I had Venison. probably the best meat dish I've ever had in my 67 year life and I've been all over the world.

We brought a group of eight to Meadows Woodfire Grill -- my boss, his boss, an important customer, and all of our spouses -- and the entire evening was flawless from start to finish. Gray in the bar set the tone right away with a great round of drinks and friendly service. Once we were seated, Kevin took over as our server and absolutely delivered. Personable, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever hovering -- he made the night easy for all of us. Our guests came in from Vinings and Brookhaven and were blown away by the quality of the food and the ambiance. We started with the house‑special tartare, warm homemade rolls, incredible crab cakes, salads, and octopus -- every dish was fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The entrées were just as impressive. Our table had ribeyes, filets, pork chops, and scallops, and every plate was cooked perfectly. The sides were standouts too, especially the roasted carrots and the homemade gnocchi -- absolutely phenomenal. Dessert was a hit across the board, and the evening was topped off with a visit from Peril, which is always a pleasure and a great personal touch. We had family in town for a visit and were belatedly celebrating our parents' 85th and 80th birthdays. I've lived in Cumming since 2021 but never thought there would be a steakhouse there like this one! We were able to get a table for the 8 of us on the morning of, and was very excited since it was only a 7 mile drive from Windermere. Parking is a breeze, it's on the side of a strip mall on the corner of Meadow and Atlanta Hwy. It's beautiful inside. Lights were dimmed but not so much you can't see the menu or your fellow diners. Christopher was our server and he was really helpful, thorough, pleasant and absolutely friendly. My brother basically took stock of the menu and I ordered a cocktail to start. A big bottle of wine, and we were off! First off, the rolls made in house were so spectacular that I almost asked for more, even though I knew we were in for a great meal. Sea salt on top, hefty without being dense, with or without butter just delightful. Apps: both the GA and the Wedge salad to share, along with the grilled octopus and mussels. My nieces are 7 and 13, my nephew is 11 and they basically ate every last bit of the mussels. Back when I was 11 all I wanted was pizza and burgers. All of the apps were so flavorful- the mussel broth had garlic and nduja which gave it a nice kick. My regret was that I didn't take pics of these. Apologies! Entrees: most of the table got steak, whether it was filet, the American Wagyu, the ribeye. My brother ordered the chicken, I ordered the lobster bucatini and two scallops on the side. My niece had the gnocchi side as her entree. Sides: gnocchi with shittaki mushrooms, duck fat fried potatoes, grits, and asparagus. The gnocchi is a MUST, but the grits and others were close behind. For dessert: chocolate soufflé, bread pudding made in house with ice cream, a cappuccino creme brûlée, and for their birthdays a small individual passion fruit panna cotta for my parents. What a beautiful touch. I would put this place in with all the known steakhouses, service was unmatched, food was excellent and we didn't have to drive 35 miles to Buckhead or Midtown. Hats off to the team here, from the hostess who checked in on us, our server Christopher, to the team in the kitchen. I walked by the bar to use the restroom and it had no empty seats. This review once again is LONG OVERDUE!! I apologize to the owner because we had a FABULOUS meal and experience. We were given a gift certificate by our realtor last year and waited for a special occasion since we were told it is pricey. Valentines seemed like the perfect time and it was! Made reservations several weeks before opting for the 13th of February and at 5 pm in hopes of avoiding the crowd. It worked. We arrived and were seated promptly in what they call the Al Capone booth which was for two and tucked towards the back wall which was cozy and private except much later the table across from us which looks out toward the table we were at, 4 people were seated. It wasn't a big deal as they were busy talking with their group. Our waiter was Jason (I hope I'm remembering his name correctly) and he told us he was fairly new. Great waiter, engaging with us, gave us excellent tips on the food choices, how things were cooked especially the steaks, which cuts would be best for us according to our tastes, very attentive our entire meal, didn't rush us through our meal and told us what to expect with the dishes we chose. Now we share our meals and opted for a 16 oz steak which my husband finished his half and I brought 1/2 