Phenomenal work these guys do, we had a little mishap where we had a very similar toolbag and it was accidentally taken by one of the employees. It wasn't a huge deal they contacted me right away and offered to drop it off the next morning. It happens, moving can be chaotic. They quoted me 3 hours and they stuck to those 3 hours. They were so quick and efficient and super careful with my furniture and my things. They were cheaper than most of the other companies that I reached out too and they were a lot more kind and straight forward with quoting. They're local to the central valley so I try to stick with local vendors. Another thing to mention is that they are a smaller company, so getting to talk to someone is very quick, it is easy to book with them and it is easy to work with them in general. It started where I was told to call after contacting through Yelp. I called and then they said someone would call me back later because they were not in the office. It was the next day when they finally reached out. I spoke with Donna who gave me a quote of up to 5 hours, which previous moves never took longer than that, and quoted me what up to 5 hours would cost. Before the move I called and requested 4 garment boxes which they said would add to my file and bring on moving day. On moving day they did not bring the garment boxes and had to use several of my boxes and they shoved my clothes in the boxes causing my nice pressed clothes that come from dry cleaners to become wrinkled and needing to repress. Moving day came and they were on time. Apparently there was a new person and then during my move an office staff person showed up for about 30 minutes to watch them move my stuff. The new guy was not sure on certain things so it slowed them down a little. We went to my storage after that which took them about 45 minutes to get there. Should not have taken more than 30 minutes. It took me only 18 minutes from first stop. Again moving stuff out of storage the new guy was slow. When moving stuff out they dropped my grandmothers box of silverware and damaged the box a little. They just kind of threw the silverware back in there and put it in the truck. Once we got to final destination there was a lot of double handling of stuff which again added time. During the move they damaged the frame to my extra room closet and because of the time, I just told them to store all the boxes in one room. It ended up being 6.5 hours and almost 300.00 dollars over the price quoted. They said they were going to put my table together, but because I knew they were over a lot of time and I was already frustrated by this time because of the carelessness and the slowness of the move I said forget it I will do it. When I reached out to the company after the move they were slow to respond and I told them all the stuff that happened. After some time they responded that they would send me a 300.00 voucher for future services. I declined the offer stating I will not be using their company again. I then just requested at least a refund of an hour for all the trouble and the slow worker. They again waited to respond and I kept reaching out. They responded that they would give me 25.00 Visa card for the damaged box and I just needed to send pictures. The professionalism of this company is a disgrace and I would not recommend them to anyone. They disregarded all the issues that I endured. Please do not use this company. read more

I put moving from Fresno to Stockton as a last-minute project on Yelp (my moving was cancelled and then needed at the last minute), and DW Ewing replied back quickly. Their estimate was tied for cheapest, but they were willing to work with me getting things moved the next day. They kept communications open and arrived when they said. They plastic-wrapped a few items and were careful getting them out. One man arranged the truck while two young men did most of the moving. They took about an hour to move all my stuff out from a few different rooms, and managed the heavy sofa bed easily. They arrived not long after I did at my new place and unloaded quickly. We wanted to buy two new sofas from Costco, but the store doesn't offer delivery and Costco Online was sold out of the models we wanted. Then there was the issue of what to do with the old sectional. Dan at DW Ewing Movers responded right away and was very understanding and collaborative. He quoted me a very fair price (neither lowest, nor highest of 5 bids) and suggested they could meet me at Costco to pick up the new, deliver, unpack, and assemble them, then deliver the old furniture (still attractive and in very usable condition) to Habitat for Humanity. Movers Omar & Kyle were right on time and politely, quickly and carefully completed the steps as promised. What could have been an ordeal was a very smooth and painless process. Got a quote after providing additional details of my move and they fit us in ASAP! This was a multi stop move, but it really could have taken 1 hour. At the second top, the crew somehow got lost following us to the storage unit and jumped on the freeway putting us at over an hour and raising the cost. However, your items and possessions, that they are moving, are not insured like you would think, unless you have that added. They never mentioned this, quoted it or even advised me... even after they broke two of my tv's. Instead, I was told by the movers that the owner was looking at tv's for possible replacement and then communication stopped. Later, I was contacted by their insurance company that offered $43 for two broken tv's that cost me $1300... they said they only cover 60 cents per pound. The rest of the moving experience was good but, next time, just tell people to buy extra insurance or move your own items that are valuable. read more

