Outside of the many classes offered, the gym if available at any time during business hours. They provide a different workout every day.

I have been cyber stalking this gym for over a year, since they opened. Admittedly, I was too intimidated to go in at that time, though I really wanted to. That was a huge mistake. I should have joined a year ago.... I've been coming here for 6 weeks now, and from day one everyone has been extremely kind, helpful and exceptionally welcoming. The coaches are exceedingly knowledgeable in all aspects of their sport, including nutrition, and are excited to share it with anyone, at any level. They are super supportive and very patient. The other members are super nice and willing to help you out with pointers, or even just moral support. This gym is very much a family, who support one another. You'll find that we all come from different walks of life with different jobs/careers, different cultures and different backgrounds. It doesn't matter where you come from, or what kind of shape you are in. If you are willing to work hard, you will fit in here, 100% guaranteed. **FOR WOMEN: Though all of the classes help you get in shape, and learn to fight, the women's self defense classes are invaluable. There is a membership option for just the women's self defense, if that's all you are interested in. Please come and bring your mothers, sisters and daughters (teenager and above). Every women should be in this series.**

First, I want people to know that this is a none bias review. I am honest and only state the facts from my perspective. I have traveled around in DFW looking for the right place for me to learn martial arts or MMA. Most of what I have found is that most martial arts gyms/schools have many different styles to offer, however, they are all on bags or dummies. Also, you learn different styles but never connect them together. Many times I felt the coaches at the other schools were not watching us or correcting our forms (There were just there because they had to be), so to me it feels just like they were just cardio classes. Secondly, I didn't see much live sparring or human to human interaction or practices, which to me is impractical, especially if you are trying to become a fighter. At Mcweeney Martial Arts you will get the REAL deal! You don't have to be fighter to join, you can go just for health reason or for fitness reasons. The gym itself has two large padded mats, many punching bags, treadmills, dumbbells, bench/squat sets, weighted sleds, large flipping tires, rope climbing, boxing ring, and much more. What's great about this school is the coaches and people that attend. When you come by you see a variety and diversity of people (all ages), both men and women. There are so many available classes available for you to train from Monday through Saturday. Even if there are no classes available you can still come by to lift or work on the bag. Also, they have new classes available dedicated to those who are just starting for both ju jitsu and Dutch Kick boxing. On Saturdays they have a self defense class dedicated to women only (sorry guys! Lol) The school covers Dutch kick boxing, wrestling, gi ju jitsu and no gi ju jitsu, strength and conditioning, HIIT workouts, health and nutrition, and much more! Every training session is different. Some days we work on form and technicalities, some days we work on combos, other days we will dedicate to only kicks. There are also classes dedicated to kids to help build self esteem, confidence, and fight against those who bully. I'm not going to lie, these classes are brutal even for me and I'm a seasoned personal trainer. I have never felt more excited to show to these classes! For me it's like a love and hate relationship. I hate it because it's tough and wears me down, but at the same time I LOVE it because of the feeling it gives me when I finish the class. I noticed that as I got better (because I show up often) I enjoy these training and session more and more. It's like a "Me" time. My stress reliever from all the troubles in my world. At Mcsweeney's Martial Arts you will have the opportunity to spar with other students in a very controlled environment. Again, if you are not wanting to be a fighter you are not required to do so or you may spar at your own level or pace. This training allows us to build our endurance, strength, and conditions our body to be ready for competitions/fights or just more energy throughout the day in general. In our sparring we do what's call "Technical Sparring", which means that we are not going all full out like it was Fight Night. Instead, we do it in movements so that it allows us to learn from their mistakes without injury ( Many time it's step by step) Both for the aggressor and defender. NOTE: All martial arts/ MMA is a combat sport, so there will be contact! For those who have previous injuries or health issues just let the coach know and they will adjust your training or workout to your needs. The beauty of this school is that there is always a coach monitoring us and it is all done is a safe and controlled environment. All the coaches, James Mcsweeney, Joe, Obi, and Cameron are all experienced and in shape fighters that bring us years and years of experience in the field we are learning. You will not find an out of shaped teacher trying to teach any of these classes! Another difference from Mcsweeney Martial Arts is that they throw events like #FightLikeaPro where we take people who has never trained and train them for 6 weeks with a fight at the end of the program. Also, no other gyms bring seminars. Small notes: The gym is Covid compliant, organized, and the cleanest bathrooms I have seen ( I can not comment for the women's bathroom since I have never been in there, but I am sure they are on the same level as the male bathroom) Everyone at the gym are all very friendly and willing to share their knowledge or train with you as long as you ask, so if you are looking for a real MMA gym that will give you the results (as long as you are putting in 100% every time you show up) you are looking for! Bottom line is... Is it tough? Yes. Will you sweat up a lake? Yes. Will you see results. Yes. Will you die? Hell no (And for those who are so literal that was a joke lol) All I know is that if you don't get anything out of these classes you will definitely get some abs from Mcsweeney's ab training.

