We purchased an Electrolux washer/dryer tower from Kam Appliance about a year ago solely because of their supposed reputation for customer service and warranty support. learn from our mistake and run the other direction. From early on, this unit has had serious, ongoing issues, most notably an extreme and abnormal lint problem. The lint buildup is so excessive that unless I go to unreasonable lengths to clean the dryer after virtually every load, it becomes unmanageable. This is not normal operation. It is not acceptable. Before Christmas, I sent Kam Appliance a very explicit, very detailed email describing the lint issue again, supported by numerous photos and videos, and also documented that the unit shakes the entire house during operation. I followed up and was told parts had been ordered and that someone would reach out when they arrived. After about a month and a half of waiting, someone was finally scheduled to come out. The confirmation text conveniently included an order summary showing three parts that had absolutely nothing to do with the lint problem. When I called Kam to ask how this could possibly be correct, I was told there was "nothing in the notes" about a lint issue and that the visit was only meant to address a "noise" issue. The technician still came out and was helpful as he could be, but did not have the parts to fix the problem. I then contacted Kam Appliance again asking for an explanation as to how such a blatant failure in communication and record-keeping could occur when my complaints were detailed, repeated, and documented with evidence. I have received no response whatsoever. Completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. read more

Well, well, well... here we are again. Eight months later and--shocker--the dryer is broken. That makes THREE times in less than two years, all for the exact same issue. At this point, this is not normal wear and tear--it's a clear pattern of a defective appliance that has never been properly repaired or replaced. Repeated service calls that fail to resolve the root issue raise serious concerns about the quality of the product and the adequacy of the repairs being performed. Under consumer protection standards, products are expected to be fit for their ordinary purpose and to function reliably. A dryer that fails this frequently, for the same issue, may reasonably be considered defective. Continuing to patch the problem instead of offering a lasting solution is unacceptable. This has created a significant hardship for my elderly mother, who depends on having a working dryer in the home. Losing access repeatedly is not just inconvenient--it disrupts her routine and adds unnecessary stress and burden. At this point, KAM Appliance should be addressing this issue immediately--not making an elderly customer wait yet again for a temporary fix to a recurring problem. Given the repeated failures and lack of a permanent repair, this situation warrants a full replacement of the unit or a refund. Under implied warranty and consumer protection principles, customers should not be left with a product that consistently fails to perform as intended. Continuing to service the same defective unit without resolution falls short of reasonable expectations. After multiple breakdowns and no permanent resolution, it's clear this issue has not been taken seriously. It's always we can't give you an ETA on the part but that's all, no follow up unless I initiate. When I asked the agent if they would be upset if it took this long for their appliance, I was told for this appliance it wouldn't, but for something more important, probably. So the POOR experience continues...apparently in response to my previous YELP review, they tried to make it better. First they gave me an earlier appointment of 09/17, which I could not make. Then yesterday, 09/11, a man calls and explains that they have an opening for 09/12, between 1-3 due to a cancellation. At 3:45 I call KAM Customer Service to ask where the tech is as no one had shown up nor called. Service person said she would call back after checking with the tech....called back and he is NOT going to show up! Seems no one told him about my appointment, that, once again their system was down (they have used that excuse with me before). I asked if anyone was going to call me to let me know, to which she replied...NO....I asked to speak to the man who called me yesterday and was told he is on vacation. I asked to speak to the customer service manager and was told she too is on vacation. Finally was told they would call me Monday morning. So continue to STAY AWAY from KAM Appliances. If you call the Hyannis store and request connection to sales the phone will ring out 10+ times and then go to voicemail. This is really poor customer service. It's difficult to fully describe the terrible and entirely indifferent service from KAM. We ordered a full suite of new kitchen appliances, paid 50% deposit. When it came time to deliver some months later not all of the appliances were ready, and the refrigerator was discontinued. But that's not the issue. We had a Wolf built in oven that malfunctioned within the first two weeks. I told them exactly what the problem was, exactly what part was required to replace it. I asked them to not send the repair person until he had the part. Today he came. Had the wrong part. Not his fault, he was good. Their incompetence. Now they've got to order the right part and I have no idea when I'll get it repaired. 95% of the time I've had this oven it's been broken. There's no recourse, no compensation. I expect some insincere apology. I will never again buy anything from KAM. read more

PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM KAM! You will be asked to pay in full for product and installation and then you will try to call the store and no one will EVER answer the phone! You will have to physically go back to the store with questions or to ask WHEN they will actually come back and finish the installation! I started with a service representative named Diane, who was unqualified! I was charged for 2 ovens when I ordered 1 oven. I tried to call several times with no answer. I emailed several times and finally got the correction. I was told 1 to 2 weeks to finish installation. I am on week 3 with no response from emails. Again, trying to call and get ANYONE to answer the phone and let me know when my PAID IN FULL installation will be completed! I should have gone to Crane Appliance and not Kam! read more