of my 1/2 home along with much of our side dishes. I guess that means each side comes with a lot of food. We ordered the sweet potatoes,which was incredibly delicious, nice and soft on the inside and a bit crunchy on the outside. They have a caramel flavor bc of caramelized. Oh sooo scrumptious. The asparagus were nice a large and once again the flavor on them were delish!! Our steak came out on a plate by itself bc Jason said the chef likes to show the beauty of it. I agree, simple, but the steak on its own looked grand. It was cooked to perfection, so juicy and packed with flavor. It melted in our mouth. Worth every cent. The mushrooms along with the sauce flavor we chose were a perfect combo with our steak. The steak on its own was amazing but the mushrooms were delicious with the steak. The incredible rolls they serve are to die for. Light, fluffy and down right a perfect accompaniment to our dinner. My husband enjoyed his wine choice with Jason's recommendation. I had Jason take back my Lemon Drop Martini because it wasn't to my taste, just a bit boozier than I enjoy. The second time was much better. The manager Peril came to our table and introduced himself. Told us about the history of his restaurant and was a kind man. We talked with him about being from CA. Also how his restaurant being located in an area you'd never imagine having such a great restaurant would be was awesome. It's in this small strip mall right off Meadow Drive amongst other small shops. Not very grand looking on the outside but very nice and lovely inside. Very intimate feeling in the booths. I did notice they have a small bar area which was packed as well as small tables in the area. The parking lot is not very large with some handicap parking spots. Quite large inside with outdoor seating within a tent covered area with windows. We definitely will visit again, on another special occasion. Hello! My husband and I visited for the first time for our anniversary and I have to say the food far outweighed the service. I understand wanting to sell a dish and or offer a little description but our waiter (from New York) was by far way too comfortable and chatty for this to be an intimate upscale dining experience. He dapped us at the end our meal which honestly as insulting. This is not a bar or a pub. The cost of the food also didn't match the attire of the staff. To see jeans on a waiter when I'm paying $70 for a steak or $300 for my total meal while really good doesn't align to the overall experience. You offer caviar and I saw a guest in athletic wear. I think change your offerings to align with a more casual vibe or go full force and actually have it feel upscale. Again the food was good but overall the experience was not worth a return. read more

You wouldn't expect a place this polished to be tucked into a strip mall alongside a chiropractor and hair salon, but Meadow Woodfire Grill delivers the upscale steakhouse vibe the moment you walk in. A mix of cozy booths, large tables, walls of wine, and clean decor makes this a great spot for a romantic night out. We haven't sat outside yet, but they've got a sizable patio that looks promising. I haven't had a disappointing meal yet. Starting with the steaks: the ribeye and filet were amazing (and don't worry about taking some home because they reheat very well). They also look very lonely on the plate, so don't skip the sides. The grilled asparagus is a real winner. In all the best ways possible, the burning wood scent emanating from every bite reminded me of times I went camping and cooked over a fire pit grill. They also nailed it with the new pork belly appetizer. It was so flavorful and delicious that I ended up devouring the garnishes with it! If you want some surf instead of turf, the fish options are fabulous as well. I always steal a bite or two from my wife's plate (for Yelp Research purposes, of course). Service is a strong point here too. Kevin, our waiter, was genuinely friendly and funny. He clearly knows the menu inside and out and seems to be making a name for himself on all the reviews. It's well deserved. Honestly, the only downside to this place is that the high prices (notably on their steaks) keep us from visiting more often, so this has been reserved for special nights out. read more

