I took my dually truck to A&B following the purchase of 4 new tires (told by the tire dealer that 2 of the rear tires were fine) and having a terrible vibration at lower to higher speeds. Tires were re-balanced and still bad vibration. The team at A&B immediately pointed out that one my older rear tires was separating thus causing the issue. I would give A&B Brake and Alignment 6 or 7 stars if I could. My wife had an accident driving from Dallas to Tyler and the other driver hit one of the rear wheels. It was drivable but the wheel was damaged and the car was not driving smoothly. She took it in and Mike looked it over, made some adjustments, and took it out on the highway to test it to make sure it was safe so that she could drive it back to Dallas. My car was serviced 8/9/2023 and was well worth the wait . It is a first come first serve but the men are working punctually to get everyone in and out ! Now I did wait 5 hours because there were cars there before me BUT I paid 1/3 of what the dealership would've charged me . Also , the sweet receptionist offered me her umbrella to go get some food and she will keep you informed on how long it'll be once your car is on the mechanic machine thing . Not accustomed to letting automotive shops work on our 1969 classic Chevelle SS, however we had heard that A&B was a group we could trust to do the work correctly. Mike took time to meet with me personally to make sure that they understood what problems we were having. He made several recommendations but said they would look at several areas to make certain they addressed the issue at the source and weren't chasing maybes. The result - PROBLEM SOLVED with one day service on a fairly complex job, extremely fair pricing and a firm handshake and thank you upon completion. Honest people.My grandfather told me bout 20 years ago to take my vehicle to this business because they are honest, they've not ever lied or tried to overcharge for work ever. I reside in the Irving, Tx area and I'll take my car to Tyler for any issues in which they can repair, that's how much I trust the business. Example, dealer was going to (maybe, I would not have ever known) replace a part I didn't need and charge me $500 and A & B told me that my hose was just worn and repaired it and saved me at least $400. The honesty is that, I assumed I knew the problem when I took my car in, they could have easily allowed me to think I was right, kept my car a few hours and charged me a little less and I would've not known, Their mechanics were honest and I was there 30 minutes and issue was resolved. I went for an alignment and paid for services not once did they mention that my car strut was making a noise because they thought it wasn't important. I believe my tire falling off due to that would be very important to mention to a customer, especially for a momma who has little ones. Do not go here worse experience ever! I have gone to A & B Brake and Alignment maybe 4 times since moving to Tyler, TX. Always received good and timely service. Their site is secure at night making overnight stays, if needed, safe for my vehicles. I give A&B Brake and Alignment 5 stars for the care they put into making my vehicles safe. For example, in May of 2015, I brought in my 98 Subaru Forester for brake work. Upon inspection, they let me know that I had a front right wheel bearing that was very "Squirrely" (their words...haha) and needed immediate attention. Not being a mechanic, I had thought the knocking noise I had been hearing (for about 6 months) was coming from the timing chain. Did I mention I was not a mechanic? March 2022 , I read all of the positive reviews about A&B. Took the vehicle in for shimmying on hard braking and had the rotors turned on both axles. I specifically asked Mike about going ahead and replacing the rotors but he said my pads had 40-50% life left and he was confident the rotors could be turned and I would be good for 'awhile'--$368. The brakes worked for 'awhile'! Like 9k miles and back it went to A&B--shimmying on braking! In July 2022, same issue. This time, new pads and rotors on both axles. $468.42 (got a bit of credit from previous parts). Right around 10K miles early April 2023, truck started shimmying again, I called them and they said yeah those rotors need to be turned! Are you kidding me? Not even 10K miles? I've put 160K miles on this vehicle and only had 2 other dual axle brake job. Either they don't know what they are doing or those are some terribly thin rotors they are using for replacement. No warranty either, they just want me to cough up another $368 to get the rotors turned again! Nope not using them again. Hopefully, you will get better work and service out of them than I did. I would give them a 0 star but the service manager Mike is a standup guy and seems honest so I will give them that. read more

This is probably the best brake shop I've ever been to. I have a 2013 Jaguar XK and everything you do to it is expensive. I was getting a shimmy in the car when I was braking hard. They turned all the rotors (which Jaguar said couldn't be done) and now it stops perfectly. The charge, $120.00! Unbelievable! If you bring your car anywhere else, you're a fool. read more

I have not had a service from this shop, but it was recommended to me by a friend who has used them multiple times. I took my car in because my brakes have been squeaking a little, they checked them out and told me that they were just fine. That I could get them replaced if the noise was bothering me but that they looked really good. I was very surprised and it made a really good impression on me.