I bought a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator from KAM four years ago. Earlier this year, the external water filter started leaking profusely. A gasket had failed and I called KAM and told them exactly what the problem was and what needed to be replaced. The subsequent service call ($135) resulted in the technician telling me the same thing after about 90 seconds of examining the filter and he said the part would need to be replaced. Two weeks later, I received a voicemail telling me that the manufacturer had stopped manufacturing this model. Nothing further or suggestions on how to resolve. I called them back and asked what alternatives either they or the manufacturer suggest as this is a relatively new product. I was told they would follow up. After three weeks of not hearing anything, I called them back. "Nothing we can do..." No acknowledgment they never followed up and not helpful. Done with KAM. Zero stars if I could.... read more

Purchased refrigerator, stove & dishwasher in January. The sales & delivery experience went fine. BUT the 2 plumbers we'd used previously were not available so we asked our KAM salesperson if KAM had a plumber they could recommend. He gave us the name & phone # of someone who he said is not an employee of KAM but whom their customers have used. We called him & he came to the house to disconnect the old dishwasher, install the new one & connect the new stove. 2 days later, on a Sunday, we smelled gas & called him. He pulled-out the stove & said it had a faulty valve, which our former contractor friend told us doesn't exist. But at least then the gas smell was gone. After about 2 weeks of using the dishwasher we noticed that the wooden floor in front of it was buckling! We called the plumber again & when he pulled-out the new dishwasher he saw that 2 nails were sticking through the wall where the dishwasher was pushed in & they had punctured the drain hose. He said it was not his fault (really???) & ordered a new drain hose which he then came & installed. We thought we had a potential lawsuit brewing but I called the general manager of the KAM Hyannis store & explained the situation, saying they should not be recommending this plumber. Apparently he called the plumber & explained how serious this situation was because we heard next from the plumber's insurance company. They immediately sent an adjustor to inspect the damage & very soon afterwards we received payment covering the cost of movers to move all the kitchen, dining room & living room furniture into the sunroom & bedrooms, have floor sanding & refinishing done throughout the entire house & book accommodations for us & our pets to stay in for 5 nights when moving out of the house for this work to be done. We have only praise for the insurance company & adjuster but KAM should not be recommending an inferior plumber who couldn't correctly do the 2 things we hired him for. This has been a very stressful & time-consuming period getting estimates & arranging all the details & never should have occurred in the first place! read more

We purchased a brand new washer and dryer set from KAM Appliance, and the experience has been nothing short of awful. Within weeks of installation, the washer began leaking, causing water damage to the floors in our brand new home. ( not even the first service call for this brand new washer unfortunately). When we called for help, we were told the soonest service appointment was 19 days away -- unacceptable for a brand new appliance. On the day of that long-awaited appointment, KAM cancelled last minute and told us we'd need to wait another three-plus weeks. When we expressed concern, we were casually told to "just go to the laundromat" -- incredibly unhelpful and dismissive given the circumstances. To make matters worse, our dryer also arrived defective. The door doesn't close properly, and even more concerning, it continues running when the door is open -- a serious safety hazard with young children in the house. Despite multiple calls and promises of a supervisor follow-up, no one has ever called us back. We've received nothing but the runaround and zero accountability from KAM. For the price we paid and the trust we placed in them, the lack of urgency and care is beyond disappointing. We expected far better service from a local company -- but after this experience, we'll be taking our business elsewhere and warning others to do the same. read more

Finally after six months KAM agreed to give me a credit for my Thermador wine refrigerator that has not been working since May. I used the credit to purchase a SubZero beverage center from them. It took six frustrating months of ME calling KAM and Thermador to receive a credit for a wine refrigerator that was not working and Thermador agreed it was not repairable. Not once did I receive a return call but had to continue calling. I even went into KAM appliance in Hyannis and was told there was no management onsite to speak with!! A salesman, Chris Tavares heard us being very frustrated with the situation and came over to help. He alone was extremely helpful and professional in solving the issue within a week. The SubZero was delivered on November 6th by Aaron who was also very professional and courteous. The credit was about the cost of the SubZero so it was a basically a wash, except they charged me for delivery $300 again! I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything from KAM given their very poor customer service. read more

One would think that a replacement would be in order. Latest call to KAMs was never returned. Let's see what happens when the LG factory repair vendor shows up to attempt another repair. And, why a repair on a new product? UPDATE FRIDAY 10:03 PM Hhhmm.....LG factory repair replaced another board. But surprise, the "fix" did not work. Error code rS - "indicates a short or disconnection of the refrigerator sensor ... the unit will require a repair service."
