Even during the craziest days of summer, they will try to get a tech here if there is a problem. It helps that the folks on the phone are often named Crane (Thanks Ken and Sandy), but the work ethic and customer centricity flows throughout the organization (thanks Jose!!)

The unit did not work properly and in August, Crane replaced it with another unit - different manufacturer. Over the years we have had problems with the second unit. The freezer drawer was always frosting up and Crane always sent someone out to try to fix it. Early this summer it was worse than ever and I called Crane Service but was told I was no longer under warrantee. I assumed that since we did not get the replacement refrigerator until August that our warrantee ran to August. The reservice representative and her supervisor both said that was not the case. After posting a review explaining what had happened, Brenden called me and said we were still under warrantee and the service person would come out. They came out twice and ended up replacing the cooling component for the freezer. Two weeks later, I opened the freezer in the morning and everything was defrosted. I called Crane service and texted Brendan. After two hours I called Brendan and explained the freezer was not working again. We went to the Vineyard Haven shop to see if they had anything in stock that would fit in our space (our house is 160 years old). They did and it was delivered this afternoon and all we had to pay for was a new 5 year warrantee. This is a great example of REAL customer service from a family-owned company that cares about its customers and reputation. Thank you, Brendan, and don't take this the wrong way, but I hope I do not have to call you again!

You can both get a $5 mug here and an expensive Le Creuset French Oven here, with everything in between. The selection includes a lot of white dishware, Le Creuset cooking items, lobster-themed dishes and serverware, a huge selection of coffee mugs with very reasonable price tags on them, cooking utensils, kitchen appliances, napkins, tablecloths, you name it! The one (major) drawback to this store is that they are NOT WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE and have a large front step, as well as a tall flight of stairs inside. It would be nice if they put a doorbell by their entrance so that someone in a wheelchair requiring assistance could let the people at the register know to come to the front door. Even nicer would be if they got an inexpensive, foldable metal ramp off of Amazon to put out in order to accommodate their wheelchair-using would-be customers. However, they WILL help someone out at the front door if they notice you there. I give them a little more leeway than I would for a business off-island, because on Martha's Vineyard, there just aren't a lot of options for well-stocked, affordable kitchenware stores. There's not much else to say, other than the usual Martha's Vineyard caveat: call ahead to double-check their hours, especially in the off-season. This is an excellent store, and I recommend it to anyone looking for kitchenware or a little island kitsch on the Vineyard!

    Wow! What a selection of gourmet olive oils, balsamic vinegars, specialty opocorn and related…read moreitems! All the stuff you don't really need but really want! Fantastic friendly and helpful staff. We loaded up on gourmet popcorn and seasonings, olive oils and vinegars, plus a serving tray, popcorn bucket, wine tote and god knows what else. Had to go back to the car to store it because it was too much to carry around. The upstairs section lets you taste maybe a hundred different types of oils and vinegars. They have serving suggestions and select recipes for the current season. They ahve things to serve them in (although the bottles themselves look very nice). Downstairs are the other kitchen items with special seasonings for everything you might want to serve, special things to serve them on, etc. etc. etc. We bought a popcorn bowl with a grate in the bottom for the uncooked kernels to fall through. We've used it several time in the first week home and it really works. The popcorn itself is delicious and the seasonings we bought for it make it even more so! I'm going to visit this store, and its sister store across the street, every time I'm in Vineyard Haven.

    We purchased an Electrolux washer/dryer tower from Kam Appliance about a year ago solely because of…read moretheir supposed reputation for customer service and warranty support. learn from our mistake and run the other direction. From early on, this unit has had serious, ongoing issues, most notably an extreme and abnormal lint problem. The lint buildup is so excessive that unless I go to unreasonable lengths to clean the dryer after virtually every load, it becomes unmanageable. This is not normal operation. It is not acceptable. Before Christmas, I sent Kam Appliance a very explicit, very detailed email describing the lint issue again, supported by numerous photos and videos, and also documented that the unit shakes the entire house during operation. I followed up and was told parts had been ordered and that someone would reach out when they arrived. After about a month and a half of waiting, someone was finally scheduled to come out. The confirmation text conveniently included an order summary showing three parts that had absolutely nothing to do with the lint problem. When I called Kam to ask how this could possibly be correct, I was told there was "nothing in the notes" about a lint issue and that the visit was only meant to address a "noise" issue. The technician still came out and was helpful as he could be, but did not have the parts to fix the problem. I then contacted Kam Appliance again asking for an explanation as to how such a blatant failure in communication and record-keeping could occur when my complaints were detailed, repeated, and documented with evidence. I have received no response whatsoever. Completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing.
