We used Meathead Movers to move our home (large furniture and appliances AND piano) in August. We received a quote from Ali, who came to our house about a month before our move. She was able to walk room to room using her tablet to record the items we wanted them to move. She was thorough and amazingly quick, thanks to some type of program the company uses to estimate the amount of time it will take to move. She explained our low and high end price before she left and emailed us a copy of the quotes the same day. After getting quotes from two more companies, it was clear that the professionalism and organization of Meathead Movers exceeded the other moving companies in the area. They are up front about the fact that they might not be the least expensive movers in town, but their customer service is exceptional and there are no hidden costs. We had to change the date of our move at the last minute due to a delay in our escrow close date. It was so simple---there was absolutely no issue with changing our move date and setting up a new date. No charge, either. As they stated, they are accustomed to the common delays of escrow and their company's goal is to take away as much of the stress related to moving as possible. The day of the move, our crew called us about 15 minutes prior to the move to confirm our readiness and they showed up at the exact time arranged. They did a walk through of the house and got started promptly. Our movers, Christian, Chris, and Eric were professional, kind, and very careful with our belongings. They always had smiles on their faces, in spite of the 106 degree heat we were unfortunate to experience that day. They wrapped all of our furniture, protected halls and doorways and made sure our items were placed in the appropriate rooms at the new house. Our move required a stop and load at a storage unit nearby and the crew handled the packing with such care and ease. These athlete movers were exceptional and deserve kudos for the service they provided. I highly recommend Meathead Movers and have already referred friends. This was our first experience hiring a moving company and we will definitely use Meathead Movers again if we ever have to move. The company itself is organized and detailed but the Move Coordinator and the 3 men who moved us, are the people that made Meathead Movers an amazing experience for us. TAY AWAY. DO NOT MAKE THE GIANT MISTAKE BY CHOOSING MEATHEAD MOVERS. I did my research and thought (and was told) I was picking the best company out there. Come moving day, I find SEVERAL of my items were damaged (including a giant divot in my dining room table, several chips and scratches on wooden chairs, a completely busted floor lamp, a completely broken and non usable 4 drawer storage organizer, giant non buffable scratches on a 5 ft tool chest) but get this, I (after just having moved, still unpacking, starting a new job, changing my address with everyone, etc) have the pleasure of being told I have to submit a claim, which means I have to have professional estimates done on all the damage which means several appointments of which I have to take time off work of my new job (which isn't possible) and is more income loss just to have an estimate guy to come out to my home just to submit my claim to be told that it probably won't be processed because of some loophole in their contract. As if that isn't bad enough, I plug in my 55' Smart TV & can hardly see anything on the screen because there's giant pixelated lines going up and down all over the screen. I add that to the claim but I'm told they aren't liable because it's mechanical damage and not physical damage. None of that was made clear to me...yet they made me sign a waiver for a $100 mirror. So I'm also out the $1500 for my TV because their contract is their get out of jail free card.. there aren't liable for anything unless it's physical damage but then it comes down to having to prove it was 1) damaged during the move and 2) caused by negligence of the movers. So unless you take time to photo & video EVERYTHING YOU OWN & have all of that proof before and after, and you hire a lawyer to interpret their contract for you, you have nothing to claim and they will not help you. Even after a week's worth of phone calls, emails, tears shedded, and so many hours wasted. ADVICE: anything that's expensive or important to you, you should move yourself ....which means hiring them to move anything of yours that you don't want damaged & irreparable...is pointless. So save yourself the trouble and move it yourself or go with literally any other moving company. read more

Meathead Movers, quite literally, saved my 86-year old Mom's life, so that she could move into her dream home. Here's the story: On the day that she was moving in, the "nice young men" arrived and did a "fantastic job" - as my mother was reporting to me over the phone, on her way to her new house. While the crew was starting to move things in, she was in the front yard, pruning an overgrown rosebush. What she didn't see was a ragged old stake in the midst of the rosebush. She scraped against it, lost her balance, and fell hard onto the sidewalk. The impact knocked her unconscious and caused a major laceration on her head. Mom was taking blood thinning medication, so blood loss started right away. She needed immediate medical attention and surgery. That's when the Meathead Movers crew saved her life. They witnessed the fall, immediately called 911 and stayed with her until the ambulance arrived to take her to the local hospital. Not only that, they then called me (as I was driving to the