    Class schedule

I just moved to Plano and was looking to find an mma gym that would push me but also provide an encouraging environment like my old gym. From the moment I walked in the door these people treated me like family. Coach Mcsweeney has been really helpful with correcting my form and also explaining the importance behind these corrections. I had been training for a couple years prior, but never really paid attention to the practicality behind my movements. Mcsweeney emphasizes the importance behind not swinging blindly or mimicking for the sake of looking like others. It's a very mindful way of fighting which I never thought about before. I'm really happy I found this place! If you are interested in growing as a fighter or just getting fit in general, Mcsweeney Martial Arts is definitely the place to be.

WARNING about cancellation and billing at EōS Fitness…read more If you are thinking about joining this gym, please read this first. My experience trying to cancel my membership has been unbelievably frustrating and feels designed to make cancellation nearly impossible. When I attempted to cancel, I was told that I could not cancel unless I paid a renewal fee that had not even come due yet. In other words, I would have to pay a future renewal fee just to stop my membership. That made absolutely no sense. Because of this, I went into the gym in person to resolve the issue. I spoke directly with the General Manager, Chris Marriotti, explained the billing situation, and told him that I had been unable to cancel my membership properly. He told me that both my wife's membership and my membership were canceled and that everything was taken care of. Unfortunately, that was not true. Despite being told in person by the general manager that the memberships were canceled, the gym continues to charge the account and has now even added late fees. The memberships still appear to be active even though we were told everything had been handled. So now I am dealing with charges, late fees, and a membership that was supposed to already be canceled by management. This has been an extremely frustrating experience. When a customer goes in person, speaks to the general manager, and is told everything is resolved, that should be the end of it. Instead, it has turned into an ongoing billing issue. If you are considering joining this gym, I strongly recommend reading the contract very carefully and understanding exactly how their cancellation process works before signing anything.

After grabbing some weights and equipment for the class, I got started. I liked the blend of yoga, bar and aerobic exercises, and more tension-based exercises with the core. Keeps things more interesting with the variety of movements. I had a substitute instructor who was overall great and very encouraging. She really pushed us because she would often count down for some exercises which would make me think we would be done after that, but then she would lead us right into another exercise using the same muscles so you wouldn't get a break! Overall a great opportunity to be challenged with a full body workout! I would definitely go back if price wasn't a barrier for me personally. It was…read morea Monday and the gym was super packed, and we did have trouble finding empty equipment to use. However, I felt super motivated when doing cardio here because everyone around me looked so fit which made me keep going. I also tried doing some free weights. It's going to be challenging to make the gym a habit for me but I really enjoy the vibe here. One thing to note is that we noticed the West Plano location is open 24 hours on weekdays, but this location is not. They also don't have a Crunch-O-Meter tracker on the app to check how busy the gym is. Maybe that will come with future updates as the gym gets bigger. ---------------------- After my recent terrible experience as a potential member at 24 Hour Fitness in East Plano, I felt unmotivated to sign up for a gym with my friends. However, one friend has been searching for a new gym since he recently moved to Texas, so we decided to check out Crunch Fitness. I must say, I was amazed by the giant facility. We toured a few gyms this week to compare amenities, and Crunch Fitness has everything the others offer, and MUCH MORE. My friends enjoy lifting weights, and the other gyms in the area have only a couple of racks or are too expensive for our budget. Crunch Fitness has SO MANY racks, free weights, and different sections that focus on various workout interests. Their cardio section look nice, and I love the butt working section! The amenities that stood out to me the most were the ride cycle classes and hot yoga. Those weren't offered at other nearby gyms, so seeing them available here was a pleasant surprise. I also value honesty above everything, and Carter (who gave us the tour) actually explained all the fine print fees that people usually complain about ($60 maintenance fee and $2.25 monthly processing fee). Despite those extra fees, the gym still costs less than $35/month with their highest plan, Peak Results. Also, Carter explained the cancellation policy on how you cannot cancel after 7 days, and before 90 days, during the tour, so that we won't be shocked if that comes up later. The facility is also super clean and well-maintained, although I don't know if that's because this location has only been open for 96 days. My friends and I are still debating, but this gym is definitely my top choice. They have multiple locations in Dallas (especially West Plano and Frisco, where I work), which would make it easier to visit with no excuses. I really liked the facility tour, and we'll probably go back this week for our trial day to check out how busy it gets during peak hours (6-7 PM).

It's a big, well lit, still-has-that-new-smell kind of place, with tons of new equipment and nary an out-of-order sign to be seen on our most recent visit. We only briefly interacted with the staff, and they were friendly and greeted us warmly. I briefly darted into the locker area to use the men's room, it was clean and well stocked. As for the equipment, I'm all about the "put on the headphones and hit the pin-loaded weight machines", and that's what I did. This gym has a couple of machines that our usual one doesn't, so that was a nice change of pace. If there's a downside, there's only one pec fly/deltoid machine, and since it does two exercises, it's always in high demand, and I had to wait for two others to do their reps. The McKinney location has two of these, and there's often still a wait. We also hit the ellipticals for a few minutes to warm up, and they were super clean and new as well. As always, we closed out our workout with the Hydromassage, and even with four chairs, there was a brief wait, but no biggie. Bottom line, this is a super clean, well lit, well managed gym with no judgment and plenty of options for your workout.
