At first, I didn't think I needed a day-of coordinator since I had already planned most of the wedding myself -- but I was so wrong. Marcy and her team were amazing and truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Marcy was always responsive, checked in often, and kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Our reception had a lot of moving parts -- DJ/MC, jazz band, videographers, lion dancers, Filipino cultural dances, and table greetings -- and she coordinated everything seamlessly while handling any unexpected issues calmly and professionally. She also helped collect monetary gifts, made sure vendors were paid, coordinated logistics, transported various items for the reception, and even helped us find someone who could provide Vietnamese translation support! She made it possible for us to actually enjoy our wedding reception stress-free. My only one regret is not hiring her team for the ceremony portion of our day. I had actually hoped to hire her as our day-of coordinator, but unfortunately she was already booked on our date. Marcy was our day of coordinator, and she was so helpful throughout the whole wedding process, From when we first booked her a year prior to the very end of the wedding, she answered all our questions and made the whole process so smooth. The week leading up to the wedding, she connected with all our vendors and ensured that everything was ready to go. From the moment they arrived in the morning at our tea ceremony, they were on top of making sure the entire day ran smoothly for us. MCM entertainment has been around many of the weddings that my now-husband and I have attended. Michael always had such GREAT energy and always knew how to move his crowd and kept them pumping with energy. Last time I had met Michael was at one of our great friends wedding back in 2019. My husband had always said, when we get married, I'm going to have Michael and his team be our MC. When we started planning our wedding on March 2022, of course MCM was the very first vendor we had spoken to and booked immediately. I remember speaking to Michael and then Kathy from emails, and they had mentioned if I needed a day-of coordinator. Since I had planned our wedding for 13 months, I absolutely NEEDED a day-of coordinator because there was no way I could've handled without one, and then was when I had met Marcy. Marcy was always responsive when I had questions here and there throughout the 9 months or so. But the last month was when she really worked alongside with me planning our timeline together. It was great working alongside with her because she valued communication and that was definite key. Day of the wedding on April 16, 2023: Michael worked his magic and worked gracefully when we had a few hiccups in the beginning of our wedding. Michael was ALSO our officiant at our ceremony as well!! And he did amazing.. it was great to have him as both our officiant and MC since we were already comfortable with the team. I hate leaving bad reviews for our big day, but our biggest wedding regret was booking MCM. MCM started off strong, with Marcy being amazingly communicative even though I was last minute in booking a MC & DJ (14 days before the wedding). Marcy personally called me, texted, and was flexible with all of the changes I needed to make on the week leading up to my wedding, i.e adding on karaoke. It was Marcy (and the great Yelp reviews, though there's only 40) who really sold me on booking MCM rather than going with another trilingual MC who could speak English, Mandarin, & Vietnamese. Here's where the good ends and bad begins. (1) First off, I did not realize that I was getting both Michael and Cathy. You would think that getting an extra MC would be good, but because I didn't realize they were a package, when Cathy appeared on stage while my husband and I were seated at the sweetheart table and she started singing a song in Mandarin, our faces were like...wtf?? who is that? We were already running late on a condensed schedule, so we were both confused and annoyed, but since we were already seated in front of everyone, we couldn't make a fuss. We had booked MC services to start at our grand entrance. Michael gave himself a HUGE "grand entrance". We learned about this later: our friends inside the room were cheering like crazy because they thought that the groom with his parents were entering, but it was Michael who walked through the door, so they were like......??? The main issue was Michael's ability to read, speak, and translate Mandarin fluently. First off, I had provided a Google Sheet with the important names typed in Chinese. Unfortunately, the printed sheet that Michael had was not the final version, so I had to scramble to find a PRINTED schedule with Chinese names, because Michael couldn't figure out how to access the shared Google Sheet on the phone. This was literally 5 minutes before the grand entrance. The icing on the cake: Michael mispronounced names in Mandarin (parents and our son's), spoke mostly in English, did the bare-ass minimum in translating from English to Mandarin or to Vietnamese and from Mandarin to English, SKIPPED ASKING HUBBY'S GRANDMA TO STAND AND WAVE DURING INTRODUCTIONS, and skipped my husband's and my toast (which was on the provided schedule) to start the shoe game, which messed up our groove when we gave toasts afterwards. Then, the shoe game went frustratingly long, in ENGLISH only, because Michael did not translate at all. The most annoying part of the night: Michael had both me and my husband do a catwalk -_- obviously we can't say no in front of 250 guests, so again, we had to run with it and look like it was planned/intentional and that we had fun. My husband legit hates this kind of thing because he is very introverted. He did not appreciate this. (2) The DJ that Marcy booked was capable and did play the playlists that I made for both the ceremony and the reception. He added his own touch during the dancing portions and ran with the flow during the reception. The con of booking a DJ (not Marcy) through MCM was that I didn't get to speak directly to the DJ until the day of the ceremony...I actually don't even remember his name! Marcy was the go-between for us and did not provide his information or contact info. So I made my own very detailed playlists for the ceremony seating music (42 minutes), ceremony music (with detailed instructions on cues to follow), dinner background music, and dance/song requests, all of which I sent over on a Google Sheet. Marcy did look over the songs over text and made some suggestions for those I hadn't chosen yet (i.e. for the grand entrance songs). She then had to print out the Google sheet and provide it to the DJ before the event. The last day to provide song requests to the DJ was 4 days prior to the event (I unfortunately blew that deadline). Luckily, the DJ had access to the Google Sheet and Spotify playlists on the day of the wedding. However, for the DJ add-on of $900, shouldn't we have been able to go through our playlist in detail with the DJ prior to our wedding day, with room for