I posted a rave review based on an untested repair of our air conditioning…read more Turns out that after we left on our trip with what we thought was a fixed air conditioner (and less about $600), we had the air conditioner blower again stop working on our out of state trip. We called to get help from Murdoch twice and both times left a voice message with no return call. The two calls were: 1. 1st to alert them to the now recurring problem for which they supposedly fixed. We had hopes they may have suggestions to try since we were clueless as to why it would just stop blowing again. 2nd call was ask Murdoch to share details of their "repair" with the current out of state mechanic who was now trying to fix it, We did not have the repair paperwork to tell or show the new mechanic what all had been done to remedy the problem. Murdoch NEVER returned the calls or respond to our pleas to help us at all!! We ended up being told that the cause of our air conditioner failure was a capacitor that was probably the original cause of the outage. We likely did NOT need to have what we thought they did to correct the problem done. Again, about $600 worth of repairs was a wasted investment; Ultimately we learned a capacitor had to be obtained directly from a Ford dealership. Bottom line, because we had to get to the airport for our vacation commitment and couldn't wait for parts to be order and shipped, we ended up having to buy a new vehicle. With the blower on our air conditioner out, we could not drive the car in the heat and rain due to the heavy foggy condensation on the windshield. The blower outage meant our defogger didn't work either. Very expensive lesson for us. We definitely would NOT recommend Murdoch given the after-service neglect and the high dollar cost which did not fix the problem.

So my Acura needed spark plugs... this is my own novice intellect saying this because my mpg…read morestarted to be like crap and it was sluggish...so the first thing that comes to my mind and the cheapest is change spark plugs and engine filter...and yes, I know nothing about cars. So I politely call the dealership and was quoted 80.00 per spark plug...only the spark plug!!!! Say huh? I've started to do my own nails, but I assure you I have not smelled enough nail paint fumes and acetone to go for something as insane as that!!! So I asked what kind of plugs were these, and if they were made of gold and he said, "No platinum". I researched spark plugs and from what I read, it stated iridium was better than platinum and at Autozone, a nice brand of Iridium plugs were at most 24.00. I was totally cool with that, but for 80.00 bucks a plug, I felt that not only should these things start up my car, they should be starting up my ass or something!!! WTF???!!!! So I called the brothers at Blackline and explained the situation to them. I had already purchased the plugs and the air filters and it they told me to come in. I did and it has been the best experience of my car mechanic life.... lol...and I will never step into a dealership again!! These guys are efficient, transparent, honest and they explained stuff like no else has...I mean, that I wasn't related to. In addition to the spark plugs, I asked questions about other items the dealership said are "issues"....one dealership says I need this, the other dealership says I need that....as a person with no mechanical knowledge, I dont know who to believe and even more who is telling the truth for the 2k they are trying to smother out of me!! I expressed my concerns to Romero and and he took the time to go one a test drive to investigate my issues and even took me in the shop and showed me that each person from the dealership was lying and showed me there was nothing wrong with the parts they were referring to....or that it simply wasnt bad enough to warrant fixing at this point....maybe much later. He could have easily said, "Yeah, they are right" and said, "but I can do it for....." These guys didn't do that! They are honest, upfront and will tell you what is wrong and still give you a way better price than anyone else and they even are cool with you bringing parts like I did. Other places would be like...we cant install parts that you bring in...it doesn't have a warranty..yadda, yadda...but the part you bring in sealed is the same part he just called autozone for 10 minutes after you agreed to his 50 % markup!! We all have to make a dollar...but these guys are doing it honestly and I will without any reservation recommend them. I'm going back for my timing belt and a motor mount and feel that quality work will be performed at a more than decent price!! Check them out..and dont be bothered about the front of the shop..its simple and that's all it needs to be in order to get your car fixed....if you care about the Starbucks machine that is able to differentiate between a latte and a macchiato...then go to the dealership and you'll pay 2x for that coffee in the long run. They have soda, a TV and they'll even drop you off at th he Starbucks if you wish!! I'm never leaving these guys!!

STAY AWAY!! SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY. Go somewhere else!!…read more I've been let down by many vendors, I've never left a negative review before. I felt compelled to do this for Bill's radiator though. Two weeks ago I brought my car over to Bill's because it was overheating and shut down. When I met Gary at Bill's radiator, he spoke very highly of his team's competence and ethical behaviour. He is an older gentleman, who seemed credible to me. I told him what repairs might be needed, but his response to me was that they like to do their own diagnosis.I left the car with them. I get a call later that day about the car needing a new radiator and spark plugs, oxygen sensors, new thermostat and a total estimate of 1680. I asked if this would make the car run well and pass state inspection, he said absolutely yes! I agreed to the repairs, he said it would be done in a day. A week goes by and I have no update from Gary, I call them a few times and get the standard responses, like issues with staff, other work etc. A couple of days later Gary calls me and says he thinks my gasket is blown and might require engine work. "We don't do it, but I know a great guy right across the street who fix it. We did not change the oxygen sensors, so if you just pay me 1300, I will deliver the car to this other shop" he said He charges me 1300 and drops the car across the street. The guy across the street takes one look at the car and says it needs a new engine, why did you waste all this money on a radiator? Its burning coolant, I can smell it, no diagnosis necessary! The engine is more expensive than the car, you should junk it! So I wasted almost two weeks and 1300 dollars, for a car that should've been junked! I called Gary again, and he took no responsibility and encouraged me to go to the court. So here I am in the people's court. I had initially thought it was either a severe lack of competence or a lack of ethics with this business. Now I am convinced it's both. STAY AWAY!!!
