When we sat at the table, the person working on my child said to me, "she won't let me cut". Yes, the six year old spoke up and didn't want her nails clipped. Filing little nails is complete reasonable and a decision which makes perfect if it makes the customer comfortable. Best part of a manicure is getting her nails filed. Add to the fact, clipping was not needed. This woman was very surprised a child had the ability to speak up for herself. The person working on me proceeded to "clip a hangnail" and cut off a large amount of skin from on two fingers. It took weeks for the pain to go away. When I pulled my hand back from the pain, she cleared huffed again after hurting me and making the side of my finger it was cut so low. This was the end of the worst manicure ever. If you're going for nail services it's in the back. It's dark. The chairs and footbowls are black and red and they look worn. They don't use the liners either. I would have walked out but I left work late and they were the only place open at that time and I needed to get my nails done that evening. Also, I want to say upfront that there was a bit of a language barrier, which may have led to some confusion. I asked for a regular pedicure. When I arrived the lady tried to give me a manicure. No. Just a pedicure. I sat in the chair. She brought me the rings with the polish colors. I picked one out. It wasn't until she brought out the uv light that I realized she brought me the gel colors. I repeated--I wanted a REGULAR pedicure. Mind you, she hasn't painted anything yet. She brings back another set of rings. The colors aren't quite the same. I asked if maybe we could layer 2 colors to get the same effect as the color I originally picked. She said yes. She brought them back. I told her to try it on ONE toe to see if it would come out like we hoped. She tried to do all and I stopped her before she moved on. No--just ONE first. She looked frustrated. Oh well. It clearly made no sense to paint them all. So she waited for the bottom color to dry and painted the other color on top. (Again just on ONE test toe). I'm glad I told her to wait because it looked muddy and horrible. At this point I was like, "please get me some paper slippers and I'll get up and find a color I like". She did and I did. Again--thus far she has only painted a single test toe. I found a color and she painted the rest. I got my eyebrows done and the sign said $5 eyebrows. A different lady did them. She asked if I wanted razor or wax. I said wax. (The job wasn't great but I could fix it later) I went to pay and the total was $10 more than I expected. Apparently the eyebrows were $10 for wax instead of $5 for razor. There was no sign that said that and the lady never disclosed that. I was ticked, but $10 for wax is standard so whatever. Then where's the other extra $5? They said "oh the other lady said you made her change your nail polish 3 times." So now I'm getting charged extra for CHOOSING the color before she painted my nails??!That's insane. They kept saying that that's what she told them and she already left so there's nothing they could do. Nope! I refused to pay it. They finally agreed to let me pay the price I initially agreed to pay. I don't like the secret pricing--be upfront. And I certainly didn't like the lady trying to charge me extra for LOOKING AT different colors. That's ridiculous. Also I mentioned the language issue. I personally understand Spanish well but can't speak it very well. I heard her complaining earlier about me, but hey, I told her from the beginning that I wanted a regular pedicure. Why bring me gel colors? She was either going to try to upcharge me or deceive me because she thought I would just go along with it. I know a lot of ppl who have had it happen to them. She's mad because I was the wrong one! In the end my nails were painted a color I didn't like as much, because outside of the gel colors, their selections are poor. But my nails were done. I'll never go back there again, though.
