On the Outer Cape in the winter, when the tourists are gone, it is amazing to call any service or…read morerepair company and get an actual human picking up and ready to do work for you. After calling about six "companies," and getting home answering machines, or no answers at all, I was surprised that Wind River picked up right away AND were willing and able to come out and do the job on the same day. A nice man showed up with a big tank truck and went right to work (we had already uncovered the tank manhole, so I'm not sure what happens when the guy has to try to find and dig out the access to the tank, but their website says the can do it somehow). The tank was packed with muck, but he methodically worked it all loose and sucked it up. Took a little over an hour. They gave an estimate first thing on the phone, and it was that much. It was reasonable for what he did. Receipt comes via email. He up-sold me on products to keep the tank healthy but didn't push. I chose to get the tank bacteria they add to the tank before it is closed up, but passed on the monthly products because I figured I could get the same thing on Amazon or Ebay. All and all a great experience, considering it revolved around poop.

Called Monday and was told someone came by at 7:30 am and had several reasons they couldn't do it. Nobody called, texted or emailed me or rang a doorbell or knocked, and they had my number and email and must have seen my doorbell. They told me between 10:00 to 12:00 am would be the arrival time. Then they said it would be three more weeks before I could get another appointment. With that kind of service I'll go with somebody else.

That is to his credit. We discussed each discovery. I made the final call on what to do. He was easy to work with. 4. Given that the job had grown and it was supper time, I was impressed with his determination to finish the same day, and still keep doing every thing well. Over the course of an afternoon he installed a water line to a new refrigerator (old fridge had no water line), modified the natural gas line for a new stove, got the supply and drain lines all straight for a new dishwasher, and resolved several real problems with supply and drain lines under the kitchen sink. I also appreciated his frankness. As soon as I said "gas line problem for stove" he said the work would need a building permit, for $70, and he would not touch the job without doing the permit. While I'm as happy to save $70 as the next person, having an independent inspection of gas line work is not a bad thing. I said I had no problem with Drew doing the things that are standard practice in his trade, such as a building permit when required. He charged a fair price for the hours he was here, and he FINISHED the work the same day. Happy to give FIVE STARS for that kind of professionalism.
