It took about 10 - 15 minutes before we were called back to pickup our order. The order came in a paper/cardboard bowl lined with paper. You really couldn't tell much since it was covered with nacho cheese sauce and bbq sauce. First few chips came up with...sauce which was cold. Surprising since nachos should be served warm. When I got a piece of chicken, it was small and barely warm. The chips were but a handful and cold. We did not find much chicken and for the $18.00 felt we were taken. Disappointed! By over charging and hiding the lack of meat, you have lost people who were regulars at the Dexter Lake Club.

I discovered Lamplighter in Oakland several years ago when visiting my mother in Sutherlin…read more The first time was pre-remodeling. Dark, old 150 year old bar. Loved it Best part is they served grilled cheese sandwiches an pea soup, just like my mom used to make. (I'm 70) .they sold it and the new owners really spruced it up, and the menus, however, no pea soup but fantastic clam chowder and wonderful tomato soup. Great bar, fantastic service, wonderful music. I just came down due to my mother passing, but I still ate there 9 times in 3 weeks. Number one for comfort food. The elk burger is juicy, sweet potato fries, fish tacos were wonderful!! What ever u do, do not miss going next door to the most wonderful antique store you will ever visit. It's more like walking into Nordstroms than a dingy antique store. The owner is wonderful, so much so I have bought more than 5 vintage coats (pee coats, Harley, huge vintage coat from England, pewter candle hubris and many more. You will not be disappointed!!!,

Nice small group of tables outside some of which have umbrellas for shade. The menu is very nice with a good number of options that are vegan friendly. Subbed out a fruit bowl for the potatoes and toast and added a couple more eggs and a sausage patty to round out. Really good coffee that the server kept topped up for me. Very impressed for a small diner with the food prep, the atmosphere, and the Service. Everything all in with tip was about $40. We ordered online and waited about 15 mins after the estimated time. The food was ok - we got the ham and veggie hot pockets and veggie hand pie, and sticky bun. We also purchased the ginger apple juice online but they didn't actually have it and just gave a plain apple juice (generic bottle), which was nothing special. The hot pockets and hand pies were unevenly seasoned - some were bland and others very salty. The sticky bun was kinda dry. Wouldn't go out of the way to get this in the future.

Oakland Tavern - Old School Fun Since the late 1800s…read more Stopped into the Oakland Tavern in Oakland, OR, and wow - what a blast! I think our bartender's name was Alicia (if so, she was fantastic - if not, whoever it was deserves a medal). Friendly, quick, and made the whole place feel like home. It's got some 49ers vibes going on, so you've been warned (or welcomed, depending on your team colors). This is an old-school bar - started in the late 1800s - but it's packed with life. Lots of colorful, interesting locals, and just an all-around great group of people to share a drink with. Didn't try the food, so no comment there - but the atmosphere alone was worth the stop. The kind of place you wish you could come back to every weekend. If you're anywhere near Oakland, OR, and in the mood for history, laughs, and a cold drink, this is your spot.