hospital) to coordinate on how to get her belongings into the house, where things should go, etc. Words cannot express how grateful I was for their calm and concerned actions, and the peace of mind I had knowing that the things that were precious to her were securely in her new home. For the next 5 weeks, Mom went through brain surgery and rehabilitation therapies. Against all odds, she was able to walk into her house in the middle of October and recover at home, watching the hummingbirds, petting her cat, and having meals with friends and family. I was immediately impressed with Meathead Movers from my first phone call to their company about 4 weeks before my actual moving date. I had the great fortune of working with Ali over the phone and she was always extremely friendly, knowledgable and encouraging. Moving can be a confusing experience and very rarely ever fun, but Ali informed me of every level of service that Meathead offered and never tried to "up-sell" me into something that I did not need. I started off with a contract that included a truck and three movers, but after moving a lot of the smaller items myself in the days leading up to my move, I was able to conveniently pare down my contract (thanks to Ali again) to just having two movers help me move my larger items via a U-Haul that I rented. I was also fortunate that those two movers happened to be Steven and Reno. They showed up promptly and immediately came up with a game plan. After going over a small bit of paperwork, they even offered me a chair to sit back and relax while they did all the hard work! As advertised, they ran back and forth from the truck as they loaded it and did the same when unloading at my new residence. They were careful, professional and worked extremely hard. From beginning to end, Ali, Steven and Reno made what could have been a stressful experience into a pleasant one. My wife and I sold our home and were moving to an apartment while we look for a new home. We havent moved in 20 years so I wanted a moving company with no drama. Being older than we were for our last move we wanted a company we could trust. I saw Meathead Movers on Yelp and had seen their trucks around so I called them. Ali Coleman came out to give me an estimate and was very friendly and informative. Her estimate ended up being several hundred dollars higher than the actual move turned out to be, which she had said it probably would be. On the day of the move the crew was there on time and took to wrapping and cushioning our furniture and other things. They did a thorough job and had our house packed up in about 3 hours (3 bedroom house). They dropped several items off at our storage container on the way to our new apartment. When they unloaded the truck they brought the furniture in and unwrapped it and placed it in the positions that we specified. We moved some things several times in order to make sure we liked the placement. They were very helpful with heavy furniture. The crew were indeed students from Fresno State and were not only helpful but also courteous. Their leader was a guy named Jake who really did a good job in making sure that things went well and quickly. We have hired Meathead Movers three times now to do a very complex multi location, multiple day move. Each crew keeps getting better and better. Our experience every step of the way was excellent. The service reps and the moving crews are well trained, easy to communicate with and very courteous. By the last stage of our move I was over moving. We had a big move coming up and I landed in the hospital unexpectedly. We immediately thought of MeatHead Movers after I remembered seeing their trucks in my sons neighborhood in Clovis, Ca. From the moment these young men arrived, they got to work. Nick ( the lead mover) was polite, intelligent and very friendly. This young man knew his job very well. Our entire 3300 sq foot home was packed neatly, wrapped all the furniture with moving blankets, then wrapped them in plastic. They reassembled everything in our new home and put exactly where we asked them to place it. These young men were clean cut, friendly and worked tirelessly to get the job done. Did they run, you ask? Well, yes they did ( not while carrying items). As soon as they placed a load in the truck, they ran back to the house to get another one. I didn't think twice about leaving these young men in my home while I ran out for an errand. We could not have completed this move without them. What a God send they were. I have nothing but positive feedback about this company. We had another moving company scheduled and they didn't bother to show up. Meathead Movers moved their schedule around to come the next day! Branden Larragoitiy, Jannoi Chung, Alfredo Martinez, Alex Serpas showed up at our storage unit ontime and were fast and efficient. After the storage unit they were able to unload the 3 pods at my house and get the furniture placed exactly where I wanted it. They were very helpful, friendly, and professional. I've moved multiple times (both long distance and in town) and I was very impressed with them. When the appointment was scheduled they were very upfront about the fees, minimum time requirements. I highly recommend them. The unpacking became too overwhelming and I contacted them again about their unpacking services. Jayme and Daeja came on a Saturday morning to help with unpacking. They were early and went straight to work. They unpacked so fast I could actually sit down for the first time in 2 weeks. They were very organized in how they put my velongings away and consulted me as to how and where I