I had received a gift card for a manicure and pedicure that was already taxed at the time of purchase. When I redeemed it, I chose a gel manicure and was charged tax again on the same gift card, with no credit for the tax already paid. Even if the service changed, taxing the same dollars twice doesn't seem correct. The service itself was fine, but the billing practice was disappointing and confusing. Be careful when using gift cards here, we should not be getting charged taxes until the service has been provided. They insisted they did nothing wrong by charging me tax twice. I usually come to the salon once a month foe a pedicure. My last experience was not ideal. The girl forgot a part of the pedicure,(which was later done after speaking to another employee who could understand.) It felt rushed, and it wasn't as relaxing as previous times. Cousin took me here while I was visiting her. It's a nice salon. Spacious and clean. Service is pretty good. Huge variety of polish. I got a regular mani which was done pretty well. I usually do my own mani cuz no one gets it right. I'd say she lived up to my standards. I added a 10-min massage for $10. It was pretty good. I thought he tried to do too much in 10 minutes. Tried 0 stars but wouldn't post. I have very strong nails, I usually go to a great place which I won't disclose as it's difficult enough to get an appointment. They are on vacation so I couldn't go for my regular gel mani. The male tattooed manicurist was so abrasive removing the gel with his "nail pusher" that it hurt and I had to stop him. He then proceeded to drill the gel off. I didn't think it was going to well but I was scared to say anything. Anyway, he ruined my once healthy nails and they all got thin and peeled off. Just avoid this place entirely! read more

Amazing customer service and quality type of place! I really enjoy going to Luxe, they are meticulous, clean and friendly. I've gotten pedicures, regular and gel manicures, SNS, UV Gel extensions and back massages. I usually call ahead or make an appointment so I don't have to wait. They have a large selection of nail polish colors and brands like Color Club, OPI, Essie, CND Shellac and Vinylux, etc. If you have a fave regular polish color and you are switching to gel then just ask them which one is the closest to your favorite one and they usually find a perfect or near-perfect match! One thing I really like is they are focused on the service they're providing you with and don't talk about you in a different language. When the employees do talk in front of you is in English unless they're explaining something to a trainee. I also like the Frequent service card which gives me $10 off after the 10th service and around the the holidays they give you a $10 gift certificate to use until end of March. There is usually plenty of parking in the shopping center where it's located. I highly recommend Luxe! read more

I figured I'll go to get my nails done in a place close to work just out of convenience. Well convenience cost me $15 than if I would of just have had my nails done by my house. Place is a total rip off. $30 for gel when everywhere else is $25. Can add tío to your bill if you don't have cash so they make you take money out of their very inconvenient atm machine and charge you $1.75 for a minimum of $20. The when you do the tip they expect a minimum of $5 per person. Ridiculous will never come back read more

This place is pretty awful. We came for the first time and would not return. The ladies that did our pedicure and manicure were very rushed despite there being nobody waiting. It was 10 minutes max for each service. They didn't speak, other than to each other nonstop, and just grunted when they wanted you to do something. It was not relaxing at all and they did a terrible job. My nails are shorter, yes, but I can't say anything better than that. Lots of other options nearby! read more

PLEASE READ! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I don't even know what I just paid for...This is my 4th or 5th time coming here and they do an OK job, I mainly come here because it's convenient and near my work, however, I won't be back after today. Each time they've done my nails they don't really listen to what I want, they more so do what they think will look good (not to mention one time I asked for my nails to be filed "coffin" shaped and she wasn't doing what I had asked so I literally asked to see the nail file myself and I had to file them. They're super expensive, I once paid $90 for tips (???). They were well done but I've gone to other places that do just as well if not better for cheaper. This time I went in to get my gel off and a new gel color put on. JUST TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT SHE DID (see photo). I'm literally about to soak my nails in acetone when I get home to remove this because this is SO embarrassing I can't walk around with my nails looking like that and I don't understand how she thought it was OK for me to leave with them looking as they do. So if anyone has any recommendations for Nail places near High Ridge Road in Stamford that offer decently priced gel manicures that actually come out well please let me know :) Another awful experience I have had here before is when I came in to get my acrylics off. I had asked her to take my acrylics off and then I wanted gel on top of my natural nail. She said she couldn't do that because it would take too much time to file off the acrylic, so she proceeded to file off what she could (or what she wanted to) and then put gel over the rest, leaving my manicure uneven AND STILL WITH PIECES OF ACRYLIC IN IT!!!!!!! I don't know why I came back but I will definitely be picking quality over convenience next time and I have learned my lesson. read more

