They offered to come out between scheduled calls (which I thought was awesome), but I told them it wasn't an emergency -- I just wanted an opinion from an expert. They scheduled an appointment for two days later, and the tech (Glen) arrived on time. He was friendly and professional and went to work studying all the pumps in the basement, as well as the pump in the septic system. Now he absolutely could have told me they all needed to be replaced immediately and I would have cut a check. Instead, he assured me they're all in working order and in good shape. As this was my first appointment, he also took a look at my other equipment (on demand water heater, washer hookup, main water line, toilets, faucets, and furnace), and gave me a solid walk-through, providing some thoughts on what I should be looking at over the next year or so. So I wanted a local electrician to come out to figure it out and fix. I wanted an actual local electrician not some company 2 hours away that pops up at the top of the list just because they want to start providing "service" in the area. (Found that out when trying to find a "local" deck builder a few years ago via Yelp). Anyhow, I called Ed, explained the problem, he had me check a few things, and pretty much identified the problem over the phone. He said he was on another job at the moment and would get back to me later in the day. Unlike many of the other services I've reached out to on Yelp lately, he actually followed through and came by late afternoon. He came within 40 minutes that day. Surveyed the situation, left to get all the materials and ended up fixing lights, doorbell, changing smoke detectors and even checking our electrical panel by 6pm with his assistant. It was wonderful. We felt the price was fair especially when he did all the service that day on short notice. He is very pleasant and offered his advice and recommendations on things that we asked him about. We plan on having him come back to replace the electric baseboard cover.