wanted things placed. It would have taken me weeks to get those boxes unpacked. My whole experience with Meathead Movers was excellent from start to finish. While I do agree that they charge a little bit more than some of the other movers out there, the difference in price is not that much and when you consider how professional this company is, every penny is worth it. From day 1, they were extremely helpful and polite when I called them and were really good at being really clear with their pricing and all communication. They stayed in touch with me regularly in order to confirm the date/time/move location as well as to check to see if I needed any help or had any other concerns. I could easily reach them via email and phone throughout the weeks leading up to my move. I have moved numerous times now all over the United States and I can definitely say this was the best and easiest move I have had. I am giving Meathead movers and princess packers 10 stars!! I needed to get my 5,000 square foot home packed and moved in one weekend and Meathead Movers managed it all for me. I had a wonderful estimate coordinator, Amber, that took her time with me to review everything in the home that needed to be moved. Based on my description she was able to give me a quote and best of all prepare for my move properly. She sent out 4 packers and was able to pack my entire house in 6 hours. I barely lifted a finger. Based on my description of my move and furniture, she sent out a team of 8 movers. They were able to get my furniture disassembled, wrapped and packed in the truck in 4 hours. The hustle these young kids have is remarkable. Each and every packer and mover were kind, professional, energetic, and eager to get the job done. First time using Meathead movers, and I will never move without them! Moving is exciting- except for the actual like moving your stuff to the next location. This crew made it a breeze. Called in to get a quote- and the staff was polite, thorough, and helpful. I called a few days before my move and they answered all my questions and made notes of my priorities and concerns for when the actual team of movers arrived. Moving day arrives- and our team arrives prompt, professional, and ready to go. Sal- our team leader, walked through the home, asked questions and addressed my concerns and my priorities for the move. Going over everything and signing paperwork was detailed but very efficient. Christian and Cedric were awesome! Christian communicated every step of the move and Cedric was an impressive speedy mover. They both wrapped our furniture with great care. Even though they couldn't run because of the light rain they were still fast. They put my very heavy dining table back together in the blink of the eye! We even got to know our movers, while moving our stuff Christian talked about his career in baseball (his profile also states his goal of running his own business) and Cedric talked about his future attributes in the field of engineering. Me and my husband will definitely recommend these guys in order to help support them and the company. After Christian and Cedric said their goodbyes my husband said hiring Meathead Movers was worth every penny. I'd also like to add that the customer team was great too. When I called Meathead Movers, I couldn't help but laugh! So started the whole moving process with a smile on my face. The smile remained when I was helped by Ali, the service rep. Very professional, very responsive. We used their packing service as well as their moving service, and per my wife "worth every penny". They packed up our entire 4 bedroom home in under 5 hours. I don't know why there are bad reviews, as these guys came to my house, did an inventory of everything, gave me a quote that included the set price for the move from Fresno, CA to San Jose, CA, and gave me an estimate for labor and supplies (of which the final quote was lower than the expected), and they showed up with two of their OWN moving trucks. My wife received an inventory of all of our supplies prior to them moving everything into the truck, and as well they ensured everything was accounted for upon arrival. Couple things to note: - My wife and 3 kids did the move without me, I was very nervous about having my family moved without me, but these guys were all very professional from beginning to end (my kids (twin 2.5 year olds and a 6 month old) were around the moving men and my wife told me they were nothing but professional and courteous (and yes I know they should not have been there, but we had no other way). - NOT A SINGLE THING WAS BROKEN OR STOLEN - read more

Exactly 1 week ago today I met my Meathead Mover guys for the first time. They had me hooked from the first hello and sincere smile & handshake. I am a Senior Citizen and truly wanted to be able to trust my earthly belongings to someone reliable. Well, these guys filled the bill and then some My move took 2 days to accomplish since I was moving to another city. Over those 2 days 6 young men assisted me. I can not say enough wonderful things about Meathead Movers. Our team was lead by Justin K. and he did a fantastic job. Our move was large and required 5 guys, and each one of them were hard workers, moved quickly, yet was very careful and thoughtful with our items. I couldn't believe how quickly they executed our move and kept things moving to help us save money in the end. One thing that stuck out to me was how they all interacted with my 4 year old daughter. I was with her at our new home waiting for the moving truck, and when they arrived they were so respectful and kind with her.
