As soon as I pulled into the parking area, a gentleman greeted me and he got my car inspection underway almost immediately after I showed my proof of active auto insurance. Horrible experience! Lets start with it taking nearly 3hrs for an oil change! During the oil change, they were rough with my van and broke the oil cap. Not taking responsibility for damaging my van, they came up the excuse to blame the people who did the oil change before them. I've had several oil changes on my van and many cars over the years and have never had any issues anywhere else. It seems completely dishonest for a company to say it's this price and it will be 15mins for an oil change and then when they get it in are rough with my van, break a part, proceed to charge the customer for their fault, and taking 2-3hrs longer than promised. They didn't come up to say what happened until it was time to check out and then expected for me to pay for the part they broke. At least have the decency to come to the customer to let them know why it was taking longer than usual. They never asked what kind of oil I wanted. Ended up putting the wrong oil in my car! I usually check my air/cabin filters, fluids etc to see if they need to be changed. They missed even refilling the wiper fluid. They never checked the filters or they would have noticed that it was due to change both. Leads me to believe they never even checked anything for the 3hrs it was sitting in the bay. They said they topped the air on my tires. My van has green caps for nitrogen. They confirmed that they did put regular air in my tires and do not sell nitrogen. It was missing one of the green caps after they tampered with my tires. How does a mechanic not know what green caps mean on a tire and proceed to fill with regular air without asking the customer? They probably missed the sticker in the door saying nitrogen filled only too. They damaged the interior where they failed to put a cover down to protect my carpeting and seats. Its pretty standard to put a protective covering down so the mechanic doesn't damage the interior, especially now with Covid. There are black footprints all over the carpeting. They did not take any precautions for Covid-19. There was no mask wearing by the mgr or employees, despite it being state mandated by the governor. UPDATE: Called the company at 8am the next morning to discuss the issues. They said the mgr, Regan, was not in and he'd give us a call back. He never returned our call. I decided to go by in person. Regan was on site of course. He simply seemed to be avoiding dealing with an unhappy customer. I brought to attention the issues with my van. Because of the issues of how long the previous oil change took, them charging me for a part they broke, and other damages, I told him I did not want them to further mess with my van. I did not feel like they would give me a honest service at this point with the damages they have already caused. At that point, I simply wanted my money back so that I could go to another company to have my car properly serviced. However, he ignored my issues. He proceeded to check under the hood. He couldn't open the hood because he was pulling on the button that opens the cover to my gas pump. He then asked his buddy to come over and "help jerk on the hood while he pulls the button" to my gas cover. They continued to be rough with my van until I said something about him pulling the wrong button to open my hood (this action further led to me to believe they do not know what they were doing and were intentionally too rough on my car when removing/breaking the oil cap). He tried to remedy the interior damages by spraying a strong chemical abrasive on it. It didn't clean it, only smudged it around. I had my infant in the back who upon him spraying the chemicals started crying because the scent was so strong. The whole rest of the day the scent in my van was so strong it gave me a massive migraine and made me feel nauseas. I took out the mat and washed it, but the oil footprints are still stained into the mat. He didn't even ask me if it was ok to spray abrasives with an infant in my car. At this point, the whole situation and his attitude towards me was very upsetting. Plus my infant was crying. I told the him to just please stop spraying chemicals on my interior. He stopped, said 'Thank you, have a great day' and stormed away. He did not offer a refund or to fix any of the other issues. He and his buddy were talking about it and laughing as I got in my car to leave. The whole sexist attitudes they had towards me the whole time, just because I'm a woman they think I don't know anything about cars and think that they can take advantage of me. I've filed a complaint with the Chamber/BBB. Turns out this company does not have an accreditation with the BBB like most other reputable mechanics. Not surprising at all. I am considering taking this up with my lawyer if it turns out them putting the wrong oil in my van has caused any serious mechanical issues. read more

When Ricky owned this... it was a great place to do business. He was good people. Now... I don't know what has happened. Below a 1 star rating, in my opinion. Yesterday I stopped in to have a 20 to 30 minute simple shock replacement. (4 attachment locations) I had brought my own equipment. I was quoted a cost of $80 to do this. Well... I decided to get a 2nd opinion, and stopped at the recently opened Lindale Tire location by Pool Lake. They did the work for $40. A fair price for a fair job. Needless to say, Medders lost my business and Lindale Tire has now earned it.You cannot continually do people in that manner and expect them to continue to support your business. Give the folks at Lindale Tire a shot. I think you'll be happy. If Medders can improve, I'd say they could try again... but until then... pass on by & shop elsewhere. read more

These guys do an incredible job at speed and efficiency. Went in for an inspection and was in and out in 15 minutes. They are friendly and really take time to answer questions. Went for an inspection. After 30 minutes of hearing everyone in shop having fun, I stated I was going to go elsewhere because they were too busy. I was informed that "they were not that busy they were just playing around.". Guess what, I went to P&O, never to return to Medders. read more

Let me start off by saying that my family has used Medders for about 20 years. I went in to check my brake's since they had been squeaking and grinding for a good minute. I told them that I was moving up to Washington in about a month, so I needed this fixed. They confirmed that I needed to get them replaced and I paid $200 for new brakes. A week later, I'm still hearing this grinding. Since Medders was 30 minutes away from where I was living at the time, I went to another Auto Shop and got them to check this problem out. Before they told me what the problem was, they asked who I went to on getting my brakes fixed. They said that the bolts were loose and that my struts needed serious replacing, which was dangerous. ESPECIALLY dangerous when I was about to drive across the country in two weeks. I called Medders a couple days after and asked to speak to a supervisor. I told him what happened and that I could've been in a serious car accident because of their negligence. He didn't offer his apologies and obviously didn't feel at fault. Their new management is HORRIBLE. Don't waste your money. read more

This place changed ownership recently and my years-long experience getting two vehicles serviced changed from excellent to unsatisfactory. After a requested routine tire rotation and balanced i was left with a bad vibration above 40 miles per hour where none existed at all before hand. I returned immediately and was told "the tires were six years old and couldn't be balanced." They refused any further examination at all. I had the tires satisfactorily balanced at a tire shop that sold the brand of tires in question. I shall never go back to Medders Brake & Alignment again unless the current management changes. read more
