I requested a service assessment for my clothes washer which completed a rinse cycle but then made strange noises. The following day (Sunday) was a "top ten worst" snowstorm and only essential workers were allowed on the road. Tuesday morning Chris arrived at 7:30am, ordered parts and gave me an estimate. Parts arrived on Thursday. And my machine was running before 11am Friday! I was pleased beyond words. I originally called Crane Appliances from whom I purchased my washing machine. Refrigerator was making a loud noise several times an hour making it difficult to sleep. Called on a Saturday during business hours but could only leave a voicemail. Contacted me by email and set up an appointment for diagnosis five days later ($179). Technician said it was cooling fan and would need to order parts. Was invoiced for parts the same day ($329). Parts took 12 days to arrive. Technician replaced cooling fan and left - noise started up again immediately . Called twice but could only leave a message. Tech called that afternoon and told me nothing more could be done and I would need to buy a new appliance and that parts would be refunded but diagnosis and labor would be charged. Took over 2 weeks to receive check for parts that did not cover shipping. So paid for a misdiagnosis and labor and shipping for unneeded parts. Was able to have another company come out , identify the problem and fix it. No diagnosis fee. No upfront charge to order parts. No payment until fixed. And correctly identified the problem. Have called the company that referred this business to me to tell them to stop referring this business. read more

BEWARE!! I have an extended warranty on my microwave oven. Cape Appliance and Repairs, Inc was sent to our home to assess the problem under warranty. While in our home, my wife asked the repair tech. about a problem we were having with our refrigerator. The technician mentioned some common problems and then said "to tell you anymore, he would have to bill us for a service call". That is where the conversation ended. The technician did NOT physically look at the refrigerator and left our home. A woman at Cape Appliance called and told us they would not return to repair our microwave unless we paid them an additional $179 for a service call fee because my wife had asked a question about the refrigerator.. I told the woman I would be willing to pay for a service call when they returned to access what was needed to repair our refrigerator. She became nasty and refused to repair our microwave (covered by the warranty) unless we paid them $179 for the a 20-second conversation about another appliance in the room. We were held hostage and our microwave was never repaired by them. Be careful if you do business with this company...apparently you can't speak with their technician without incurring a service fee of $179. read more

Service to come out was good but they charge 179.00 service call and I asked if they could fix the problem I explained and the girl said yes but they didn't and wanted 350.0" more to fix it. Don't use them. Buy a new appliance or a cheaper service call company. Just not them read more

I had an issue with my GE profile refrigerator - the freezer door handle would no reattach, the unit is only 18 months old I called GE and they said to get an estimate to repair it I called them and the came out. Defective door needed to be replaced They ordered the necessary parts and gave me an estimated I could submit to GE for reimbursement Repaired in one week! This is a case of unmet expectations. My admittedly old Sub Zero refrig/freezer developed a coolant leakage in the freezer compartment and stopped cooling. When recharged with coolant, it would stay cold for about 2 months, then fail. About 2 months ago, Cape Appliance repair examined my unit and diagnosed an evaporator leak, and replaced it with a brand-new factory evaporator (cost $1,000). I supplied and paid for the evaporator. The freezer stayed cool for about 2 months, then failed (same as before the repair). Cape Appliance Repair diagnosed a "clogged" system ($180) and replaced the filter/drier. Less than 24 hours later, the system failed and they diagnosed a leak in the heat exchanger. They replaced the heat exchanger and filter drier ($150) with brand-new factory parts that I supplied and paid for. The system failed within 24 hours of this repair as almost all of the coolant had leaked out of the system. They diagnosed another evaporator leak (the evaporator was only 2 months old and came from the Sub Zero factory) and wanted me to pay them another $500. I decided that I could not justify paying them any additional money and have lost complete confidence in this repair services' competence. In fairness to this company, they did refund me $180 and $150, but I still have a freezer that doesn't work and paid them $1,000 to make my unit less useful than it was before they got involved. When the system is restored to service by a competent servicer, I will have the 2 month old evaporator pressure tested to determine if there is, in fact, a leak. If there isn't, I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

They did a repair once before and they were fantastic and responsive. A repair person came and quickly identified the problem with my refrigerator. I was so happy with the service they provided. Called them again for another repair and missed their phone call back, as I was at work. Called them back for service and placed more calls, after missing the phone call, never received a call back. And called them several times following. Left several messages with still no call back. They don't seem to answer phone either. However, when they serviced my refrigerator the first time, it was top quality. Just answer the phone when they call back...If you get that lucky and they call you back. read more

I had them come out to fix the freezer of my new Bosch Refrigerator's freezer. He came out 3 times within 2 months. Each time it would be at least a week before he could get there again. The last time he came he told me he couldn't repair it, the freezer had a sealed system leak and I needed to find a service company that will service this type of refrigerant, which in fact would be vey hard/ I might have to fight with Bosch to get a whole new refrigerator. I called another service company Bosch recommended (one that is peculiarly named very close to this one but is an older company.) They came to look at it, diagnosed it, found out it was not a sealed system leak and had it fixed within the week! I was without my freezer for 2 months. So dissatisfied. read more
