I chose Cape Code Independent Power mainly for two reasons: a) The price was very competitive. b) The owner made a great impression: very knowledgeable in every aspect, from equipment to installation, he came across very credible and authentic. The crew that came to do installation was courteous and professional, everything was executed as planned. It's been three months since the generator was installed. We had one power outage and it worked perfectly well. I recently had an issue with my mini split, and I called for a service. I was told to service the unit the cost would be between $159 and $250. The service person came and went, no information was provide on the service he perform expect to say it was a deep clean. A few weeks later I received the bill in the mail for $380, well that is way more than what was told to me. The bill also did not have any details on the service performed, the bill states a "Tune Up Ductless". When I spoke to the person who handles the billing, she said that is the price and sorry I was told something different. She did offer to deduct $25. Also the office person said the credit card they have on file is no longer valid, I did not even know they had my credit card still on file and never gave permission to charge without my knowledge. This is terrible customer service and a dishonest business. When a price is given every effort should be made to honor that price and if it is going to be substantially more like, in my case, then that should be told up front prior to work being started.

So I wanted a local electrician to come out to figure it out and fix. I wanted an actual local electrician not some company 2 hours away that pops up at the top of the list just because they want to start providing "service" in the area. (Found that out when trying to find a "local" deck builder a few years ago via Yelp). Anyhow, I called Ed, explained the problem, he had me check a few things, and pretty much identified the problem over the phone. He said he was on another job at the moment and would get back to me later in the day. Unlike many of the other services I've reached out to on Yelp lately, he actually followed through and came by late afternoon. Within about 10 to 15 minutes he found a short in an outlet and fixed the problem. I will not hesitate to contact Ed again for all my electrical needs!
