I am not one to write reviews, but I used to go here for years before they sold to new owners. I tried them several different times and found a lot of inconsistancy with techs. My usual girl was not available and I decided after some time away to give them a shot again since I am getting married this weekend and needed a fresh set. They looked so confused when I asked for French and after much back and forth I settled for ombré. I even showed an exact picture. My appointment was at 5pm and i sat and waited until 530 before someone came over to start my tips. They gave me a new girl who spoke no English and was training. I had two different people doing my nails (one trying to help the woman that didn't know what to do). She initially used the wrong tips on my nails (ones for gels, I was getting acrylics) they actually looked like they scooped up.. the guy came over and seen how terrible and told her to remove them and told her which tips to use.. once the tips were redone and acrylic started she was so confused and eventually guy came over and finished the acrylic. I actually asked him if he could make them a little thicker and not narrow I didn't want pointy witchy nails and to my surprise he did just that ... but on ONE HAND! at this point it was almost 7pm and I have never taken this long for a full set in my life i just wanted to leave. My fiancé was with me and couldn't believe my hands.. I got in the car and it is literally two different sets on both hands! we are talking two different style hands! not even close! After paying almost $100 for this and constantly telling them i was getting married, they didn't care at all! I left in tears and not to mention my nails are in pain because of the drilling on my natural nails to remove the mistake from the first set! I will Never go back here or recommend anyone else! I try and give this salon a chance every year, and each year they fail miserably. this year I went on my birthday. the women that did my pedicure didn't understand me at all and was completely new. my nail was crooked, and I tried explaining to the other lady shadowing her but all she did was smile and laugh. I finally told the "manager" and he was very rough and irritated that I spoke up. it came time to do my nails with a new set and they completely botched my nails. I was already stressed from my pedicure that I checked out. I left and called and asked them fix them which they agreed. the women that fixed the nails even said the shape was VERY bulky and not shaped properly. They made me pay an additional $35 In total for a pedicure and new set I paid $160 and Their customer service and work is trash. read more

I went here to get a full set and a pedicure for my birthday and have never experienced such a painful pedicure in my life that has left me with cuts on my toes and me flinching in the chair when getting my pedicure. I told her that she was hurting me and she continued to literally pluck my skin away and hurt me even more leaving me with more cuts on my toes. Only giving two stars because there are very talented people like Kevin and Andy, but last nights experience was terrible. They gave me an appt for 6 and didn't put me in a chair until 6:58 so the guy doing me rushed the entire time. He made my nails so short and none of the lengths match up. My smiley faces are all messed up and when he couldn't do a design he just covered it with a french tip that came all the way down to the middle of my nail bed. It was now 8 when he finished and i said im not paying full price the lady told me she waited an hour extra for me, as if it's my fault they sat me at 7 and that she'd only take off 5$ ok 80$ nails. I don't usually get my nails done and i don't usually write reviews but i just really felt i needed to get this down. my friend recommended top to me when i wanted to get my nails done for prom. i made an appointment and ended up waiting an extra hour regardless. the price listed for a gel mani pedi was 60$ i thought that was steep but i didn't question it because i'm a deer in the headlights and i'm scared of conflict. i pick my color from the box and they get to work. that was fine other then the uncomfortable lack of eye contact and conversation of any kind. turns out i got a luster (i did not know what that meant) which was an extra 10$ per appendage -- brought it up to 100$. i would not have gotten it if i had known. i tried to argue a little that i did not know but i ultimately pussyed out of the conversation and paid on my card. turns out if you don't select the no tip button it automatically puts a 20% tip. i paid 120$ for a 60$ mani pedi. i ultimately went back to the store later in the day and asked for a refund on the tip. i still feel ripped off though. my nails didn't last even a month, the customer service was awful, and my nails were bumpy and lack luster (i don't think they put on enough of the powder maybe i don't know) i'm typing this out because i went to Zen spa and nails in stamford to get the gel off and it was a MUCH better experience. with something to compare top to i realized just how awful it was. thank you for reading my essay :) read more

I've been to this nail salon twice & would highly recommend for anyone who does any type of artificial nail set (i.e. acrylic, dip powder, UV gel etc). I was a bit of an annoying customer though the first time because the gentleman who did my ombré set didn't pick the right color from the picture I had shown, but nick was incredibly helpful in narrowing it down & the gentleman did an absolutely amazing job & was very patient & professional with me. I went back to him for my second fill which was completely different, going to short & square when I had just had long coffin nails & he did an amazing job. So I came for an appointment at 4 PM with Nick the Owner and wasn't attended for my nails until about 5 PM i was told it would be "15 minutes" and i was also told "appointments are never on-time" after i asked numerous times how delayed he would be and i never got a response. im not sure what the purpose of taking my appointment was. when i asked to get my nails done with someone else Nick the Owner was suddenly "finishing up" after about another 15 minutes (5:15) it