Gray is an amazing bartender. He is knowledgeable when it comes to drinks. We usually sit at the bar when we come in. The beef carpaccio is delicious. We have also had the cola short ribs special which were tender, falling off the bone and flavorful. This place is a hidden gem in Cumming. If you don't try it, you are absolutely missing out! We have been here a total of 4 times and waited to post a review to make sure it is a consistent good experience. The staff and manager are always so friendly and nice and I will say they do start to remember you if you come often which is nice for we are wanting to find a local food steal place for our date nights and not always drive far and so far this place is filling that need. Everything we have had has been very good and tasty. The wedge salad is a favorite of ours and the Parker house rolls they give you are always light and delightful. My husband loves the roasted carrots side and we always have to have those. We have tried the creamy potato's and they have to be one of the smoothest mashed potatoes ever. We tried the gnocchi and that took was rich, creamy and wonderful, but a little heavy to me if I am having steak. Three times we ordered the porterhouse and two times it was cooked incorrectly but the staff was kind and willing to correct it, but we ate it anyways it had good flavor. It's a Longhorn quality meal (slightly better maybe) at a Cattle Shed price point. We just dined at Meadow for the fourth time since it opened. We have always enjoyed our food and our experiences, but ...wow! Meadow has just hired a new head chef (started two weeks ago, I think we were told) and it's a game changer! This chef is so talented. Dishes we've ordered before were far better than they had been and the new things we tried were just spectacular. The beat salad was delicious and dressed so well! The rib-eye was tender and cooked to perfection. The gnocchi is even better than the other times we've ordered: pillowy soft with a nice crusty exterior and so flavorful. The greens were new with delicious smoky meats - we will for sure order them again. The biggest surprise was the salmon: crispy skin, with tender, flaky meat. It is served with roasted carrots and the petite peas, both expertly seasoned and topped with fresh herbs. Just an absolutely amazing dish and the most beautifully composed plate. Our drinks both before and after dinner were well-crafted and the service was excellent. Finally, dessert did not disappoint and we enjoyed the music too. The apps and wine list are exceptional for the area. Service was adequate but not as attentive as most restaurants in this price point. My biggest issue was preparation of the steak. The 32 oz porterhouse, ordered medium, came out overcooked on a cold plate. Why any steak restaurant serves 100$ plus steaks on cold plates defies logic. To be a serious steakhouse contender please learn how to properly plate and prepare a steak to the correct temperature. read more

We had my dad's 90th birthday party here. I'm super impressed with this establishment. It is a nice restaurant (perfect for a special, romantic dinner), but they gave us the covered patio so we could have a good time celebrating my dad. The food was outstanding, good portions, and worth the price (our party had steak, pork chops, chicken, several sides, and the Georgia Lettuces salad--all great!) Service was incredible as well--from talking to management to arrange the party to the table service from Chris. All were hospitable and accommodating. Based on my experience. I went for the first time for the 16oz ribeye. $68. It had gristle thru it. Not entirely, but enough to keep me and my wife from going back. A ribeye from Publix is better than theirs. To keep is simple, I didn't complain, ate some, took the rest home and tossed it. Popped in from Savannah for a brunch with friends. Paril the host was so nice and gracious. Our server Carrie was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was so good! We had the omelet (delicious), French toast, chorizos and potato's, and "the regular" breakfast. A person in our party was vegetarian and they switched out the meat in the breakfast for potatoes. This is coming from someone who ate at restaurants recommended by Anthony bourdaine in Paris. Some of the best food I have had. The service is on par and very attentive. Even placed my napkin on my lap for me. Perfect lighting and doesn't feel chaotic. Second time I've come in the last year and always the biggest look forward to. We heard this restaurant open and we couldn't wait to try a local steakhouse in the area. We had the octopus appetizer which was amazing. I would love to go back and have that again. We had a fillet and my husband had the ribeye kids had burgers, but I don't think that's on the menu anymore. I think this is a very nice intimate place to go when you want a more upscale dining experience. Have a great steak close to home. I don't have to drive to Atlanta. We will be back back to try the gnocchi. I was on a special diet and decided not to get that and instead we got vegetable, but it was all amazing. !!! The food was delicious, and the service was terrific. My only comment would be that the steaks are really pricey--the small filet was like $95. Bone in ribeye like $150!
