The selection includes a lot of white dishware, Le Creuset cooking items, lobster-themed dishes and serverware, a huge selection of coffee mugs with very reasonable price tags on them, cooking utensils, kitchen appliances, napkins, tablecloths, you name it! The one (major) drawback to this store is that they are NOT WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE and have a large front step, as well as a tall flight of stairs inside. It would be nice if they put a doorbell by their entrance so that someone in a wheelchair requiring assistance could let the people at the register know to come to the front door. Even nicer would be if they got an inexpensive, foldable metal ramp off of Amazon to put out in order to accommodate their wheelchair-using would-be customers. However, they WILL help someone out at the front door if they notice you there. I give them a little more leeway than I would for a business off-island, because on Martha's Vineyard, there just aren't a lot of options for well-stocked, affordable kitchenware stores. There's not much else to say, other than the usual Martha's Vineyard caveat: call ahead to double-check their hours, especially in the off-season. This is an excellent store, and I recommend it to anyone looking for kitchenware or a little island kitsch on the Vineyard!

Open year round, this small, rather musty hardware store will remind you of the ones you visited as a child. They have just about everything, from lunch boxes to place mats to nails and electric fans. Shovels, batteries, flash lights and paints are all here, with seasonal things like Christmas lights making an appearance when called for. During their birthday week in February, we all get a nice discount. Even if you did not know about it, they offer it to you. This is the way a business should be run. Prices are decent for the Vineyard. And the customer service is wonderful.

Fantastic friendly and helpful staff. We loaded up on gourmet popcorn and seasonings, olive oils and vinegars, plus a serving tray, popcorn bucket, wine tote and god knows what else. Had to go back to the car to store it because it was too much to carry around. The upstairs section lets you taste maybe a hundred different types of oils and vinegars. They have serving suggestions and select recipes for the current season. They ahve things to serve them in (although the bottles themselves look very nice). Downstairs are the other kitchen items with special seasonings for everything you might want to serve, special things to serve them on, etc. etc. etc. We bought a popcorn bowl with a grate in the bottom for the uncooked kernels to fall through. We've used it several time in the first week home and it really works. The popcorn itself is delicious and the seasonings we bought for it make it even more so! I'm going to visit this store, and its sister store across the street, every time I'm in Vineyard Haven.

I have brought my push mower to Jim twice- once last year and once this year. This most recent time…read moreI brought it in because my mower was surging. I brought my mower to Jim because I didn't know of any other mechanics and I didn't care enough to look any up. Though conveniently placed in Tisbury and capable of fixing my equipment, I do not plan on using Jim's services again. He charged me $150 to clean the carburetor, which is too much. Cleaning a push mower carburetor is one hour's worth of work for someone skilled -- and I didn't know any better at the time -- but it should've costed 80 bucks at most and even that is expensive. I was a sucker and Jim played me. I brought the mower in Friday and Jim had it ready on Wednesday. The mower surged slightly when he gave it back but he said if I used premium gas that would go away. I haven't used the mower since I got it back so I do not know yet if it's all fixed up.