It depends on the team you get. I had an inefficient team and when you re paying by the hour, it adds up, they spent 30 min looking for tools they did not have to take apart furniture. they quoted me one price then on the move day told me the rate was higher for a weekend day, which they later refunded. Several pieces of furniture were not wrapped properly and were filthy on delivery. Lastly, one piece of furniture was damaged and they agreed to repair, but now still have not returned it after I contacted them on 3 separate occasions. read more

I'm never one to leave reviews but here we go. We setup a planned date initially a few days before moving and never got a confirmation until the day before the actual move at the end of February leaving us to call other companies for backups. The move went fine there after but some damages occurred from the front door light overhang glass enclosure being hit and falling onto the ground and a door being pushed open too far resulting in a hole in the wall. We figured that we were on file and having time to settle in to our new place that they would reach out to schedule a fix by their repairmen which the movers mentioned but that never happened. The move was end of February, we called on Memorial Day and spoke to a K. She said to email her pics of the damage and they'd get back to us. That never happened either. And here I am calling them back on July 11th just to be told that since the move was so long ago, it was outside of their 'jurisdiction' and that we are an hour and half away between Clovis and Visalia that they 'can't do anything'. It's funny that they can make the travel to make money but not to spend it on a simple fix for their repairmen. Why even ask for pictures just to waste my time. Did you want to see how bad the damage was so that this didn't turn into a bigger complaint issue? And I forgot to mention that I tipped them very nicely just to be treated like this. read more

Crooks that bait and switch. They will quote you one price and then claim they did not estimate correctly. Then they hold your items hostage in their storage facility unless you pay the new higher price to deliver to your home. When you refuse the extortion tactics you have to find someone else to move it from their storage to your home. They then lie to the NEW moving company to make you seem like you are a bad customer and they won't take the job or charge you a lot more because they think you are a PIA. They also marked a box damaged but then claimed they delivered said damaged box but it magically disappeared. It was full of very sentimental precious irreplaceable memento's. We just made the move to San Diego from Clovis and it was a seamless process on behalf of Donna and her movers. We initially contacted her some time ago and Donna personally came to assess our home, not one, but two times to ease our anxiety. She ensured we were prepared, answering all questions kindly and promptly. I was not present the day they came to load our home but my mother who was present had nothing but wonderful things to say about the moving team, which really emphasized for me their care, respect, and kindness. I had to move some large heavy items including a gun safe and based on reviews hired D W Ewing Movers. Donna gave me a reasonable quote over the phone and set a date and time to do the move. She called on the day of the move to let me know when their truck would be in site. Dale, Manny, Brandon, and Spencer showed up right on time. These guys were very careful in removing the safe from the closet and moving it out. They were strong moving all pieces easily and safely. Everything was unloaded at two different locations and placed where I needed them. I want to mention that Dale actually reduced the price upon completion because he said it went easier than expected. I was unaware that DW Ewing was being sold when I signed a contract for moving and storage back in December 2022. The previous owner put everything in writing and I agreed and signed everything. The move itself was very smooth, I was very pleased. I was told I would get the first month storage free (Jan 2023). I was told my storage would be $60 per month, invoiced monthly, and would not go up. I paid the $60 for Feb and $60 for March (as invoiced) and was surprised when I received a bill for $105 for the month of April. Kinda got blind sighted. I had believed that the price for storage would stay the same pursuant to previous owner. A bit disappointed that the previous owner had not been more forthcoming and upfront about his business being sold and possible significant rate increases could be coming. I am giving this review 4 stars based on the moving services I received in December of 2022. read more