was my turn in the chair. When i started to tell Nick how unfair it was that i was waiting for an hour he continued to tell me he is never on time with his appointments because he has so many. i understand things happen but when i told him its unfair making people wait an hour after their appointment without any notice or atleast telling them to come back he got angry and said "You know what i dont want to do your nails. Get the f**k out of here." and walked away. Very UNProfessional NICK (OWNER). Absolute DISGUSTING customer service. They also had too many people which definitely was against covid restrictions and one man was doing someones nails without a mask (definitely against covid restrictions). I will never be back here. I repeatedly told the nail tech that I didn't want acrylics yet he started shaping and filing my nails for acrylics so again I said no acrylics right and he said no while this was happening the shop was a mess they messed up another ladies appointment and it was complete chaos. Then he comes back with acrylics attempting to put them on my nails and now I'm pissed I'm about to go on vacation and my nails look like toes because they're so short. I didn't proceed with the original idea I had and just decided to do a plain white mani. Then when I went to pay the lady checking me out goes tip on card? And I said no and she goes ok cash tip and I said no I wasn't happy with the service. A tip is for excellent service and not only was the service horrible but it was not a relaxing environment to be in. She proceeded to hold my card as I proceeded to ask her to just charge me so I could leave and after going back and forth about it and wasting my time and her yelling at me!!! I have never written a review ever in my life for anything -- so that just attests to how upset I am. I went to top nail bar a couple weeks ago with an appointment at 11:30. I thought I'd try this place out because my friend went and had a good experience. I got there at at 11:20 with hopes they'd take me early but sat there waiting until almost 12. Finally, someone brought me over to a table and started to remove my gel, this is where the nightmare began. He buffed the gel almost all the way off before putting on the acetone with the foil. After that. He buffed again until my nail was paper thin. It's also important to note he kept messing with the buffer like he had never used it before. After 25 minutes of him removing my gel improperly (hurting me multiple times with the machine) he then started to cut my cuticles with what looked like a used cuticle cutter.The first two fingers he did he cut my skin. After that I was done, asked him to stop doing my nails because I wanted to leave. I spoke with who I assume was the manager who let me leave. My nails were scratched up, thin, and swollen from the cuticle cutter. I dealt with a sore thumb and pointed finger for a week and my nails are still suffering. Look at the image to see the nail regrowth from the whole disaster. You can see how thin he shaved down my nail compared to the regrowth. The salon is not what I would call clean and NO Covid protocols were followed: No plastic between stations, no plastic between client and staff, mask wearing was iffy by staff, stations were not sanitized between clients, staff did not wash their hands between clients. I had to ask the staff person doing my nails to wash his hands after removing his mask to wipe his nose during my manicure. I've been going to top nail bar for the last few times I've been doing my nails. The first several times were great but my last time was TERRIBLE. I had told a friend to give them a try and she later told me that they told her that the design she brought was too difficult and then proceeded to charge extra because her nails were slightly longer albeit her own. I thought this was a fluke and that maybe she went at the wrong time. I was wrong. I made an appointment for myself and my friend for sns with design and a pedicure. After arriving at my exact time to an overly crowded salon, they finally started our pedicures a half hour late. I then proceeded to wait another half hour or so to start the soaking portion of removing my previous SNS that they had done. My appointment was for 12 and they did not start on my nails until 1:30 or so. The woman who had done my nails this time had also done them before so I figured she'd do well. I was wrong again. Her lack of care and attention to my nails was ridiculous and the amount she would get up or get distracted was concerning. I understand she may have been overbooked as if seems the salon is understaffed for the high volume of customers they get but this was ridiculous. I finished at 2 or so and already knew my nails were not what I had wanted. She did a terrible job shaping and didn't pay any attention to being consistent with the french tips I had asked for. It's as though every finger belongs to a different hand. As a whole, to then be charged $85 to wait 2+ hours for just myself, let alone my friend not having her nails done until 4 hours after our original appointment time, is disgusting. My nails have already started to chip and look tarnished and it is only 4 days later with little to no true exposure to something that would damage them. I normally do not ask for refunds but I am so upset and disappointed that I plan on calling to ask for a partial refund. I refuse to return until they do quality control and manage the amount of customers they book within a time frame. I love some of the employees but the lack of care for the quality they send out apart from the customers seen by the two owners is not only disappointing but equally disgusting. The place was really nice very clean spacious and everybody was extremely friendly. I came in wanting a fill broke 3 nails and half of my natural nail ripped off. The girl who did my nails was super gentle. I also got a pedicure which was nice. All the tools were fresh, everybody wore gloves and the seats were extremely comfortable. I paid about 80 with tip. Unfortunately it's hasn't been a week yet and my gel polish is peeling and it looks like I need a new fill again. As much as I enjoyed my time I dont think I'll be coming back. read more
