customer service when thousands of dollars are being spent. read more
