Took me a while to review but I have to say, Lester and his people were just awesome. We got 3 quotes for a whole house generator. One was ridiculously expensive and one wasn't coming for a quote for 2 months! The sales man from CCIP came within a week or so. My husband did his due diligence and found that Kohler was the manufacturer of choice. CCIP gave us a competitive quote and we signed with them. The install was timely and done superbly. We had one minor glitch with a rather rude plumbing inspector, which in no way had anything to do with this company. We highly recommend Lester and crew! Where do I start? We hired Cape Cod Independent Power in November of 2021. It took the gas company 15 weeks, due to the number of customers looking to get gas lines hooked up to run the line into our house. We finally got our line run to the house on 1/24/22. A note for the gas company, you need to deal with Ellen Whelan, as she is so helpful and she will do everything in her power to help you. CCIP came out on Thursday 1/27/22 and had the gas fitters and electricians do their part and then I called the gas company to place the meter so the final work could be completed. The gas company placed the meter Friday and the electricians came out and finished their work and Nick, the owner of CCIP came out Friday night at 6:30 PM to start the generator and we were good to go. This all happened last week the night before the "Cyclone Bomb" storm we all dealt with on Cape Cod. We lost power at 8:00 AM Saturday and it didn't return until Sunday at 2:00 AM. So, if we didn't have the tremendous work effort of CCIP we would have either froze or would have had to find a hotel for the night, which given the fact that all the electrical companies had already booked all the rooms in the area, we would've been SOL. So, if you are considering a generator for your house, please look into CCIP as they are the BEST on Cape Cod and they will treat you right. We heard CCIP's ad on WFCC FM just by chance. So we added CCIP to the list of stand-by generator companies I spoke with. The CCIP owner (Nick) came out and made a persuasive, low-pressure presentation on Kohler options, answering all the questions we had. He helped us locate the generator and gave an reasonable estimate of the extra cost of putting it where we wanted it (behind the garage and away from our bedroom and living room). Even though it was just before Christmas, CCIP had the generator installed, inspected, and up and running by the first week of January 2024 (it went into service on a Friday and there was an Eversource outage on Saturday -- the whole-house generator came on like clockwork). The crew were all good humored and polite, did the work without prolonged outage, and buttoned up the trench as soon as the Falmouth Town Inspector gave his approval. The office staff (Julie) was very responsive and helpful. A good, a very good experience altogether. This is a good company: We got Kohler's 10-year warranty and CCIP maintenance/service plan. The unit has kicked on whenever we lose power, until today, during the 3rd Nor'easter. After a call for service, the tech arrived within 45 minutes, during the blizzard. I can't endorse CCIP strongly enough. I purchased a Koehler standyby generator in 2015. I was fully taken with Lester's experience and knowledge with the product during his sales visit. The install went fine, and when I complained that a bush had been slightly 'injured,' during the install, Lester quickly and easily asked me to purchase a replacement of my choice on his nickel. The generator has worked perfectly, firing up whenever the power goes (which is increasingly frequent). The unit powers my entire home. Last winter, we were headed to the airport, when a storm hit, knocking out power in freezing temps. I was so relieved to head out, know my pipes wouldn't freeze even during my absence. I contacted this business & left a message on their answering machine. When I did not get a call back, I called again and talked to the owner. He said he had my info at the office and would call me. He did not. I called again and he said he would send someone out to service my generator. The fellow he sent did not have a clue what he was doing. He spent an entire afternoon and accomplished nothing. He said he needed to see the electrical schematic. I showed it to him and he said he didn't want it. Then he said he needed to get some parts and would return the next day. He never did. I talked to the owner again and he said he would have to ask the serviceman what transpired and he would get back to me. He never did. Worthless. Don't waste your time. As an aside, I found out that my neighbor had contacted this company to purchase a generator. He left a message. The company never responded. He got his generator from another firm. read more