flexibility? The other DJs that I had spoken to indicated that they were willing to work with me directly and would provide a more hands-on approach during the song selection process. So to recap, issues were: (1) Not getting the level of trilingual services that we needed (2) Got a second singer/MC who we did not plan for (in terms of time or tips) (3) The stupid surprise catwalk (4) Disregard for our schedule of events (5) There was SO much self-hype by the MCs (6) Wasn't able to actually meet/speak with the DJ before the wedding. Overall, it may seem like I have a laundry list of grievances, but with all of the above issues, booking MCM was one of the biggest regrets of our wedding day. We were first introduced to Marcy and Michael from our wedding planner. For context, my husband and I wanted a modern Asian wedding (Chinese Vietnamese background) honoring our heritage and parents. We had a traditional tea ceremony hosted by Michael. To our surprise, Michael is trilingual and spoke English, Cantonese, and Vietnamese! It was a delight to have Michael as our tea ceremony host and MC for reception dinner. He made our families feel included and especially the ones who are not fluent in English! Michael and Marcy were a great duo team who knew when to draw the audience in and keep the audience entertained while not overdoing it (to the extent of an Asian variety show, haha!). Michael as our host kept our guests entertained and we kept getting compliments on his performance and kept inquiring on where we found him! His emcee skills and experience as an entertainer really shined through on our wedding day. My husband and I are pleased and lucky we had MCM entertainment at our wedding! We also had the pleasure of working with Marcy. Marcy was so kind and professional and truly wants input from both bride and groom. She was open minded and inclusive to our music choices and really helped to balance it out. Marcy was attentive to our timeline and played our song choices to create our romantic vibe. We definitely will recommend Marcy and Michael to all our family and friends for hosting and music/entertainment. We are very happy with the entertainment provided by Marcy and Michael. To be honest, I was a little hesitant to have an Asian emcee but after seeing Marcy and Michael in action, I have no regrets and really loved the entertainment they provided to my wedding day. I've known MCM 2 years ago from by brother's wedding. I've enjoyed their work so much and felt in love with them. From that moment, I knew I need to book them for my wedding as well. I booked their package for DJ, MC, and Officiant. They did really amazing job. The night went perfectly, and we could not ask for a better team. Marcy- our officiant and DJ. Marcy is amazignly with communication. She is your go to person to keep in contact if you ever have any question. She will guide you on how to plan your timelime if you ever have question. Marcy did incredible job being our officiant. Her ceremony speech was amazing with my husband and I story and everything about it. It just so perfectly. For the DJ, Marcy did amazing job our our songs selection. We gave her the list of songs that we wanted to played, and she did so well with the set. Another bonus, I know I did not book them for the day of the coordination, but Marcy was really helpful and reminded me with the timeline that I have provided. I'm really greatful for the extra work you had provided. Michael - He is our MC of the night. Michael really know how to host a show. He is amazing and enternaining. His energy really to hype up the crowd and excited throughout the night. There is no one complain about his energy and the way he is leading the event. From introduction to grand entrance, and playing games with guests. I'm really admired him with his enthusiasm. Forgot to mention, Michael did really good with bilingual transalation for our wedding. I cannot recommend MCM enough!!!! I got married in February 2024 and booked MCM for their coordination, DJ, and MC services. 1) Marcy's coordination services were top notch! We had a few opportunities to touch base before the wedding and she asked great questions and provided resources to ensure that we were on the same page in terms of schedule and decor. On the day of the wedding, everything was seamlessly set up and the schedule flowed so smoothly. 2) DJ - My husband was a bit particular about music and when certain songs would be played. Marcy and her team's execution of all of the music and mixing was perfection. All of our guests complimented the flow of the music and how the vibes were curated! 3) MC - we had Michael as our MC and he was AMAZING. Not only did he keep us on schedule, he was also so entertaining and engaging. My husband and I had so much fun playing the games they had planned for us and all of our guests could not stop raving about Michael's execution and vibes! Michael (MC) and Marcy (DJ) were so pleasurable to work with! They were so sweet and professional throughout the whole experience. They were so easy to work with and you can tell they work well as a team because the whole night flowed so well. Our guests LOVED Michael!!! He's so funny and really knows how to help fill in the awkward gaps. The games he had lined up for our guests were talked about for weeks after our wedding. Wow! MCM Entertainment is phenomenal!! Thanks to Marcy, Cathy, and DJ Derek, our wedding reception evening was absolutely entertaining and everyone had a blast!!! If you're looking for a great and professional Emcee and DJ, definitely hire them!!! Our reception venue manager referred us to a different Emcee, however, he didn't get back to us in a timely manner and said he needed to check his schedules. Luckily, I searched and found MCM Entertainment on Yelp and inquired about emceeing service in Cantonese and English and Marcy responded promptly the next morning. Marcy was our main point of contact and she's amazing! I'm so happy I chose them! My father hasn't been feeling well since the pandemic and has not gone social dancing. I told him there would be a dance floor at my reception and that he could do some social dancing with my mom. I told Marcy and Cathy about it and to play some selected musics for my parents to dance to. OMG! They nailed it!! My parents were up dancing and everyone was so happy to see them on their feet dancing again!!! Cathy is remarkable!!! She is very energetic and engaging! Knowing that my hubby is a little shy, she involved the audience in the flower centerpiece game, instead and everyone was laughing nonstop! She even dedicated a beautiful traditional Cantonese wedding song and a Mandarin song to us and our Chinese speaking audience!!! We just had our wedding back in April and had absolute pleasure of working with MCM Entertainment as our wedding coordinator, DJ and MC. From the very start, they were organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day feel special and stress-free. Our wedding coordinator Marcy was a calming presence from the planning stages all the way through to the final moments of the night.
