We did have some back-and-forth about timing (I expected weekend service, but he had to have a part made), so that was a minor issue, but I felt the owner handled it professionally and patiently. A different technician did the install, and he was efficient and friendly, too. Overall it was a five-star experience. I recommend that you clarify everything in writing first about when your unit will be installed. Even though we differed on that, I probably would not have found faster service given the situation, and the price was on point for this region and what we needed (new unit). I just purchased my 1950 DC home a few months ago. I could tell that the air quality was terrible so I shopped around for duct cleaners. After reading all the positive reviews, I called McMurrays and scheduled an evening appointment. The crew showed up on time and fully prepared to clean and disinfect my ducts. Turns out, I was breathing in mold, dirt, dust etc. I couldn't believe my eyes, so much filth. I needed way more than just a simple duct cleaning! Overall, I'm so happy I called this company. 5 Stars for McMurray's Heating & AC. They came the very same day I called and thoroughly diagnosed the problems with my old boiler. Rather than just replace the parts that had worn out, I asked them to replace the boiler entirely. Mr. McMurray and Mr. Moseley immediately swung into action despite it being the holiday season. While I was and am still unhappy about the problems with the company losing my initial request for a bid several times over more than a week, the owner did reply to my complaints about that on Yelp and did come out and complete an inspection and give my problems a thorough review. I've been on vacation and considering the extensive work needed want to get at least one more bid before I decide who I will use to do the work, but I was convinced during the inspection that McMurrays does know what it is talking about and could do the work well. The owner wouldn't honor the parts warranty because service wasn't done twice a year on a four year old AC unit bought new. Warranty was for five years. Update: After my review the owner called to explain the situation to me but still said the failed capacitor wasn't covered by the warranty. I promised to add the context that he was busy with another customer when we were talking about the warranty and still made time to talk to me. I wasn't too thrilled with the service. Our HVAC started making a bad sound so we scheduled an appointment. The tech came out and advised us that the HVAC likely needed a cleaning and that a piece of the motor would need to be replaced. As a stop-gap solution, he sprayed the motor with a lubricant and advised us to run the fan on the unit for as long as possible to allow the lubricant to evenly disperse. Well, after 8 hours of running the fan as advised, the HVAC completely stopped working. I tried several times to schedule follow up appointments but I found coordinating tough. Essentially, I paid $350 for someone to come out and break my HVAC and misdiagnose the problem. We went with another service who offered a totally different solution and the unit has been running fine for several weeks now. While I realize that it may be difficult to determine the exact cause of the issue, the fact that this solution was never proposed was a little confusing. A silver lining was that everyone I interacted with was courteous. read more

Wow. Carlos a super knowledgeable and friendly guy came over this afternoon to repair several issues with my AC. Couldn't have been a nicer guy. McMurray Heating and Air conditioning was very responsive when we needed immediate help with our heating system. Lynwood arrived well within the time we were quoted. He was kind to our energetic dog, quickly resolved our issue, and was able educate us about our system (purchased by the previous owner). Unreliable, unprofessional, and difficult to work with. Based on the great reviews here, I had my property manager try to use McMurrays to fix my HVAC system. In addition to a quote $4,000 above the competitor, the feedback from my tenant and the property manager was extremely negative. And I'm out $200-300 for the estimate! 1. The guy took the check to pay for the estimate, gave a 4hr window for the apt time on a work day, and didn't show up. 2. They didn't answer calls, when they did they were too busy to talk, and took forever o call back. 3. When the guy finally came he talked to the tenant, went to check it the roof and the disappeared. 4. When we finally got the quote it was literally $4,000 or 200% higher than the competitions. 5. The property manager had to push hard to get him to disclose that there was another solution (just replacing a part instead of the whole thing), which would cost way less. This company is poorly managed if not incompetent. They wasted my time and money. read more

Long time user, first time Yelper. But it's a new year and time to try new things. And what better time for your first review than when someone may have saved your life. My wife and I returned from a week long trip to find that the pilot light in our house was out. On the evening of January 1. During one of the coldest weeks in recent memory. The inside temp was 41 degrees. We know how to reignite the pilot but it wouldn't stay lit. This was a problem beyond our abilities and it needed attention fast. We called McMurray at around 8 pm on a Holiday. Lynwood came out at 10 and had it fixed in about 30 minutes (involved replacing the thermocouple). He got the heater restarted but immediately said "wait, we have a problem; we have to shut this down." While everyone's focus was on the floor and the pilot light, no one (including me or my wife for the past couple months) noticed that the venting pipe had corroded to the point that it was basically detached from the chimney, potentially allowing carbon monoxide to flood the house. Lynwood set it up so that people came back the next afternoon to fix that problem. He was professional all the way, responsive, easy to work with and informative in the midst of a time that, I'm sure, was busy for him. Will be using him to service this same furnace and for other needs without hesitation. read more