I used to love this place, but I went again this weekend and now I don't think it's worth going back. Everyone was friendly and I was a walk-in and was immediately told that I could pick out my polish. I appreciate that! However, once I sat in my chair for a pedicure, the entire pedi was completely rushed. She zoomed through everything, no attention to detail, she was looking everywhere else rather than at the pedicure in front of her. The polish was done well, but the pedicure didn't feel relaxing at all. I then got a manicure and it was the same thing. I felt rushed, she didn't look at my nails, just everywhere else, the filing was good, but the nails were still in need of a buff before it was time to polish. She also didn't do a great job with some of the polish here. Not happy with this type of rushing and if you take care of customers, they will come back. First I picked out a color and for whatever reason she really didn't want me to have that color so she kept painting other colors on my nails after I said multiple time no thank you I want the color I picked out. I recently moved to Stamford and needed to get my nails done before a work trip. I went in on a Saturday and got a new full set of UV Gel Nails- I spent $80.00 in total, including a $10 tip. Within 12 hours of leaving, two had lifted, within 2 days, I lost two full nails. I called and they said they would "fix", I explained that I was away on business until 2/8 and wouldn't be back until then. They said no problem. I called today 2/2 to schedule an appointment after I lost another nail and they said they would not honor a new set. I have NEVER had such a terrible job done on my nails- I cannot BELIEVE I paid so much for such terrible work. I currently am away on work and had to spend $10 on nail glue to temporarily hold what nails I have left. It hasn't been even a week and every nail that's left has been REGLUED ON BY ME. I love coming to Luxe Nail to get my gel manicure refreshed; Sophia is excellent and always has color and style suggestions to help me when I'm stuck. This is one of the few places in the area that I know of that has technicians who can do almond/stiletto nail style outside of NYC. I have tried around 5 different nail places in Stamford. Finally, I found one I like! I come here frequently for gel/regular manicures and pedicures and I have yet to have a bad experience. Unlike other places I have tried, I have never had to wait, they actually cut my cuticles and I am pleased with the shape they file/cut my nails. They really seem to take their time when doing your nails and are very accommodating and receptive to any feedback or requests. Went in for a mani pedi today and i will NOT be returning. Amy did my nails and she rushed the whole time. She was talking to another technician not even looking at my nails and forgot to do a top coat on my pedicure!! She then did an extremely rushed manicure which took all of 6 minutes and did not get the sides of my nails. I asked her to fix the sides and she just pretended not to hear me. For 35 dollars, I should be getting a much better deal. It really depends who you get here, but I will not be coming back. read more

TOTAL RIP OFF!! This was my second time coming to this salon. The first time the pedicure was just ok, then I received a UV gel filling and asked for French so she painted the white tip with white nail polish and charged me $60!!! I've been doing my nails for 10 years and never paid $60 for just a filling with nail polish painted on top. Total rip off!!! I came for just a pedicure a few weeks after because I said to myself I would never do my nails there again. The woman managed to do a pedicure in literally 15 minutes and rushed me, didn't take her time to do anything, worst job ever. Never going back again! read more

This was my second time there, i have heard good things about this place first time i went they were very busy i only got a massage to kill Time in between appts and got powder gel, they were very stingy and rude, also tried to tell me to get the more expensive way to do my nails and longer time for more $$$. I went back today with a friend not knowing if i wanted powder again or regular gel (I've been getting gel for 3 year) so while my color was being taken off i was talking to my friend trying to decide the girl doing my nails buts in and tells me powder because it's better and more $$. I told her then that i wanted gel with the tips so my actual nails wouldn't crack in half, i could tell she got annoyed and she continued talking about it to the girl doing my friends nails. She didn't put the tips on like i asked and at that point i just wanted to get out, my friend lady cut my friend nail in half after my friend told her she liked the length of her nails and the lady told her she needs to "redo them" my friend then had to pay $55 because the lady put new tips on when my friends tips were already perfectly fine. Not to mention they charged me and extra $5 for fixing my pinky nail. I paid more than $100 for the both of us my nails were only supposed to be $35 and my friends nails were only supposed to be $45 (i asked about the prices before i chose which one i wanted) after leaving the nail salon i did the calculations and they charged my friend $55 and me $45, i would've done this before but the girl did not tell me the pricing of what she put before taking my card I even asked how much it is total. I don't usually write reviews for anywhere but this just bothered me a lot I've never experienced this in my years of going to a nail salon. Two of my nails are now broken and I'm out more than $100 and my friend was not happy with her results. Don't think we will be back unless they redo our nails for free read more

If you cut someones toe nail to the point of it bleeding, so much so that pressure had to be applied there should be some kind of apology. Even when brought to there attention that it should not have happened there was still no apology nor acknowledgement of any wrong doing.
